  3. AS YOU LIKE IT

I tried to let DOOM make something new and entertaining to the eye. So I included special puzzles and effects (esp. The Tower in MAP02) and designed the sounds and the visual appearance very carefully.

  7. BEYOND.WAD (Beyond Doom)

Beyond Doom is a 12-level replacement for the first 12 levels of Doom ][. They are best played as single player levels, starting at the beginning of each level with just a pistol, and set on the ULTRA-VIOLENCE setting. (The ONLY way to play single player) These levels are also extremely fun co-op play and several of them are good deathmatch levels as well. New music has been carefully chosen for each level too. Give these levels a shot.. we seem to think they are pretty classic single player challenges. Send any feedback to the email address above. : See below for specific level descriptions. :

  8. Cross

This wad was designed for one-player play, but turns out to be a pretty good deathmatch level as well. It has a crossing that branches about nine coridoors leading to other rooms. It's very playable.

Conventional DOOM wad designed around 3 key solution. Pretty straight forward. Really designed with cooperative play in mind but is a challenge for single players. All skill levels playable.

  11. Big 'n Dark

This wad is a single player "wheel" type wad. It centers around a central room that is very dark, and has various rooms leading off it that will lower the transporters in the center to allow access to other rooms. I've been working on this one on and off for 3 months now, and have frankly grown weary of it :-). It is finished, but does not have many extraneous "things" in it. Feel free to add to it, and change it (but give me some credit for the grunt work :-))

  14. Assault4: Mineshaft!

Assault4:Mineshaft is a trio of new levels for Doom II. New graphics, new sounds, new music, and a new monster are among the highlights. We have payed close attention to detail, all textures are properly aligned and all difficultly levels have been implemented.

MAP 01: Contact has been lost with the mining colony on a distant moon. You have already investigated the base to find it completely deserted. On this level you will explore the upper levels of the mining complex. Find a way to activate the lift and gain access into the lower levels of the mines. (The new monster appears near the end of this level).

MAP 02: Now that you have access to the lower levels of the mines your exploration can continue. This level holds the source of the foul demonic infestation. (All three levels have secret rooms but this level has a large secret area.)

MAP 03: Having discovered the horrible evil that the miners have unearthed you are ready to clean it out. At the end of the level, you will reach through a strange portal that will lead to.... ...ASSAULT 5! (Coming Soon) Level 3 is very tough.

  16. Darkstorm - Critical Path

Critical Path is a Doom II PWAD for advanced players, preferably those with faster computers, and is difficult enough to challenge anyone on the first few attempts. However, once you've analysed the tactics necessary for the level's completion, it all becomes rather easy. Par time is 28 minutes.

  20. :New Civilization

:This is the best wad I have made to date, though some think that it is a sequel to civdem.wad, they probably think that because the rooms look the same, the difference now is a new and improved final area, and a corridor that connects the end of the level to the rest. Anyway, the demons in DooM have gotten a bad reputation because they are evil, but many people don't realize how civilized the demons trully are. In this level the demons, have made numerous civilization advances, including a small grocery store type area, they have also made long corridors of sleeping quarters, as well as numerous traps and switches that activate various things. So go in and kick some butt. I like this wad, but hey I'm the creator, so try it for yourself

Don't think that this level only has Hell Knights and Barons of Hell, it has a variety of monsters. You take their invitation and rush to your room. They stole your weapons! Good thing you had your pistol in your holster. You hear a portal open behind you. Even without your trusty BFG-9000, you're going to have to make it out of here, alive.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
