  1. Eulogy 3

Well, I guess I'm making the Eulogy series. Hey, why not? You can mark my progress now. This one is probably the toughest one so far. Anyway, it's got a good amount of monsters on skill 4, which makes it fairly hard for the average Doomer. Ammo is also scarce at times. Skill 1 is very easy though.

Small Hint: To conserve ammo, you might want to think of alternate ways to kill the Spider Mastermind.

  2. Eulogy 2

A second Eulogy PWAD. I liked the first one, and I've forgotten how much I like making single level wads. This one is way tougher(is that a word?) then the first one. This is mainly becuase of the small areas that house monsters like the Barron (which is used often).

This is also a bug fix for the original. It wasn't a huge bug, but a switch sector looked really bad (off center), so I fixed it.

  3. Eulogy v1.2

No real story, I just wanted to make a nice tough PWAD that Doomers could have some fun with. Note that it is pretty tough(especially skill 4)

This is also a bug fix for the original eulogy.wad You see, Waded has a crappy internal nodes builder which has a tendancy to leave holes in the walls. After getting someone to record a demo for me, I decided to fix it(it was quite annoying). This PWAD is bug free.

I put a cyberdemon in this one - well why not?

My favourite part of this wad is the red key area - see what you think.

  5. Do Battle! - Version 1.0

3 levels of manic/tricky/novel Doom II action, with NO new graphics, sound or music. Just a bizzare twist on the game.

This is a very red wad and I like it!!

There are plenty of lost souls in this level. This is an often poorly used monster. This is a shame since when used effectively, he can be a real pain...as you will find out!

Anyone who has played my other levels will know I'm quite fond of the imp ambush - and there's a real corker in this one. It's not that difficult but great fun just blasting the little buggers away.

  7. dickie02.WAD, issue 2.

Issue 1 Although this is my second release, its the first wad that I completed to my satisfaction. Went back to it recently and added a few lighting effects. I also pinched the sky from "plutonia" to give a 'bright & breezy' feel.

This level is 214kb when unzipped.

(Issue 2) Many thanks to those who e-mailed me ref Issue 1. This issue has removed that terrible bug at the start (how annoying). I have also changed the sky - less garish than before.

Wow!! Am I proud of this one. When I play tested it on UV it took me ages to complete, but never found it frustrating. You get the rocket launcher quite early on in this level which speaks for itself. The opening sequence is pretty hectic - I have no idea how it will play to others since, of course, I knew where to run to get safe!!

I am now learning that big is not necessarily best. This level is the biggest I've done so far (though this is mainly due to the detail). I am unlikely to do a level as big as this again.

I lost the plot slightly when working on this level and it has ended up as a bit of a mish-mash: two wads merged into one. However, I've spent too much time on it to throw it away. There are some nice exchanges to keep you amused.

Also, when you get to the 'reactor' area, try to resist shooting the archviles. Just for fun, I've added a much more satisfying way of killing the little buggers as you will find out...

  11. Abandoned Factory

An abandoned factory complex. This started off as a purely-deathmatch WAD but I found it could become an excellent single player/co-op WAD with very little modification.

  12. Flow Through

A waste-reclamation plant needs to be reclaimed after the events in Hell On Earth. Mop-up operations are continuing, and the UAC considers it necessary to clear out the old sewerage works. In typical fashion they chose you, being their number-one shit-kicker.

  16. Bug Out

Okay, this wad showcases three of the bugs in Doom][. Yes, all three in one level. The Arch- Vile bug, where monsters become invunerable(both to you and to the blockmap), the VooDoo bug(as I like to call it)where you can walk around dead. And the little known Reverant bug, where his rocket goes in a continous loop.

  20. Falcons Escape

What is this, you just landed your space craft and was about to relax when every thing goes black. You wake up in an empty building and a bruised ego. You have to get back to your ship, only problem, is that you don't know where that is. So you pick yourself up and find you still have a pistle on you, but that is it. Only the gods know what lays in wait for you outside the door.

  21. Depths of Hell

I believe this level is up to the standard of iD. It is a very smooth, enjoyable and challenging single player level.

It is not a pathetic 1 room full of monsters level, it's a full level of explorable and interesting rooms.

I'd describe it as a small castle and a base of some sort, that slide together really well. While the size of the level isn't huge, it has a lot of things to do, and should take about 15 - 20 minutes to complete first time around.

For the first time you play on this level, I suggest to start at skill 2. Once you learn and know the level, higher skill should be attempted. Also, remember to SAVE often.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
