  3. EPIC 2

EPIC2.WAD for DOOM2 is a sequel to the popular EPIC.WAD. Like the original, it was designed for single player mode. Nonetheless, all levels of difficulty, and all modes are supported. This release of EPIC2.WAD also includes the latest revision of the original EPIC.WAD. Enhancements to EPIC.WAD include better deathmatch and cooperative support, all levels of difficulty, more beasties, and more surprises. If you liked EPIC.WAD, then you'll want to download this just for the revisions, but you'll probably enjoy the sequel as well.

  8. ESCAPE.WAD

There is no story... I called it "escape" because the room you start in looks like some kind of torture chamber or something. UV is very very difficult. ALL of the enemies are in it and I find that there is not enough ammo sometimes. Cheating is probably a good idea on this one. :)

Well thought-out, strategy oriented Deathmatch Level. No Plasma/BFG, cuz they suck in DM. :) Based around a medium-sized stone courtyard, with interconnecting tunnels, a few sniper spots, and an underground sewer/drainage system.

  15. Disident

Deathmatch level that is also good for single or co-op. It's small, but simultaneously large. Included are tight rooms for claustrophobic frag action, and also a large arena loaded with double barrel shotguns and bullets.

Several special effects are here, including a building that actually blows up, and only the shell remains. One neat effect is a long corridor that an enemy will be trapped in. You know when they're coming out because you will see their shadow on the floor as they move closer!

Deathmatch tested, and the big shotgun chamber is a blast. Weapons are placed with weight, i.e. there is a risk involved getting to the juicier ones.

  25. Elements

This is a WAD for Doom II that can be used for either single-player, cooperative, or deathmatch play. There are three "worlds," if you will, (earth, fire, and water) that you must fight through to get to the exit. It's pretty straight- forward.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
