  1. EVIL

Just as the name says: EVIL The lighting really sets the mood in the level. All weapons are in here, you defenitely need them. All enemies are used except for Wolfenstien soldiers. Also, do to its size, this level takes at least 10 MINUTES to get through with NO CODES.

  7. FEAST.WAD

Ever wonder where all these fiends from hell entertain guests? What kind of reception center would they have? Who would they worship? what would security be like?

This wad also contains examples of the deep water effect, super turbo lifts, and other cool stuff. (can't give it away can I?) I haven't done extensive play testing on this one, but it's structurally sound, and all the textures are aligned (that I can see). It's do-able, and it takes ~15min on skill3 (for me anyway). Any comments/suggestions would be welcome. It'll be a little sluggish on anything slower than a 486/66.

  8. Doom City

This is a one level WAD for DOOM II that is designed to work great as either a Deathmatch, Co- Op, or single player game. This level is packed with new graphics, and is designed to REALLY look like a city. It features a fast food place, a bar, a church (of course), a supermarket, a seven - eleven corner store, and a library. There are also phone booths, streets, sidewalks and other miscellaneous stuff. For more info about this WAD, check out *Additional Notes* at the end of this document.

  12. Freak.Wad

Basically, just your average wad, with several suprises thrown in. It's a fairly tough wad, although most Doom-masters will finish it quickly. Also, you may be bummed that it's a single player wad...well, that's the way I made it, so there!

  16. DEVILISH BOOM

This is a great level for both deathmatch and single player. You'll love the design and detail and the traps... I designed this level to make it essencially enjoyable, not like those stupid WADs where you have to keep saving your game and planning your attack. "Ya gotta run if ya wanna stay alive" as I always say... This can already be considered a final version, but should you find any bugs, please do mail me... This is the 1st of the 4 level sequel to "Satanic DooM", my first set of four levels everybody loved...

  17. The Corruption of Substation Alpha

After radio calls to Substation Alpha have garnered no response for four days, UAC send you in to find out what happened to the marines and staff. Little did they know that this research and development station would have become so infested so quickly. Grabbing your trusty pistol (though secretly despising it's wimpy discharge sound), you descend the lift...

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
