  4. CYBERDICK (01CYBRDK.WAD) DeathMatch for DOOM 2

    DOOM 2 DEATHMATCH WAD
    Small, circular fast paced wad, leading to VERY high frag counts. Equal weapons, and ammo are available to each player, (no king of the hill possible in this wad!!!!!!...). All starting points have at least the Super Shotgun. There are no places to hide, (no camping allowed!!!, ....... frag or get fraged!!!) The exit room is easy to find and identify, (so mistakes of an early exit should not occur, even with some of your Forest Gump type buddies !!!).

  7. Make a Stand (01mkstnd.wad) for Doom 2

    This DeathMatch wad is small and fast paced, leading to very high frag counts. It has a building in a large circular yard; also a very unusual wall around the yard. The center of the building also contains a circular court yard.

    The Double-barrel shotgun is close to all starting points; all higher weapons are hard to find, (but all weapons are available depending on the level of difficulty chosen). There is easy access to all ammo by using the teleporters. The backpack is also hard to find, but available on all difficulty settings.

    The exit is a co-op type exit. There are two hidden switches that require each player to push in succession, which will open the passage to the exit room, located on the second floor North East room. The first switch is on the second floor South balcony and the second switch is by the doorway leading in to the second floor North balcony.

    DEATHMATCH, 2 to 4 players. - Easy to identify exit. Circular court yard. New type of windows, (never used before, to my knowledge!). Circular lift to obser- vation tower. Lots of teleporters. A few secret rooms, hidden pannels, and invis- ible walls (the hidden panels and walls -Do Not Have- mis-aligned textures, and are difficult to find by design... :)

    This wad is set up like a war zone, many locations to snipe from, but all have an entrance and an exit to dis- courage camping out!

    The BFG and Plasma gun are harder to find, depending on the skill level. On skill level (1-2), which only has shotguns, chainsaws and the chaingun, .....the chaingun is harder to find.

    The backpack is available on skill levels 3, 4, and 5, and is also harder to find.

    The BFG and Plasma gun are harder to get, with considerable risk involved.

  16. 7 Deathmatch wads by Derrick McKay

    This is a 7 level Deathmatch wad. A couple are (very) loosely based on others I've seen, but are for the most part strictly original. In short: 1) Square, *everything* is a lift. 2) Arena type with walkways around, and pillars scattered around the center. 3) This is a *4* tier arena with windows to see (and shoot) into the others. 4) "L" shaped arena with a central room in the cup of the L. 5) 2 level square with a see-through maze in the upper part, and special on/off lighting on the lower part. 6) 2 arenas side by side with connecting tunnels with raised catwalks in the main arena. 7) A 3 level zig-zag arena with lots of on/off lighting.

  17. TriO 9 DeathMatch for DooM II

    TriO 9... Bring your friends along to Camp TriO - the ultimate DeathMatch retreat! In this scenic alpine setting, you'll experience terror and exhilaration previously unknown!

    Features:
    * Support for DM v1/2, with 2-4 players!
    * 25 new SFX, including ALL weapons
    * New music for ALL levels
    * New graphic resources
    * Three BRILLIANT levels

    This is the first multi-function TriO! With added support for DM v1.0 and multiplayer games, TriO 9 is the most versatile TriO to date. TriO 9 is also the most extensively playtested instalment so far - so its appeal should stretch far and wide...

    MAP01 is Point Blank #3, by Denis Möller. This is a fast-paced level with a hint of strategy. SS's will dominate, but the energy weapons can prove a powerful addition.

    MAP02 is 6Skuls02 MAP 7, by Marin Gazzari. Sensational! The level is complex yet easy to navigate, and allows short-term (ie split second) strategy for those who know the level intimately. Stylish and rewarding.

    MAP03 is Mancer01, by Cole Savage. This level has an excellent 'flow', due to virtually all rooms having two entrances/exits. Bigger weapons take a little more time to pick up, but are usually worth the trouble.

  19. 2ARENAS.WAD

    One smaller Deathmatch arena and one larger one... Interesting use of wall textures, etc... Cooperative exits on both levels... secrets can be found...

    The first level is a small room with transporters in each corner... the BFG can be taken, but at a price High fragging!

    The second level is a very large area with high walls and all the weapons.. to get the BFG or the plasma gun, you'll have to suffer... The level is so huge that with good aiming and timing, you can bombard your unlucky opponent with a shower of rockets that he never saw or heard coming...

      I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

      Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

      A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

      Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

      I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
