  4. A simple one, too

Just like the previous version, ASIMPLE1.WAD, but with a few changes. I added some self-building stairs in a couple of places as a possible escape from being trapped by your friend. It made the wad a lot better, giving everyone an even chance. By the way, it only works with Doom 2, so all you Doom_se frieks, fork out some money to the people at ID. If you've never played ASIMPLE1.WAD, you're missing out. This and the original are both "simple" layouts and easy to learn. Have fun with it!

  7. CASTLE3.WAD

This is a sequel to my older castles (castle.wad in dmwads.zip collection and castle2.wad).
The level is a castle with all the towers and things. You can unleash a cyberdemon or a revenant by pressing some buttons... This makes the level far more exciting! Please use the following doom options:
    - RESPAWN (if you want to get rid of the monsters you can shut their starting doors and then kill 'em. After this, the monsters will respawn in their jails... waiting for somebody to press the right [in fact, left] button!)
    - DEATHMATCH 2.0 (for respawning medikits and weapons that can be used as ammo dumps)
    - DO NOT USE THE "-NOMONSTERS"! The cyberdemon and the skeleton guy are vital parts of the level!

  10. The Ultimate Power Struggle

32 levels of DEATHMATCH frenzy, all levels have been tested in 2,3 and 4 player games. Levels 1-14,25 don't have the BFG2000 in them and the rest do. Levels 23-30 are best suited for large 4 player games. We also tested all the levels in both deathmatch modes (v1.0 and v2.0) and all were fine, but levels 25-30 are best suited for Deathmatch v2.0.

He may have paid his debt to society, but he hasn't wiped The Punisher's slate clean. He's about to step into another dimension; and this time he won't be in control. He'll be at the mercy of endless cherries and FNG's, walking into ambushes and death only means starting over. Welcome SGT Meserve, to the Tour of Duty that never ends - the PATROL INTO HELL...

  14. 2 Player Deathmatch

A two player deathmatch which has a re-usable crusher. One switch to trap your opponent, another to crush him. There are a few secret passages and a completely black room with a floor which lights up when you approach the weapon, which makes it interesting when you are fighting around this weapon. The armour is fairly difficult to get, although it is very easy to see, so if someone is attempting to get it.....HE PROBABLY WILL. The board is not very big and you will find your opponent fairly easily, based on different sounds (grunts, doors, and floor switches). Weapons are readily available, however, the rocket launcher and the plasma cannon aren't.

This board was created for 2 player deathmatch, and tested for 2 players.....However, I think that it will be a suitable board for more players.

  18. None. (oh well)

Want to deathmatch? This level is small, well- balanced, has no bugs or annoying non-aligned textures, and is a hell of a lot of fun to play. features just enough weapons/ammo, a few extra tricks to surprise you (you WON'T have seen these) and lots of different ways to get from A to B, seven deathmatch starts, etc. Enjoy!

  19. COLOR CODIFICATION

Initially, this edifice of hell was the source of torture and demoralizing anguish towards soldiers unfortunate enough to have been captured by the grasp of demons. With the intentions of producing nuclear based weapons, the demons designed their base to comply with their prisoner's needs. The battered bones of the captives were no match for the work assigned to them. Therefore, teleportation chambers were installed amongst the various sectors to facilitate and speed up production of their weapons. These teleports were easily identified through the use of COLOR CODIFICATION!

  21. of level Caverns of Duh

One of the best Deathmatch boards we've ever played... the level was designed assuming there would be 3 other players besides you running around. This shows in that you cannot directly get the plasma gun or the soul sphere... someone else has to hit a switch, and there are several switches for both items.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
