  1. The New Breed death match pack

This map is for The New Breed only!! It will not work with anything else.

If you don't have it already, get the NEWBREED.ZIP first and follow the instructions. It is available in cdrom.com's 'combos' file area.

    Then, download BREEDMAP.ZIP.

This contains three maps, death match only, a demo of me getting my butt kicked, and an installation for it all. This will replace Doom2's map 02, 03, and 04, so you can still play the map Breed comes with. After installing the New Breed, unzip the BREEDMAP.ZIP in your Doom2 directory, and type INSTALL3. That's it!! After that, just follow the instructions from the NEWBREED.ZIP.

  2. Addictive Deathmatch Series for Doom ][, parts 1-8

Kill your friends, laughing sadistically on their hopeless efforts when they try to escape you. Oh, almost forgot: These places look good, too!

There's three demos we recorded after 4am, when the fragfest had been going on for 8 hours or so... There's some misreacting, but who cares? :)

All you guys who read this online in the net: this is the best looking deathmatch wad you'll ever find there. I used plenty of cool 3-d effects which make these levels look more like Quake than ordinary Doom2 levels...

Yes, I HAVE Quake. Uh, well, I think some of these levels are more detailed than Quake levels, so they don't look too much like Quake after all. :)

  3. Buddy Space Station

You're stationed at the newest VAC Mars outpost. Life is going pretty easy, until a message from Earth HQ reaches you: There's a spy hiding somewhere around in the place, possibly in disguise. So now you, as the pro killer, have to eliminate this guy...this looks promising, right? Just get yourself a shotgun and start firing! (Remember, I'm not responsible for any quarrels that might occur when deciding who's the spy and who's the "good guy"!) :)

  5. Arena 51

Well, simply put, this is an arena for the classics! This is not a Shotgun2 though, you will find weapons and powerups placed intelligently. If you have been a deathmatch nut for quite a while, you will see that this level can function as Shotgun2, DWANGO7 map 5(?) "Arena", and DWANGO6 map 8 - all in one!!

  6. Block 'o Frags

This deathmatch level turned out really well: it has got to be one of the fastest levels ever. Anti-hording methods have been employed: such as over-abundance of weapons. All four big dm weapons are used: chain gun, double barrel, rocket launcher and plasma gun, and set up so that a good player should almost be able to take out any weapon with any other. This is purely an action level. Strategy is a second concern. The type of game I'm interested in here is the breakneck, no holds barred frags fests. There is no health what so ever - which just adds to the speed and action. It's a small level, so I don't think more than 2 players will be able to fit in here.

  11. Castle

Like the name says...this is a castle. It's got lots of furniture, 2 towers, a throne room, a library, a dining hall, a king and queen's bedroom, 7 living quarters, a small dungeon, a secret chamber, a moat, and a neat fireplace (sort of).

  12. The Grid, or the Warehouse ** DEATHMATCH WAD **

You steal quickly through the shadows. Ahead, you can see a shotgun gleaming in the glaring brightness of an overhead light. You race straight for it and an eternity seems to pass before you feel the cold hard metal in your hands. Suddenly you spin around as you hear the high- pitched wail of a rocket screaming through the darkness.

  20. After Doom ][

This is the first .WAD I've decided to try and distribute properly, although I have done others in the past and some are almost as good. (So read on knowing that this is not one of those ones with a severe case of Tutti-Fruity (There is a tiny amount or a case full of cybers) This is meant for Deathmatch V2.0, although single player is possible ... if you really want.

  21. ARMAGEDDON

The most simple of all DM constructions - a room with 4 columns and a super shotgun in the middle. The architecture isn't as simple and boring as you might think, though. Also included are new player gfx, a new status bar and new music.

  23. August02.wad

A level for Deathmatch only. It's small and is therefore intense with 2 players... 3 and 4-way is MAD! It's for DEATHMATCH 1 (OLD DEATHMATCH) note: * skill 1/2/3: All weapons available except the BFG * * skill 4/5 all weapons available INCLUDING the BFG! *

Hope it rocks on your network/modem; that's what it's made for!...

  24. August07.wad

A level for Deathmatch only. This (maybe the last?) August wad is a VERY tight level you may compare it to level 07 of DOOM2...just smaller. Call it "Dead Simple 2" if you like! :) It's made with the thought that everyone should have a fair chance...that means: no powerups, no Plasma, and no BFG...just some Shotguns and Chainguns laying around...and one SuperShotgun for MAD play!..yes! There's also a pillar in the middle with some Rockets on..but you need to use a Teleport to get on it... You need good movement and good aiming to survive more than 3 seconds! :) I recommend 2/3/4 players, DEATHMATCH 1 and Skill 5 (it gives you more ammo in the weapons) for good gameplay! Hope it rocks on your network/modem; that's what it's made for!...

  25. August03.wad

A level for Deathmatch only. It's sort of an "arena-style" level and even though it's big, it's quite simple so you still can get some action going with 2 players only. I recommend 3 or 4 players for a good game though.

In my opinion, DEATHMATCH 2.0 sucks but I admit that it's great for a level like this so please play this level with DEATHMATCH 2.0 rules. HINT: To get the Rocket/SuperShotgun/MegaArmor you need to *RUN* from top of the cross... and when I say *RUN* I mean running DIAGONAL (shift-forward-strafe)...it makes you run a bit faster in case you didn't know...try it! Note: * skill 1/2 All weapons available except the BFG * * skill 3/4/5 all weapons available INCLUDING the BFG! *

Hope it rocks on your network/modem; that's what it's made for!...

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
