  1. Doom 666

Umm... well... it's a wad... you can go outside, inside, north, south, east, west, up, down, left, right... umm... up down??? Quake2 was released exactly four days ago, and I being the Quake-a-holic I am, get a little confused sometimes. Well, this is really sad. I made a Quake2 map and actually ran it (simple box and not much more) before I finished a Doom WAD. What's wrong with this picture?

  2. Eternal Khaos v1.0 > v1.1 patch

This patch was primarily made so it's a valid WAD that can be uploaded to ftp.cdrom.com and can be downloaded from the TeamOnslaught Web-site. That meant replacing the MAP01 look-alike which was MAP07 "Distorted Entryway", now Level 7 is "Massacre". This is a useful point for those who who plan to upload their doom stuff to ftp.cdrom.com (I think this new level is more playable anyway :)

Very fast-paced one room deathmatch level. Several lifts and great places to effectively dodge AND shoot all of the big weapons.

Single-room deathmatch style. Revenents in all four corners, lifts to the better weapons expose the player well. Good use of light and dark to effect the play.

  9. DB2TWR.WAD

Intended for one of two types of play.

1: One-on-one or team play--where each team only chooses their colored teleporter in the start room. (Thus, they will always start in their own tower.)

2: Full deathmatch with no rules what-so-ever!

There is a large room with two identical towers facing each other. From a small start room, each player chooses either a teleporter to underneath the tower or to inside of it. (Two color-coded teleporters tower.)

Level 1 has impassable lines to prevent crossing over to the other tower. Level 2 does not. Level 2 on ultra-violence is considered to be the definitive version. :.)

  21. Exhale (You're The Victim)

2 player DEATHMATCH DOOM II level

Started off completely different, but then my maps always do. I spent quite a lot of time on both the playability element and the asthetics too.

Had to simplify somewhat because it was just plain slow over the modem, which it was written for.

I consider this my best level because it combines quite nice architecture with a lot of mileage in 2 player deathmatch. There are lots of varied shots you can pull off (some harder to master) - it's not as simple as it first looks :)

Why Exhale ? You really should know, but if in doubt try and catch the latest Prodigy hit 'Breath' The video says it all really ... };o

Sit back and watch the quick demo, then PLAY IT !

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
