Highly addictive Doom II deathmatch level:

DeathWorld! Small, but not cramped, fast-paced a-frag-a-minute fun from the author of tjm_haus. gkdm-inspired. Good mix of wide-open spaces and tight squeezes. As in tjm_haus, noises you make trying to get certain weapons give away your location.

Single-barrel shotgun at all starts; access to better weapons is high-risk. Watch your back! 54k (21k zipped). We play this until our fingers hurt, and then we play some more.

  3. Friggin Frags

A strictly Deathmatch level with a big turret and an outdoor tech center. The exit is located at the top of an open elevator so anyone can call for it but the other players can shoot him down before he can exit. Also there is no monsters on this level just pure Fraggin fun. In the tech center, looking at the map ( problably in single-player mode otherwise you will NOT have the time :-), anyway in the Map-mode the bottom switch lowers the wall behind you. The left switch closes the windows in the turret. The upper switch opens the windows in the turret. Walking up to the right switch ( you don't actually have to switch it on ) will cause the ceiling in the turret to become a crushing ceiling and walking across the platform above the switches causes the ceiling to stop. I hope you like it. Any feedback is highly appreciated.

  4. DOY2.WAD

This deathmatch level is set in an arena like atmosphere where you can evenly battle your oppenents. There are shotguns, rockets, and ammo littered throughout the level for you to use with the -altdeath setting. There is a main circular battling area and another small area above connected by stairs which are at different heights. You can jump from the two height levels and surprise your opponents. There's nothing like a quick jump frag when you leap off the ledge and fire that shotgun into your opponents' faces. There are only a few stimpacks laying around, and they won't help you much if you get shot at close range. There are no plasmas or bfgs in skill 3-5. However, skills 1-2 have ALL plasma guns and nothing else(have fun!).

Please e-mail me if you like this wad or have any comments.

  11. Villa of Death

The Villa of Death is a Deathmatch level. It is a square single-story house, nicely stocked with shotguns and chainguns, with some ammo, health, armour, and other stuff. In the centre of the level is a courtyard, and around the rest of the house is a large garden. There are about 13 deathmatch starts, and all players appear near, if not on, a weapon, none larger than the rocket launcher. The exception is the person who spawns in the 13th spot, who is near a Soul Sphere, Combat Armour, Plasma Gun, and BFG. Unfortunately for him, he can only get one of them, the poor bugger...

In the centre of the level is a pool. In the middle of that is a large waterfall. As people move around in the house, parts of the waterfall lower. When they do, run in, and you can grab a gun or bonus (available are the Plasma Gun, BFG, Soul Sphere, or Combat Armour, you can only get one depending on which section opened for you), and once you grab it you will be teleported somewhere near an opponent. There are four possible landing points, one in each quarter of the villa.

The main weapons in Villa of Death are shotguns, super-shotguns, and chainguns. Rocket launchers are there, but few and far between, plus there are only 9 available rockets (including backpacks and launchers), so don't go wild with them.

Another feature is the Wardrobe of Death. You climb in, and you will find a backpack and a small window. Open this window to snipe at anyone in the courtyard, and slam it shut when they try to shoot back. Although this sounds like a good setup, a black arrow will appear when you enter the Wardrobe, pointing at you. This will give anyone running past an easy frag; all they need to do is pop the door and blast you in the back. Charming. And if they get you just right, you may even fly through the window! Be careful when sniping with rockets, as the hole closes often, and firing while it's closed will end with you blowing your own fragging head off.

Around the villa are eight teleporters that take you between the central courtyard and the outside. This gives plenty of opportunity for telefragging (the best way to frag!). There are 12 doors into the villa, 8 from the courtyard and 4 from outside, and there are also lots of windows to snipe through. Watch out that you don't get whacked from behind while sniping, though. The level is devoid of furniture, to allow you to run around better, and secrets, apart from the waterfall, are non-existant. This should make the level mildly playable. Have fun, and mail me with praise, comments, or (gulp) constructive critism.

"10 levels of deathmatch splendor!" Fielding Mellish "This wad's pretty cool" Ben Tajik "OK exit to next level?" Pete Gunder With reviews like that how can you not download this wad? It's 9 of my best levels all from scratch with one brand spanking new tenth level. All this combined into one mega episode. These levels are designed for deathmatch but support single player, and most are outrageous for co-op. These levels were all previously released before except for map09. All have exits except for map10, but map08 has a co-op exit, so a single player will need the IDCLIP code. Basically I got tired of keeping 10 wads in my doom2 directory, now I just load 1! Most of these maps are based on simple symmetric designs. I don't care too much for asthetics, although, on my later wads I tried to use lighting effects, and more complicated sector combinations. Well worth the download.

  19. Dozod's Deathmatch for Doom2 "FINAL" VERSION

Dozod DeathMatch may be one of the best DeathMatch WAD's available, but of course I am biased. The two Maps, Graphics, Sound, and Function are top of the line. This WAD is destined to become a classic and no DOOM ][ player should be without. Fast pace, intensity, and a smart layout, and quality of screen image "artwork" went into dozod_d2.wad in attempts to decrease the likelihood of any optical poptitude due to long periods of eyeball to monitor contact. I also have available these same maps "levels" for heretic and hexen... and perhaps I will need to spiffy it up for quake someday. Also if you wind up saying to yourself hey this wad is fraggin awesome chances are that many others before you thought the same thing.

  20. Frag Soup

This PWAD replaces level one of DOOM II. It was designed to be a DeathMatch Level. There are no monsters, and there is an exit. All weapons are available on this level. This is a small playing area, so if you're looking for a high frag deathmatch level, then this is it. The level is centered around a building. This building is surrounded by a courtyard, which has a high ledge surrounding it. The only way to get onto this ledge is to die. There are only two deathmatch starts on this ledge, and there are ten deathmatch starts in total. The building itself has many hallways and staircases inside it. It is very easy to sneak up on someone because there is more than one way to get to some place inside the building. It is also nice and dark inside. Both the BFG9000 and the Plasma Gun are risky to obtain.

Oh yeah! The photo that you see on one of the walls is me!

  22. The Entertainer

This is an awesome Deathmatch level consisting of one fairly large "arena" with two attached stair thingies and a duel room that you can get to via teleport. This level is pretty cool I think, especially considering it is only the second level I ever created so far (the other bit the dust). I hope you all like it. Send suggestions and such to me at the above address. I will try to respond if you want me to. Thanks for trying this level.

  23. D2.WAD (New version, 1.0)

This is the second level that I have released, (*Note: Not my _very_ second level, I have made hundreds, which are all sitting on my hard drive, but the second level which I think is good enough to upload.) It is also the first Deathmatch Level I have released. As above, I have made hundreds more, none of which I feel are good enough to be released.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
