  4. GSXR - 1

Deathmatch wad for Doom II. This level is fairly straight forward, there are no secrets or monsters. There is no armor or health (I despise both). This level is probably best played NOT using altdeath. It's about the same size as id's level 2.

  5. Hoboken.wad

I was sitting in SubWay Sandwiches when I looked at the wall, a map of New York and New Jersey was on it. One of the cities was called Hoboken, I thought "WOWOWOWWOWOWOO! what a cool name!" And so I give you this wad.

  6. UIA1

This level is based on the library of the university, and I also included the gardens and the outer part of the coffe shop (that big hole next to the gardens). The chapel is not very accurately represented, but it's recognizable. A friend gave me the idea to make this wad; I think it's cool to deathmatch you buddies in a place that you know in real life. Anyway, for those of you who've never seen the campus, this is a chance to be there. You can play this level in single-player mode, but it's rather boring. I built it with DeathMatch in mind.

  7. Harvest

Another Doom 2 deathmatch wad. But a good one. All the weapons, and a nasty surprise for naive players. I'll tell you where a secret switch is, but don't tell fellow players. No i won't tell you, i'll show you, watch the demo. It reveals large quantities of nasty things, like FOUR cyberdemons, MANY of those skeleton things that shoot homing rockets, MORE THAN A FEW arachnotrons (i kan't spel), and SEVERAL other things. ALSO, additional items are revealed, like soulspheres, backpacks, lite amp GOGGLES! and other stuff. So after all the monsters are wiped out, deathmatch can resume under altered conditions!!!

    Pretty tricky huh?

But we must remember that the level is STILL A BRILLIANT DEATHMATCH LEVEL!!! EVEN WITHOUT<!> THE ADDITIONAL ITEMS, EVEN WITHOUT THE NASTY THINGS!!!! So PLAY THE BLOODY LEVEL!!! ALRIGHT??!!? And then EMAIL ME!! OK?!?! (i am mentally hoarse).

  9. Meat-Grinder I (v1.A)

This level replaces GRINDER1.WAD dated 5/12/95. There's now an exit, for those who like to see the "who-killed-how-many-of-who" screen when they're done, and the four corner pillars have been lowered to open the whole level up some more.

This level is intended for DeathMatch, and DeathMatch only. The layout is quite simple: A large, octagonal courtyard, surrounded by four raised ledges and four sunken pillboxes, with a raised, octagonal kiosk at its center. DM start-points are located on each ledge and in each pillbox.

A Mega-Sphere (or "Skin" as one of my buddies calls it) is located at the top of the central kiosk. The top of the kiosk is accessible via any of four lifts. However, when one lift is lowered, all are lowered, which makes it easy for all players to go for the "Skin" at the same time... ;> However, getting to a lift may be difficult, as each is positioned just a short distance away from (and directly in front of) a pillbox where other players may be waiting... ;> ;>

Weapons and ammo are in abundance, both on the ledges and in the pillboxes. The ledges, however, are only accessible by players who start on them.

To get into a pillbox, a player must jump through a teleporter. The sound of the teleporter will alert players who are already in the pillbox. There are two such entrances/ exits to each pillbox, one on either side.

When playing at skill-levels "I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE", "HEY, NOT TOO ROUGH", and "HURT ME PLENTY", two Soul-Spheres and two sets of Blue Armour are available in the pillboxes. For "ULTRA-VIOLENCE" and "NIGHTMARE", these turn into four sets of Green Armour. The "Skin" is available at all skill-levels.

The exit requires the cooperation of at least two players, which should keep the level from ending until all players are ready.

This level has been thoroughly play-tested (DM), and has proven to be a good fragger. I tried to keep it simple, so people with slower machines could still enjoy it. (My 486DX2-66 is ISA-only, and has a pretty slow video card, and this level plays well on it.)

The idea for this level was conceived under the influence of the adrenaline rush produced by playing a two-hour 'Dead Simple' DeathMatch. ;>

  10. Guts #2

The second in the series of Deathmatch levels. This one is a bit less of a hunting level, more of a blastfest level with lots of teleports. All the weapons are here, but have fun getting the BFG! There is a co-op exit.

  12. GODOFWAR for DOOM ][

I built this level to satisfy my need for a INTENSE Sounding Level and for DeathMatch play. However it does support Co-Op and Single Play mode. Many of the Sound Effects have been replaced for a more realistic and intense sounding game play ! Designed around the BIG Arena it also includes a Indoor Football Field, a Outdoor Park with trees, Walk on Skulls thru the Blood Falls to get the Plasma Gun, and walk the Plank over a Radiation Pit to get the BFG, and dont forget the Computer Room with the Strobing Lights! Sounds effects from ALIENS and PREDITOR included, xtracted from the Aliens-X and Preditor patches along with some of my own !

  20. gkpak1.zip

DOOM ][ DeathMatch only level series. This Wad contains the first 10 gkdm wads which are all designed for a fast paced Frag Fest!

Made primarily for DM 1.0 (skill 3) but added some stuff for DM 2.0 (all other skills)

All weapons are in interesting places, all deathmatch starts are by weapons (to avoid looking for a weapon frags), the big weapons (BFG, plasma) are harder to get than other weapons and some thought actually went into the design, it was NOT just thrown together.

There are NO monsters, if ya want 'em add your own...

  21. H2H Czech Series (3) (H2HCZEK3.WAD)

This is the final version of the third part in the CZECH SERIES. Since the beta was good, I just threw in a couple of monsters. If you decide to play UV, be carefull with ammo. Sometimes you will have to run into fire for more shells.

This was built for altdeath. Playing solo or in co-op will close windows and block some passages that are opened during deathmatch.

This is the first pwad that I made for deathmatch tournaments held by H2H in San Diego (619-426-0073). As you can see, it is not a deathmatch specific wad because the original idea was to design something similair to Id's shareware episode.

  25. The Grid for Doom II

This is a deathmatch level set in a grid of criss-crossing upper and lower corridors with moving floors at each intersection. The upper corridors run north to south and are connected by windows. The lower corridors run east to west, and are dark. Shotgun, chaingun and chainsaw are available, with a rocket launcher in the middle.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
