  4. K2.WAD

I have had this wad kicking around for a year and a half and I thought that I'd upload it for kicks, who knows? Maybe someone is still playing Doom II. That thing in the north room that kinda looks like a mountain is where the level got it's name. This was my second (and last) level. I did it on paper first so it seems to play like it was thought out pretty well. It is great for two player deathmatches, not too bad with three (death comes quickly, though) and I haven't tried it with four, but it would probably be a little crowded. If you like it, drop me a line. I'd be kinda interested to know if anyone is playing it.

  5. Kiev Series

Medium-sized DOOM II Altdeath levels for 3-4 players. BTW, my first real levels ever made. And don't say I didn't warn you; try out these levels before you play them. The exits are easily reachable because I think that you should not play with wimps who push the exit button when they're about to be shot. And yes, I do know of cooperative exits; but I have to admit I was a little bit too lazy.

MAP01 - Technophibia - was build first of all five levels. It contains some computer textures, hence the name. The only aim was using no new textures, which I finally did throughout all levels. The music is the main theme of Indiana Jones.

MAP02 - Moo View - was build last. It started with the two little courtyards and everything else was built around them. The name was chosen because of its magnitude; if you don't move, you won't get a good deathmatch running. The music is the soundtrack of Mission Impossible.

MAP03 - Sea Of Destruction - is, in my eyes, the best of all five levels. If you look at the map and compare it with that of MAP11, you might recognize why it carries that name. The staircase with the two towers between was inspired by a level from Duke Nukem 3D, but I can't remember by which one. I chose the music from E1M1 because I wanted to give you the good ol' feeling just like the first time you played DOOM.

MAP04 - Earth Of Power - was built as the second level. It should bring about a tense mood. The labyrinth is stolen from E3M3. The music is the song One by Metallica.

MAP05 - Lamer Dome - in fact, the smallest level, was built third, sticking to Inferno style. The name is actually a distortion of a SimCity 2000 scenario. The music is the song Head Like A Hole by Nine Inch Nails, who also made the soundtrack of Quake.

  6. Octagonal DeathMatch

THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT! At the time of uploading, I consider this to be my ultimate DeathMatch WAD. The general shape is an octagon surrounded by a ledge, with four "rooms" on the outside. Each room is interconnected. In order to get the plasma gun you will have to take some risk and take off some health. Surprise your opponent by teleporting right behind them. If your risk it and try to access the special transporter room. Try to keep track of the red, black and blue flags in order to keep a sense of orientation. Play with the sound on so you can hear the automatic doors which tell you if your opponent is trying to sneak up from a back entrance. Note: this WAD was designed with DMatch 2.0 rules in mind Anyone who wants fast-fragging, yet quick-thinkingly strategical deathmatch action should download the Octagonal Deathmatch NOW!!!

  14. Stairway To Hell

Well, this WAD is all about bases. There are four segments, each with a different colour. The idea is to 'claim' a staircase of a certain colour and then defend it. At the top of each staircase is a teleport to a segment of the centrepiece, which has the three best weapons on it but no ammo. That's not good enough to kill other people with so you have to take over other people's stairs whilst protecting the ones you own from intruders (So they can't get to your own teleport and hence the weapons ;) and if you end up 'owning' all four stairs you're doing pretty well. Although I can guarantee you won't be able to keep it up for long (Esp. in 4 plyr!!!). Enjoy yourselves and don't forget to come home for tea at 6.

  20. JKN's Levels

20 all new, made from scratch DEATHMATCH levels combined into one wad. The first few are great in action but don't exactly look fan- tastic, but hey, I'm still learning! I got much better as I went along. They are made for killing more so than trying to win WAD designer of the year award. These are designed for 2 player deathmatch (all medium to small size). No two are alike and all provide plenty of fraggin'.

  22. Lord of the Centre

This is one of my early gimmicky levels. The significance of the name is simple - all players start at the edges of the map, and then commenses a mad scramble to get to the centre. Once you're there - guard the BFG warily. Everyone will be after your blood. Great level for the strategists - and the underdog. So, if you've got a friend you can never beat, take him or her on in this level. It's guaranteed to be more even.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
