  6. Josh's Deathmatch #01 (May, 1996)

Deathmatch level (level 01, DOOM II), best for 3/4 person matchups. Pleasant outdoor setting with wide open areas and assorted mazes. Secret areas for those who look hard enough (or have level editors).

  7. LANCE.WAD

Great DEATHMATCH level! Beaucoup de fragging, all the weapons, small sneaky hidey-holes! Watch for 1-way trick walls and teleport strategies. The plasma gun is hard to get, but worth it. :) There's only enough monsters to keep the chickens from hiding. Altdeath (of course) and Respawn are recommended for this wad. You may have an earlier version of this wad. Is so, please trash it, this one's much better. Enjoy.

  10. Library

This is one of my first pwads I ever created. Even though it's simple, I still think it's one of the most fun. It's a lot of dark, tight corridors brimming full of weapons. Happy fragging!

  13. LABFRAG.WAD (for DOOM2)

This WAD started as an experiment in gun-activated switches that manipulate textures. I borrowed a cool texture technique from Brian Martin's DDAY3_3.WAD. You'll know what I mean when you see it. A small map suitable for massive amounts of death. There are shotguns, SS's, rockets and plasma weapons, and a BFG. An Exit, as well.

    Intended for deathmatch.

Please E-mail your reviews of this WAD. I'd like to know how I did!

  18. John Hardin's Deathmatch Wad

I built this WAD file to play deathmatch with my friend. I wanted to have a simple map with a few places to hide. This is my first release, so it is quite simple and may even seem stupid. I like it.

  21. LEDGE FOR DOOM II

DeathMatch level for DOOM II, designed for DEATHMATCH 2.0 rules. Conversion from original DOOM I level - LEDGE__I.WAD

If this wad looks familiar it's because, although the level was created from scratch, much of the ideas and level design was shamelessly stolen from my favourite DM level, ledges2i.wad, created by Mark Gresbach.

The heavy duty weapons are quite tricky to get a hold of. Have fun trying to get the plasma gun (just remember my motto - No Pain, No Gain :)

  22. LEDGY FOR DOOM II

DeathMatch level for DOOM II, designed for DEATHMATCH 2.0 rules. Conversion from original DOOM I level - LEDGY__I.WAD

This wad is a follow up to my Ledge level. I hope you're a good jumper because I've provided a lot of unique leaps that you will need to make if you're going to get your hands on some decent weapons.

Special signals have been incorporated into the design of the level to increase the Frag rate on 2 player DM, without sacrificing 3/4 player DM enjoyment.

The level is divided up into 3 main areas - red, green and blue. The red and green areas contain rocket launches and the blue area contains the plasma gun. These three areas are connected via a central room which contains the BFG.

Here's how the signals work: Within each area/room are dark windows. This is where the signals will appear in the form of flamming torches of the appropriate colour.

For Example: If someone in the red area goes for the rocket launcher or some big ammo, then red torches will appear in various windows thru-out the level. Likewise a similar indication will be shown for activity in the blue and green areas.

Special bright flashing white lights indicate that someone is going for the BFG. People in the blue area are given the benefit of an early indication of this, and so are given an opportunity to stop their enemy (if they're fast enough :)

I advise you to have a look around in single player mode before playing DM, and practice getting the weapons (and the 200% armour).

  25. Lobofrag for DOOM ][ Deathmatch (V. 1.1)

Lobofrag.wad is a small (ish) deathmatch level designed for continuous action and lots of frags. The level was carefully constructed to compliment the frag count with gameplay and tactics - not Cyberdemons and BFG's ;)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
