  4. My Arena 2: OddWorld

A deathmatch level for the original doom2 v1.x, designed particularly with old deathmatch in mind.

This wad was finished a year ago, but was not released as I was waiting for Kim Hauge aka BrV-Zokum to include it in the Brotherhood of Vengeance megawad that was never finished. So, I am releasing it now. Sorry, Zokum!

  5. MechDM2.wad (Metal Death Match II: Shadow Arena)

This is a level that can handle more than 2 players, but should not be so big that a two player match gets boring. I should warn you that I use a lot of sectors and line defs to get the lighting how I wanted it to look, so have a fast modem and good Pentium processor if you are going to play over the internet.

Death Match with monsters is also supported. Be sure to remember this when setting a network game. There are four Barons that appear on all skill levels.

This is a small level made only for two players. Metal-related textures abound this simple map. The lighting mostly dim or dark, but there are lamps and openings to let in sun light where needed.

  8. marbldm2.wad (Marble Death Match II)

This wad is quite different from the first wad. There is mostly green marble, but this time there is a different structure style.

Light is provided by the sun. There is a blue armor vest that sits in the middle of the wad on all skill levels.

To exit, find the door (There's only one) with a Baron's head and open it. Flick the switch to lower the barrier. Wade through the slime until you find a weak, flickering light coming from a hole in the marble floor. Walk toward it. The rest should be obvious.

  11. marbledm.wad (Marble Death Match)Version 1.8

This is in an enclosed area with dim lighting provided by the sun and lamps. Marble is the main building element, with some exceptions.

The activated (red-eyed) skull creates shortcuts while the other switch is for exiting. When I say "shortcuts", I mean four pillars lower. When I say the red-eyed switch is for exiting, I mean a silver "UAC"-marked door opens once the switch activated. You can go through it to exit or get the weapons located there.

    Info about other switches:

The switches along the walls lower the weapons in each section, but there's a little trick to it. Watch the demo to get examples of how the puzzle works.

Did you find the secret door? If you did, there are three switches inside of it, along the weapons. When you first open the door, the switch facing you will lower the pillar behind you. The switches to your left and right raise the floor if someone got a rocket launcer. If the left path is lowered and you would like to get it to its original height, just operate the left switch. The right works the same way. If no one went to get a rocket launcher, you can activate a switch anyway. Watch the effect it had on the side you activated it for. (Whenever someone gets a rocket launcher under the crushers, a path is lowered if it was not already. These are the rocket launchers I am referring to.)

The switches in the teleporter room that you have to step on to the teleporters to activate can change the structure of the level. Press the switch on the right to lower pillars. They will stay lowered, meaning more moving room. If you lowered the pillars and decided you didn't like the effect it had, activate the switch on the left to raise the pillars back their original height. If the pillars are not lowered, this switch will have no effect.

If you noticed the switch on end of the dark tunnel, then you found a little secret. Activate it and it will activate the elevator behind you. Only press this switch if you are extremely patient or bored. Ride it to the top, survive the crushers, and you will get my super-hidden surprise. Now the activate the switch to lower the lift behind the item, move to the end of tunnel while avoiding being crushed (It's difficult , I know, but I managed to survive), get to lift fast enough so you don't have to acti vate the switch again, hurry off of the lift when it reaches the floor, and you get to use bonus.

    **Newest switches added**

See those those brown structures with chain guns on the top? You can lower those by opening the UAC Door and going straight in the weapons storage building until you see a chaingun at your side. Get to onto platform to see get a closer look at the switches. The lion's and gargole's head will lower a brown column, according to the one you activated, on the left or right side. Columns can be lowered for an infinite amount of times.

If you want to raise the brown coluns again, use the switches that appear when the columns are lowered. Each switch will acti- vate a column on the opposite side it is on. One activation will raise a column 32. These activations can be repeated infinitely.

I hope this clears up what all of the switches do.

  19. NEWBOXE for DOOM ][ Deathmatch

This level is based on my previous BOXE level.

I wanted to keep the fun of the boxing, but make it a little more interesting for deathmatch, so I have added dbl shotguns and armor at each start position.

This is really the fight between the BERSERK and the DOUBLE SHOTGUN!

The frags are very high, after some minutes, the floor of the ring is covered with corpses!

Of course you have the ROCKY music with it!

And best of all, you can walk on the ropes, and climb on the posts at the four corners, like they do in catch!

Well, I'm waiting for some comment/suggestions to know that there's still real doom fans like me out there, and then I will continue to update the goodies on the Leprechaun Web site!

  21. Starship Mamosa for Doom II

So ... you've beaten the hoards on Earth, and have been given a promotion and your choice of assignments. You figure the quiet of outer space would be a nice change. While on patrol you come across a spaceship listing in orbit around an uninhabited rock-world. You dock your shuttlecraft, and take a look. What you find is a craft that seems to be having some power problems. The ship's a nice one, complete with an operational sick bay, transporter room, lounge, and a holodeck (which seems to be a bit haywire at this point!) You begin to wander about thinking no one's around. The bridge is empty .. engineering's empty (but having a definate core breach) Suddenly, you see your best friend appear out of nowhere. Just as you turn to say hi, and ask what the hell he's doing here ...he fires on you!!!!

    ....let the games begin....

  24. The MILITARY BASE Deathmatch series part 3

This level features my favourite kind of DM-level: the arena kind. There's no searching for weapons or goodies or (yawn) other players, this one goes fragging off the start.

Like all my levels, MBASE03 is well designed and extensively tested. This is top quality.

  25. Nowhere-X

This is the final release of the Nowhere series.

This wad contains the first six levels from the series, along with four new ones!

    Ok, here's the low down....
Every level has an exit except the last one, map 10. Every level also has a chainsaw incase you and your DM partner(s) decide to have a chop-a-thon. And the chainsaw is usually at the exit. The main idea behind this wad was to entertain. Levels on the web can be small and fast, but they are usually ugly to look at. Likewise, some levels look good, but are far too big to use for a DM. When I say this wad is to entertain you, I mean the levels are small and fast, and appealing to look at. The two together make these levels the best you'll find!

TIP: Getting ths Plasma Gun and/or the BFG is well worth your time, although there is usually a high risk involved!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
