  2. Yet Another Doom2 Wad...

This was my first wad file that I've sent out. Although It's simple, it's fun... You Will NOT be able to get the BFG... It's just an illusion... (set back from a warp line, so there is no way to get it) ;)

Small deathmatch wad. I don't know if it's any good. I haven't ever played deathmatch before. There is 1 BFG in the center of the level. It is all perfectly symmetrical.

  4. Megadoom.wad (for Doom 2)

This multi-purpose WAD is simply several large sections linked together with a secret underground passageway and a large maze. It promises to be an enjoyable Deathmatch level, with an abundance of weapons and power-ups. Anyway, there's no main theme to this WAD, so just go ahead and play it!

  7. NewHope

Medium sized Deathmatch level. This level has been played for HUNDREDS!! of hours! (it's true, I swear! I'm addicted to Deathmatch). You will not find the BFG or the Plasma on this level, because I think it is more fun without them. (If you got to have them, add them yourself!) The level has only one monster, an ArchVile, who can get about anywhere on the entire level, making almost no place safe. On cool thing about this level, is the "labyrith" (it's really just a spiral). When you enter it, the iron tower will open and a lot of nice weapons appear. When the other players see this, they can either choose to go get the weapons, or they can go and trap the other player in the labyrith. Recomended play: Do not use fast monsters on UV, or the ArchVile will become really horrible, and you'll die all the time. NewHope is made for normal turbo 100, and remember respawn. (+altdeath of course). If there is anything you want to say, mail me!

  8. NOG.WAD

This level was made specifically for a Doom2 tourney we held and was received well by the players. It works nicely for anywhere from two to four players -- it's small enough so that you'll never spend too long looking for each other but big enough so that there's a bit of breathing room.

The whole philosophy behind the level is that there should be nowhere you can be safe; there are no dead-ends, and tons of windows so you can often see where the other guy is if you look. Weapons can be fired across almost the entire map if you aim through the right windows.

    Cooperative Exit.

  9. Mancer Extreme ][

MAP06 - This one is a rocket war! Built just like Mancer02.wad. Works great for 2 player DeathMatch, if you play 3 or 4 player be prepared to hear a lot of Death screams!

MAP07 - One of my better levels. This one tends to slow down if you play on 2 player. The level works best with 3 player, but 4 player is also recomended.

MAP08 - This one is also much better with 3 or 4 players.

MAP09 - This is one of my favorites! Its works awesome for 2-4 player! Designed to be an INSIDE\OUTSIDE level. This one is a must have!

MAP10 - This is also one of my favorites. Dont let your oppenent(s) get the BFG9000 or you are in big trouble.

  17. MCmicrocomputer 1995

A deathmatch-only level for DOOM II, designed to be played by 3 or 4 players under the "new" deathmatch 2.0 rules (-altdeath). There is no exit switch: the level is to be played on a fixed time base as enforced by the "timer #" command. Suggested time is 15 minutes. A large central arena is surrounded by a "ring" of small corridors and several rooms, some of which have windows on the arena. All of the weapons are present but the BFG9000 which IMHO is not very useful in deathmatch games. There are no monsters, barrels or special things like invisibility, megasphere etc. Only three bonuses are present: blue armour, megasphere and backpack, and the player has to risk if he wants to get them. There are also several teleporters which allow the player to quickly move around the level. Some nice tricks are played with lights: the presence of a light in certain critical positions is a warning of the presence of a player nearby. Also, pay attention to sounds! The level is well balanced and very tactical, allowing for a fast and tight game. Lot of fun and lot of frags!

  18. melee10.zip

A fairly small DM level for Doom2 that started out as an experiment with lighting. The entire level is lit only by "spotlights" in the walls, complete with moderately realistic shadows (at least, as realistic as you can get with Doom 2). There's no Combat Shotgun. Sorry, kids.

  19. melee11.zip

Melee11 is a medium-to-small DM level suitable for, I think, any number of players. The texture mapping is good, the layout is great, and all in all, everyone who's played on it has liked it. Sorry, but there's no Combat Shotgun.

  20. MELEE08

MELEE08 is a smallish but good Deathmatch WAD that's great for any number of players. It features weapon mixes controllable via the difficulty levels, and is generally pretty good. No glitches or badly mapped textures of any kind. I've put some time into making sure that everything is lined up the way I want it to be. There's one wall that you might "catch" on, but I can't do anything about that, and you might not notice anyway.

    YOU PRODUCE THE MORBIDITY!

Skill levels 1 & 2 -The rocket launcher is the best weapon available (depending on your opinion! >:) ) Many single barrels and few double barreled shotguns are available. A few minor monsters present also. Skill levels 3 -The Plasma gun is the highest weapon available here. A slight bit higher ratio of super shotguns to single barrel. Some creatures also. Skill levels 4 & 5 -BFG is the highest attainable weapon. More Double barrel shotguns and MUCH less single barreled ones are available. And for deathmatch with a twist play, w/monsters, altdeath, and respawn! Get yo Colas (hehe), chips, and ENJOY THE GAME! PLAY SINGLE PLAYER ON NIGHTMARE FOR A CHALLENGE (PRACTICE maybe)! Short game, but it'll give ya trouble! ;)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
