  1. Doom Down DM2

1-Level deathmatch level with a good amount of detail. Takes place in a factory-like area. This could have been released months ago, but I figured it would be nice to release it after the new Zdaemon gets out.

  9. NBOD DM 3: Digital Science

A small deathmatch map using some Legacy features. Designed to be more of an eye-pleaser instead of being... uhm... playable.

An OpenGL renderer is recommended because of use of certain special lightning effects, but software rendering will work just fine.

Note that there is a switch next to the Super Shotgun which cycles through 'body recycling' modes, since not everyone will like the way players (can) die.

Also, a little effect was disabled due to multiplayer FraggleScripting issues. It supposedly only works in single player. If it doesn't, hack the FS and enable it yourself. You'll see and hear it when you get there :P

  10. Doomkid's Deathmatch 4! [Quick n' Dirty speedmaps]

Hello again DM lovers! Here I have 12 maps I whipped up fairly quickly that are sure to please. Serious matches can be had with 2-4 players, but it goes insane with 8+! I have made the BFG optional, because I know a lot of people don't like it (see: whining). Select Skill 1/2 for Soulsphere, 3 for Invisibility sphere, and 4/5 for the BFG - It's the best option, of course!

  12. DM4-ish

Remake of Quake map DM4 for Doom2 DM. My first Doom2 map and I wanted to do something very vertical, and I had already done a DM4 remake once so this seemed like a nice first challenge. Removing all the rooms above rooms from the original was rather easy, mostly done by moving stuff apart. Most complex was the GL area which I solved by making it one level (already on the original you can go in all directions by jumping to the ledge on the side). I took great care that the original connectivity was preserved. As to weapons, it is pretty close to the original but I had to swap some things around to make it most fun in "old deathmatch" mode: I originally had the LG replaced by a plasma gun but that would have made that area too campable so I moved it to the RL/HH area. Obviously a map like this will be most fun with the full mlook/jumping experience, but I made it just flat enough that it is playable without them.

The idea for this map comes from Q3CTF1, but I made it the way I prefer to see it for Doom. The fog is my own design using existing legacy features.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
