  9. CR8 Quake Texture set compiled for Doom

I stumbled upon this awesome set of Quake textures a few months ago, so I though I'd see how they looked in Doom. I then compiled and converted all of the original graphics as well as contributed over double the original number of graphics in recolors, edits, and new textures. Included are 276 new textures and 112 new flats.

  10. Doom 3 Hellknight

Baron from Hell and Hellknight (which is just differently colored Baron) are my favourite Doom monsters. They're really great. But when Doom 3 was realeased I enjoyed new hellknight too so I decided to replace a Doom1 Baron from Hell with Hellknight from D3. The work I've done is presented here, I hope you'll like it. And yes, I know: what are those original legs doing there?! Hellknight in Doom 3 didn't have them! So... they're existing ;) I just thought myslef that they look pretty fine.

  11. Doom 3 Imp

That's an Imp with Doom3-like look. I love imps from D3 and I hate those original ones. They look so silly with those opened jaws! So I got to change them, and here is the wad file. Imps have different head, have more eyes. Spikes and color wasn't changed but if you'd likie, I can do it and upload a version.

  12. Doom 3 Hellknight

That's a woman zombie who replaces former human. Haven't you ever thought about adding a female character to Doom? Yes, I know - it could ruin all shoot-n-forget gameplay, because it's much easier to exterminate thousands of agamic monsters. So I decided not to make a sexy, busty vampiress (however there are mods who gives you chance to mess with them) but a lady, who would kick your ass in a minute. She's more Gretel Grosse from Wolfenstein than for example Lara. I hope you like it.

  13. Dual MAC-10 Ingrams

OK, let's give it straight. Doom weapons are cool. Besides one. Besides chaingun. Yes, it's a usefull weapon. Yes, it can save your ass. But why the hell it's looking so boring? Here's something to change it. Dual MAC-10s. It gives Doom a quite new, maybe more "Die Hard" feel, but I think it's OK. I resigned from realistic recoil animation - if our hero can shoot rocket launcher holding it like it was machine gun, what's the problem with two small automatic guns?

  18. Beautiful Strange Doom Sky Pack

A set of ten new skies for Doom. All of them 1024 pixels wide, divided in four pieces.

The WAD archive contains a small demo map (re- peated ten times, each one with a different sky), so you can view how the skies can be applied in the game.

There are also three folders. The named "truecolor" includes the original renders (256x192, 24 bpp). In "8bits-doom" you'll find the same graphics converted to Doom palette. And "8bits-128px-doom" contains the 128 pixel tall skies that I used in the demo WAD.

I tried to create certain variety of atmospheres. So there are some earth-like skies, an "inferno" sky, a moon-space one, a Mars inspired sky..., among others.

  21. HAND

I got a digital camera for christmas :D the first thing I did with it is this- took pics of my left hand, making it an array of guns. He's good, no? He's trying to break into the film business and this is his first gig. He's a character actor, as you can see. My personal favourite is his shotgun impression. <3

P.S like with most weapon mods, I couldn't be assed to modify the double shotgun. Its what, something like 8 frames? Fuck it.

  22. Recoloured Doom and Doom 2 textures v2

These textures are all recoloured versions of textures from Doom and Doom 2. They include different coloured lights, golden versions of the SHAWNx and related textures, water and lava falls, and so on.

A few of these textures were included in previous texture packs, but most of them have since been improved. They generally still have the same name, so you should be able to simply copy 'n' paste on top of the older versions.

For the sake of completeness, I've also included all the original Doom 1 textures. Some of these have been 'improved', as have a few Doom 2 textures (such as CRATx, DOORSTOP, and SUPPORT2).

Version 2 adds an additional 250 or so new textures (including several specifically intended for use in CTF maps), a couple of dozen new flats, and modifications to several textures from v1.

Much effort has been put into making certain v1 textures bear a greater resemblance to the stock Doom (2) textures; for example, the red marble textures are now a closer match for SP_HOT.

A word of warning: don't try adding new textures to this wad via WinTex. WinTex is incapable of handling more than a certain number of texture entries, and will corrupt the TEXTURE1 and PNAMES lump if you add even one more to this particular wad. You'll need to use another utility - such as SLumpEd, XWE, or DeePSea - instead.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
