  1. SIC_EM2 !!! A DOOM ][ DEATHMATCH WAD

An experts' DEATHMATCH WAD. For those who demand the best fraggin they can get. Oh, it's pretty to look at, as well.

I designed this for my friends and me who, are becoming quite good at killing each other. I don't recommend this WAD for groups who are not closely matched or for beginers. If, however, you and your friends are looking for a great place to show off your skill, here it is.

As in my previous levels everyone starts with either the shotgun or chaingun. A new twist is the ready rooms where you pick up your weapon and some ammo before teleporting into the fray. The rocket launcher, the plasma rifle and the BFG all require some effort to achieve. If you try for the BFG or the power globe (hit the two switches in the middle) more often then not someone else will get to them before you do. This definitely a "more the merrier" type of WAD. Not big but, a definite slugfest with three or four players.

There is a co-op exit in the SE corner. the switch in the NW opens it.

As a note to other level editors: I believe I have achieved the most visplanes in view possible with out crashing the game. In fact if you look at the NE and SW corners you'll see where I had to cut the corner to keep a player from getting back far enough to see a part of the ceiling. If you clip backwards from there the game will crash.

Please enjoy this WAD and share it with others.

  3. The Crow

Doom I & Doom II DEATHMATCH. RECOMMENDED: 4 player network, with fast machines. (i.e. all DX/33 and up.) Was playable with 4 players on two DX/33's and two SX/25's, but it wasn't fast. This is a stalking level.
Although it seems large, there are so many overlappings and connections and teleporters that it shrinks a bit. Nevertheless, it's a _big_ place, which makes it easy for someone who knows the level well to stalk.
Weapons aren't plentiful, you have to go spelunking to get to 'em. I designed the level so that if you just fragged your opponent you know where he's gonna go because all the weapons are laid out in the TUNNELS. Fortunately for you, there are multiple sniper points around all weapons with the tools of the sniper, the chaingun and shotgun, in easy reach in case you forgot yours. This area works great for 3 or 4 players, but with only 2 the TUNNELS don't do their job quite so well.
There are lots of suicide areas. Learn them. Beware them. In one of them, the suicidal maniac can defend himself against attack quite well (read: weapons) so beware stalker...
ARENAS! This level has a bunch of good arena-sized arenas, all except one within hearing distance of at least a couple others. I went all-out designing creative arenas. My particular favorite is the one with see-through pillars. Don't hide behind one too long! There are also mutiple-altitude platforms, stairs and lifts, teleporters...
    ENJOY!
Hint: In the room with four teleporters: (You'll know which one soon enough... you will probably learn to hate this room) No, you can't get the weapons in there. Yes, they're there for a reason.

  5. SQUALOR.WAD

.While I have constructed many maps for DOOM and DOOM II this is the first map that I feel proud enough of to post to the net. It's deathmatch only. Everyone here at my office enjoys it, let me know what you think. I put a few monsters in along with all of the weapons and powerups. Not really intended for Deathmatch II, but you can try. I tried to include some good sniper spots while using varying light levels to make the level more of a hunt and chase style of fighting rather that a free for all such as level seven of DOOM II.

  6. TOF01

This is an ONLY Deathmatch Wad cause there are no monsters in it. You can still play it standalone if you enjoy it. This is not the first WAD I made but i decided to make a simple level, like MAP01 cause it seems it is the most enjoyable when it is small. It was specially intended for carnage doom. Please send me a mail to give me your impressions or comments.

  11. Stargate Deathmatch.

This DOOM II deathmatch wad with a Stargate theme. It should be used with deathmatch 2.0 Includes a new sky texture (Non-repeating) New Doors, and a Really cool animated Gate. All weapons, one time chance at the BFG. This is not a huge level the large file size comes from the new gfx's and music. All testing has gone great this level is a blast.

This file is the Doom ][ conversion and modification of tourney.wad, which was created especially for a 4-player deathmatch tournament. It has sniper points, open areas and all weapons in interesting places. The weapon placement is designed to make for an intense 4-player altdeath deathmatch.

  15. Sabre Mau

It's just a simple Deathmatch 2 WAD for Doom 2, with some optional monsters which can be respawned in Deathmatch to spice things up. The weapons change depending on the skill level you're on:

Skill levels 1 + 2: Chainsaw + Super Shotgun Skill level 3: Rocket launcher + Chaingun Skill levels 4 + 5: Plasma Rifle + Shotgun

It plays best with respawn and altdeath, but if you just want to concentrate on your opponent, you can nomonsters.

  16. Sabre Mau ][

From first look, it looks like SABREMAU.WAD, but in a few seconds, you notice the mass amount of goodies in the middle! You race for it to grab all you can before your opponent(s), and......

(I won't spoil the surprise for you. :)

This deathmatch .wad for Doom 2 is based off of the main room of sabremau.wad, but the similarity ends there. The level is dark(I designed it that way) and a hidden passage contains a super shotgun and a light-amp, so you will be able to see your opponent(s) better than usual for a while.

This level is best played with -altdeath, but it can be played with regular deathmatch.

  17. Underground

This is a DOOM II DEATHMATCH pwad.

Blast your way through old underground stations and monster crawling streets. Explore the long dark tunnels. Raid the buildings, but watch your back!!.

There are plenty of monsters to kill before the real fraggin' can begin, so this will get you warmed up. If you don't want any monsters, use the -nomonsters option when loading.

P.S. There is no EXIT! If you want the level to end use the -timer option when loading.

  18. shriek.wad

That's about it. Pretty cool level if I must say so myself. This is a level which is actually worth the download time and effort. Also may well be the first (deathmatch) pwad for DOOM II.

Desgined for 2 player deathmatch, -with monsters-. If you really don't want to contend with a few imps etc, play at skill 2, but -with monsters- :)... that way the one monster that makes the level will be the only one in the game. Don't forget to use -altdeath.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
