  10. THE BOX for DOOM ][ Deathmatch

I tried to design a level with a 'dynamic' in the architecture, and design it like Quake.

This is achieved with the ground of one large room, moving up and down, when you press a switch, near the rocket launcher.

    There's some sounds of Quake.

The teleports are nearly the same as Quake, and you can fire through it!!! There's start spots behind some teleports, so you can do some tricks.

There's a 'special effect' for Doom, with the torches, making noise exactly like Quake ones.

The problem is that this needs an EXE patch, and I won't make an EXE patch for just one level, so if you want to hear the torches, you should download the GREAT Leprechaun patch, at the web site given before.

Be warned! The frag rate is very high!!!

Well, I'm waiting for some comment/suggestions to know that there's still real doom fans like me out there, and then I will continue to update the goodies on the Leprechaun Web site!

  11. Swarm Deathmatch!

Intended for two-player deathmatch1 skill 5 (the only way to play).
    Map01 No comment.
Map02 Cat & mouse with 2players, chaos with more.
    Map03 No comment.
Map04 Cat & mouse with 2players. Is also the level best suited for 3-4players.
    Map05 No comment.
Map06 Everybody hates this level,I do too but I include it because I originally made it as a rocket-training wad because I was terrible at using the rocket launcher at close quarters. This level has improved that immensely.
Map07 Nice looking level but gameplay not as fast as the others, might also be suitable for 3-4players.
Map08 A technical level for a change, not much room for duelling but good fun. Note: includes repeat building stairs, a first for deathmatch wads as far as I know.
Map09 Smoothe fast paced level with pillars making it suitable for more agile doomers. I know it's pretty unfair that if you get the BFG then you get the plasma aswell but if you're stupid enough to let your opponent pull it off then you deserve to lose badly!
    Map10 No comment.
    Map11 No comment.
    Map12 No comment.
Map13 The last level and marks the change in style that that brought about king1.wad.
All maps are made with Deathmatch 1 in mind but all of them except Maps01&11 should have enough ammo and power-ups for Altdeath.

  14. The Den

i tried to make this one smaller and tighter than my previous wads i took my inspiration from my 2 fav wad series, danzigs and dwellers and tried to implement my own style into a similar layout imo i did a good job... the switch pillars and the ssg platform all lower the ssg platform to stop your opponent from getting the bfg the pathway to the bfg is closed if the bfg ledge is reached... it needs to be re-opened to be gotten again also if you get killed (or get stopped via the switches), your opponent has a chance to get the bfg so dont screw up :) (that sounds like a strategic, thinking game to me) this map is designed for 1 on 1, but i guess it can be used for 3 or 4 way games it might be a fun, very fast paced 2 on 2 map. btw this is an unchanged version from the first public beta. i no longer have the resources to edit it any further (pc fried, and im broke), but it is very polished and offers fun play as it is.

  24. simple1.zip

This is just a very simple level that I constructed after playing one of the Computer Deathmatch programs for Doom 2. It's a great level for 2 player Deathmatch. With anymore players, it's just a total frag-a-thon. I put in the CyberDemon on Single player to practice my rocket dodging. It's great! I've also included a demo to show myself beating the CyberDemon.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
