  1. Volcano

Good quality entertainment - loads of fun and frags not a very complicated or tricky level to insure the quantity of frags will be HIGH! Plus with the different heights the quality of the frags can also be quiet good. Love those frag falls!

  2. WARLORD

Awesome Deathmatch for Doom 2 It has all the weapons, but it might not be obvious at 1st on how to get the plasma gun, all you have to do is start out at the bottom of the stairs and run up them, open the door, run to the exit, look left you should see it. Unless your opponent has it already ;)

  3. Yet Another Arena

There are already a million and one arena style Deathmatch levels out there, and here is YET ANOTHER (I'm _so_ witty :) ). This is just something for a quick shoot out. No WAD epic here, buddy, just a fast and furious gunfight.

  4. Yet Another Death Match PWAD (YADMPWAD.ZIP)

A collection of 7 Deathmatch PWADS for DOOM ][. All of these levels are intended to be played WITHOUT the -nomonsters parm. If you like playing with monsters, you may find these monsters well-placed for death- match play. If you don't like monsters in deathmatch, give it a try for these levels, and you might find yourself thanking that cyberdemon for wasting your opponent just before he could get the BFG...

Two of the levels are brand new levels never before distributed, and the remainder are old DOOM levels recycled for use with DOOM ][. All levels and textures were created by myself, and I hope the hell this is the last thing I ever make for DOOM, DOOM ][, or Heretic. We'll see about Strife...

FORMULA.WAD is a lame attempt at making DOOM look like a racing event. I wanted to put in more road markings, but I had some visplanes trouble and gave up on that. There is perhaps a measure of realism in this level, as there has probably been at least one F1/Indycar driver that has entertained the notion of taking a shotgun to the spectators :)

FRITZ.WAD is hopefully my final level, and so it is named after my girlfriend-with-whom-I- have-been-living-for-over-5-years-and-why-the- hell-havn't-I-married-her-yet-anyways..... Enjoy...

DEATHMATCH ONLY! You can play single or co-op, but why bother? This level is designed for pure adrenaline pumping deathmatch action. Smaller in size, with most of the combat area visible from any point. Oh yeah, I hope you're not too afraid of heights!!! The exit CAN NOT be accessed by one player, 2 are required to operate it. Hit the switch and walk off the edge...

*Story* The UAC base installed on this planet may take some getting used to- The combination of low gravity and dense atmosphere will let you live through a fall that would turn you into a red splat on any other planet. Your UAC security job was boring until today. The base is being raided, and you must use your skill in dealing with the vertical nature of this bases design to overcome the intruders.

The exit CAN NOT be accessed by one player, 2 are required to operate it. Hit the switch and run for it... 2.0 rules are recomended, and there are a few monsters.

*Story* After the intense combat outside of the base, (in Vertical Soul) you managed to make it to the inside. Unfortunately, the bad guys followed you in. Beware of snipers!

  10. Wanna Boogy?

Wanna Boogy? is a DOOM II deathmatch only level without any monsters except your friend-become-prey. It's stricktly move fast and kick ass from begining to end. The level consists of another arena (12 sided) surrounded by hallways. Four Teleporters in the central arena take you to Weapons, Ammo and Goodies depending on the Skill level chosen at start (The higher the Skill level, the nastier the Weapons. However, when you return from your trip, your friend might just be waiting in front of the Teleporter ready to blow your head off. The return Teleporters will beam you to one of the Hallways surrounding the arena. Each Teleporter takes you to a specific destination, so it is possible to determine a final destination and wait for your buddie to appear. There are windows in the hallways looking out over the arena, and they make for good ambush sites. The players start in one of the four connected hallways adjacent to the arena. They will each find a Shotgun and Chaingun to start them out. This level is great in DEATHMATCH 2.0 as well as regular Deathmatch. There is plenty of opportunity for ambush.

  12. Zones - A fast and furious windey deathmatch for DOOM ][!

This is a (quite) simple deathmatch level, based on the idea of several zones (lava zone, slime zone sludge zone, etc). All zones are connected and it it easy to see where you are (look at the floor). There are a lot of long corridors.

Imagine yourself a lone defender of your castle. You have all the weapons and a few tricks up your sleeve. But the problem is you have some mean mothers that don't like you too much. They're coming in with super shotguns and they want your blood and your home. Your job: DEFEND 'TIL THE END!!

All players start in the same place to choose weapons. Usually the defender(s) get all and invader(s) get super shotguns, but you can make your own rules.

When weapons are chosen, defender(s) teleports to castle, closes the teleport with the switch on the right-hand end wall (facing outside), and starts the war (just start firing, the invaders will get the hint). The object is for the invader(s) to cross the pit, take over the castle, and kill the defender(s).

The defender(s) gets all his goodies from the first room and closes the door with a switch on the wall. This way the invader(s) can't get his toys. There is also another room midway next to a teleport (flip the switch when you want to hide it from invaders) and a one-time lift in the room with the 'NO BONUSES' trap (step off the edge toward the trap and you'll see) where defender can get more cell ammo and bonuses.

Each time the invader(s) find a Blue Skull Switch they should flip it. This will open a teleport outside at the starting point that will teleport them back to that spot (identifiable by the same texture as the area with the switch). This makes the game go faster and is very useful since invaders can expect to get fragged a lot.

When the invaders get to the final room, they must kill the defender(s) and hit the crazy Green-Eyed Skull Switch inside the bunker, on the metal structure. This opens the door to the hallway near the EXIT sign (don't hit Eye Switch unless you want to end the level!). Once you walk through, the defender bonus areas are opened and invader teleports are closed, and you can start again with a new defender.

Remember, don't walk through until the defender is killed or else you will have to go through all over again if you get killed!

  14. The War Field

This is a medium sized level that is very good for 2 players. It isn't a big level even though the wad size is big. It is sort of fast-paced for a good amount of frags. There is no BFG. I don't think it's fun in deathmatch. This should be a fun level for anyone.

  17. wax2.zip

Here it is, wax2, the sequal you have been asking for. In response to the many letters I recieved concerning wax.wad, I made this level. You will find that the layout of wax2 is very similar to wax. There are multiple ambush sites, tons of tricks and a few traps. There is also a pretty neat subway section for you to play in (don't piss on the middle rail!!!)

I also included a weapons patch, kokoguns.deh, named in the dishonor of a toy poodle that I hate. The patch basically just converts the pistol into an autopistol which fires twice as fast, makes the shotgun into an assault shotgun, and the chaingun into a minigun reminicent of T2. To use it you will have to download dehacked (DHE23.zip) and follow the instructions listed in dehacked.hlp.

  18. The VorTeX Deathmatch Series, Pack 1

This is a DM series that I started because the only DOOM ][ levels we really played for DM were map 1, 7, and 16. I decided to make a series that contained fast paced action, and some thought into what you were going to do to stay alive. There are 5, yes FIVE, levels in this pack.

  21. Waldorf wad

A collection of 4 made from scratch levels designed specifically for new deathmatch. One mini-episode covering maps 1-4 with difficulty settings applicable for some of the levels. Meant to be played at skill 3. This is the level with the correct amount of baddies for deathmatch. Make sure to have weapons and baddies respawn. This wad is good for slower machines. Nothing too complex going on here, although they are very creative. All levels have exits usable on single player, some are hard to find though.

  22. WANTON2.WAD

Take on the hellish creatures of doom on their own turf! First, you will face flying skulls on a precarious path in their dark and fiery home (with teleporters should you accidently slip "ooops"). Then it's off to the playground of the cacos a place of great heights and quite a bit of slime. Should you be lucky enough to survive that, you will be plunged into the blood maze of the demons. A rather disgusting place where even the walls bleed and most likely so will your knuckles. You will find very little ammo here, bezerk is your only friend, and the return trip is even worse. Finally, you will be roasted in the cave of the barons and that's still not the end. To reach the exit you will return to the arena, which should be filled with corpses already, and cower in front of the final and the largest (quite possibly) horde of hell spawn ever assembled. This level is WANTON.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
