  3. GATUY

A detailed single player only-level in an urban setting for DOOM 2. Some devious puzzles as well as loads of action. If you appreciate elaborate level design, then this is for you. (Should also appeal to Duke Nukem-fans, since it includes some toilets.)

There are no truly secret secrets in this level.

  8. Home By The Sea V.1.2

»This is my THIRD fully working Doom level.
    »The SECOND standard level!

Set in an old abandoned mansion, you enter into the house as a hired detective looking for an important manuscript.

But the problem is that there are rumors that monsters have overtaken the old mansion.

Picking up your pistol and leaving your office, YOU (Private Dick/Family Man) say, "To hell with the rumours." What a guy!

As you arrive at the mansion you see a dazzling light show outside through the windows. You know something is in there but you want the money you're being paid, so sod 'em.

The final words as the door closes behind you can heard for miles: "Oh, bugger," And there you begin.

  10. Horror (That should say it all!) ;) Doom II version.

This WAD has either no theme, or many themes (I'm still trying to figure it out...) I just threw everything I could think of into this level. (Kitchen sink WAD) NOTES ON MULTIPLAYER: I originaly designed this level for single player only. Then when I got a real modem, I started playing deathmatch and realized that I somehow had to make this level compatible for deathmatch. (You will see why it's not when you play it single player...) I therefore added several "deathmatch" doors. They are all secret doors, so as to not detract from single player play, but can be seen in yellow (or brown) on the map. There is also a giveaway in each texture. (Offlined, slightly different, etc.) The doors require a red key card which you will not be able to find in single player mode. If you try to open a secret and it says it needs a red key card, you have found one of these doors. Don't worry, the secret total will not be affected by these areas. These areas not only make the level deathmatchable, but connect several areas to make the level non-linear. The exit is also a cooperative exit in dmatch. You won't be able to activate it by yourself. It is near the original exit switch, which is blocked in deathmatch. This level can NOT be played cooperatively :(

Well, well, a huge wad to test your skill on different points cleverness, hability, ... The only known bug does NOT ALLOW TO SAVE your game That obliges not to do only one mistake. Well, the aim is not to kill all monsters of this level, but to SURVIVE. I highly recommend you to try it in skill 1, to learn how this level works. Skill 3 is for very good doomists, and skill 4 is possible but very very hard... it's time for you to learn hummility!!!

This is my second finished wad. This is a multi- purpose wad that can be played single, multiplayer, or DEATHMATCH. There are some interesting hiding places. My level contains (as always) an upside down room. To my knowledge, this has never been done before my Rockme (Or Rockme2) Wad file. (If I'm mistaken, please let me know!)

  18. Grace Under Pressure for Doom II

Medium-sized level, built with single- player and co-op in mind. This level features a 95% linear design, challanging gameplay, and good texture alignment. I've tried to make it live up to the high standards set by the kings of wad design - the Memento Mori crew, and the authors of the Master Levels. This is a quality level.

You have just been recuited to a secret military installation. You just get your duffle bag on your bunk when the CO calls you in and tells you about your first mission. You will be dropped into a control center that the demon pukes have invaded. You must clear the control center of all the baddies and turn the main generator back on. You try to tell your CO that you just got here, but he beats the crap out of you, dumps you in the plane and kicks you out of the plane, and through the roof of the building. You realize that you'll need to use every trick in the book to get past the demons and get the damned generator back on. You pick up Shotgun and carry out the mission.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
