  1. ITP1_v2c.WAD, Into The Pit 1 WAD for DOOM ][

This version is for DOOM ][. Another version for DOOM (1) can be found in the DOOM directory and is basically the same except for a couple of the new monsters from DOOM ][. [Note by the uploader: The file, that Wiberg talks here about, is /levels/doom/g-i/itp1_v1b.zip in the /idgames ftp-archives.] This WAD started out as a test for what a WAD- editor can do since I recently found out you really can make your own WADs. Tip: there are a lot of illusionary walls around this place that's for sure. I should have replaced DEMO2 with an LMP but after 15 minutes the demo fucks up. So instead in the ZIP-file I included the LMP of me completing the WAD getting as many percent as I could, of course on ultra violence. The LMP seems to work fine but not if I (with DoomEd 3,0 alpha 8) convert it to a demo. Included in the WAD, at MAP02, is also an demo of my next WAD, or the next after that. DEMO1 is also replaced with a quite astonishing LMP of me getting no damage at all on ultra violence and getting to the end of the WAD (it is not ready yet which you certainly will see). Hey maybe I will make a whole new episode, who knows (your hateful or whatever Email will decide that (good thing it is'nt possible to send bombs via this type of mail (viruses are not welcome))).

Hints: In the lava-pit you should try to get on top of one of the pillars and then jump to the other, and then jump onto the ledge in the north wall long BEFORE this pillar reaches the ceiling. Watch DEMO1.

The monsters in the "monster-conference"-room need not be attacked square on, there are other ways. This goes for the whole level.

  7. I Wanna Go Home

The majority of the play takes place in a three- level maze of overlapping corridors and rooms. I had visualized this part of the level prior to construction, but had no idea it would turn out this good in the end. It's very exciting to play. The WAD has been playtested extensively and tweaked many times for improvement. Single player, Multiple Player, and Deathmatch modes are supported. It is skill level sensitive. Lots of surprises. NO TRAPS - (There are no areas where the player can be trapped) - Save often! Enjoy!

Another great DooM ][ WAD file from the makers of Gateway to Hell and Return to Hell. This is recommended for single player games, but DeathMatch and Cooperative (2-4 players) is available. Also included is a Dehacked patch (v2.3) that makes our level even harder!

  10. Henry (temporary name)

Now, it's the time to show you one WAD file for DOOM 2 with temporary name Henry. There are made maps number 1,2,3,4,7 and 8. Especially map #4 is violent because there are hordes of enemies. (I recommend not to play it on slow machines!) If someone send me a LMP showing how he cleared this level on Ultra violence with only pistol on the beginning, he would be awarded by testimonial of honor.

  11. GOO

Fairly big maze, Lots of traps.

2/16/95 This is my first try at Wad building. It's a fairly big maze and you have to go through most of it to get out. It can be beaten without cheating (unlike some pwads I've played.) It's called 'GOO' because that's easy to type, and I typed it MANY times switching between editing and playing before my muck brain said, "hey, let's write a batch file". By that time the name stuck.

The music was written for GeneralMidi on a Roland GM module. It works Soundblaster although it sounds a little odd. How does it sound on GUS, I don't know.

  25. The Final Gathering

This is the DOOM 2 version of "The Gathering."

The moon base water treatment and recycling center started reporting strange happenings deep in there sewer system a few weeks ago. Just days later a garbled transmission during the sounds of battle made it through to the UAC outpost on Deimos 4.

"Nuke us.......it's the only.....have to... ....cant make this......sewers...cavern... from hell"

was all that could be understood from the message. Not much to go on, but that's what you're used to. They don't give you any easy ones, and you don't get to ask to many questions.

The UAC needs you to investigate and "rectify" any potential hazards on the water treatment facility.

    Good luck.

Dang! what the heck was that? Just two tunnels and an underpass from the UAC water treatment plant. The driver never saw the creature waiting in the tunnel. In a flash it was over. Nothing could have survived that crash... you could be wrong ... you did. I guess your on foot now. Be careful, the truck that was escorting you was carrying emercency supplies for the plant personnel and some toxic waste. Watch it, that stuff is flammable.

Rumor has it that the hellspawn are constructing a stronghold near the water plant. If you make it to level four, you'll have your work cut out for you.

Level five is located in the depths of the earth below the enemy stronghold. This level was designed with deathmatches in mind. If you're going solo it should prove to be a very challenging game.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
