  1. :New Civilization

:This is the best wad I have made to date, though some think that it is a sequel to civdem.wad, they probably think that because the rooms look the same, the difference now is a new and improved final area, and a corridor that connects the end of the level to the rest. Anyway, the demons in DooM have gotten a bad reputation because they are evil, but many people don't realize how civilized the demons trully are. In this level the demons, have made numerous civilization advances, including a small grocery store type area, they have also made long corridors of sleeping quarters, as well as numerous traps and switches that activate various things. So go in and kick some butt.

  2. Ooog 1 WAD

Our first WAD together. Ooog's first WAD all together. Dr. DooM's 5th or so. This is made for a DooMer kind of below average. Not much monsters. Lots of lifts. No real maze though. Just a walk through. One hint: In the yellow key hall, there is a red room and blue room. Pick the red room and suck Cyberdemon rocket and nuking floors. The blue one leads you to 3 demons and a medikit. Which one do YOU think is best? Watch out for the Spiderdemon! (in a secret room) I'd like your input about this level. E-mail us with what you think.

  4. No More Mister Nice Guy

This is one of my first wads and the one I've felt is good enough to distribute. It has plenty of potential for ambushes, open spaces and plenty of weapons for good deathmatch play. Also a good co-op or single.

  7. Maze (An unimaginatively named Doom][ Wad!)

I began creating this level with the intention of making it into a 'maze' like dungeon, but as things progressed other ideas became a little more interesting!! I've done quite a few other levels, but none quite as enjoyable as this one!

I haven't thought of an apt theme for it (answers on the back of a postcard please), but I tried to make each section as interesting and as enjoyable as possible! (What a load of rubbish!) However, I think you'll find the level quite a challenge and make sure you find ALL the secret! You may need it! (Any comments welcome!)

  9. CASTLE MENISCUS

    * Years ago I DM'd an AD&D (TM, etc.) game; the Castle Meniscus was one of many castles in the world of Cereberus; if response to this level is good, there may be sequels based on some others. * This game was designed primarily as a Single- Player game, although it is perfectly capable of DEATHMATCH. It may also make a good Cooperative if you play on higher skill levels... * Your goal (aside from survival) is to get 100% of the Secrets. All hidden doors are marked, but some may be VERY subtle, so look closely... * If you play this several times you will recognize that if you go through certain rooms in a certain order, your chances of survival will be much better. Beginners may find this one difficult, but I can can complete it on Ultra-Violence without dying or cheating, so its not too bad. * This is a BIG level, so you may need some horse- power to run it smoothly... my deathmatch mates recommend at LEAST a DX2-66 w/ 16+ MB of RAM... and a good Video card... I personally would recommend at a Pentium; it was built w/ a P-60, Stealth 64 2MB VRAM, and 24MB of RAM...

  12. THE OVERLORD

Fairly big level, with two main areas...a small town, and a castle across the sea.

The main 'feature' is the Overlord (a cyberdemon) and his generals (four revenants) that watch over the town. They shoot at you from the safety of their castle. Easy to dodge their missiles, but don't stand in one place too long.

  13. Mountain

This wad is basically just a single room with a mountain in the middle. You're pretty vulnerable up there but that's where the firepower is to kill the snipers. The deathmatch start positions DON'T give equal advantage. Hey, lemme know.

  14. Modifying Maze

It's tricky to get out of the first room and into the action. The maze at the end is self-modifying so you can't get out the same way you get in. And if you don't have the plazma gun, don't go into the maze. Hey, lemme know.

This is a revised version of the Manor WAD. I fixed a few bugs and added some textures to the bar room. This is a medium size level. It has plentiful monsters and plenty of ammo and health if you're careful. You must find keys or switches to get to the next area, but very few are hidden.

  17. OBSESSED for DOOM II

DOOM II conversion of the original OBSESSED for DOOM I. Two levels designed for single player and Deathmatch. As you will soon find out, I love levels that are difficult with lots of the tough guys. In fact, you could say I'm obsessed with the idea. The levels have been made small and compact for non-stop heart-pounding action during deathmatch play (use -nomonsters).

  18. A real NIGHTMARE ...

This level is designed to be played in *NIGHTMARE* mode only !

Just a little maze, a few sergeants, and a little friendly pumpgun. But a lot of fun, cause you do not know the position of the monsters, even if you have played it before !!!! Every time you turn around, you could look into the two barrels of a sergeant's pumpgun. If you kick one's ass you will meet him again later, but who know's when and where this will happen ? This level becomes very realistic while playing, cause there are just "human monsters". Did you ever seen a Caco-football flying around in the "real world" ? (I mean the other one, you know)

  19. Outpost Hell

The year is 2199. You have just destroyed what was left of hell. You are walking to the Transporter back to Luna when you take one last look behind you. You see blood and corpses everywhere. Exausted, you take one last breath and step into the Transporter. You see the green plasma energy forming around you as you disappear. You rematerialize in a place that is supposed to be Luna, yet it looks nothing like Luna. At least not the Luna you know. You look around you and see nothing but the desolant desert wastelands with a building of some sort to the far south. You take a breath, grab your shotgun, and start walking towards the building. You begin to think what's ahead of you now... what's to come...

  22. Outpost 1

Another quality deathmatch level by me, Marc Bublitz. This one takes place in an outpost. There are several reasons why I particularly like this one: First, I'm kind-of fond of the "Cyber-Attack" ad I've constructed. Secondly, I'm very happy I could get a satisfactory color alignment with one of my ray-traced spaceships. Also, notice the neat gate that I've edited from the MIDBARS texture.

Thanks to my brother, I have monsters in this one now in case you're alone.

One last note: In multi-player mode, the exit is co-operative. I did this so that a disgruntled player couldn't just end the level (and his torment.) The trigger has something to do with an added texture.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
