  3. PSYCHOTIC LANDS

This is a set of pretty difficult DOOM II wads BUT!, they are all possible, even starting with just a pistol and a few shells. The few bits of secret are there just to help, they're not essential. The main key to finishing these wads is discretion! Don't go running around like a headless Imp, and don't try killing the Cyber Demons or the Spider Demons. Every level contains all the weapons EXCEPT THE BFG - this is for big puffs! Take 'em on with a shot gun!!

  4. The Infested Hideout

A medium difficulty 1990's style map set in a base. The design is linear and inspired by id software's maps with some new elements. The goal is simple. Fight your way out of this base! ... There are also 8 secrets to be found and a bonus map named the War Room which contains a battle with Arachnotrons and a Cyberdemon.

  13. Friendly Pain Elemental

A small experiment level, the first of its kind (as far as I know). In vanilla Doom, there's a limit to 21 lost souls, so by trapping them in a room you can make pain elementals harmless. I set out to make a level that required you to protect a pain elemental and lead it through the level, so that it could fly around an obstacle and open a door or something for you. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to design the level so that it could be led to do anything, so you don't actually have to protect it. The level is still decent without having to do that so I decided to upload it. The pain elemental in the first room makes a good shield.

  17. Revenge

NOT just an upgrade to my original GENERATR.WAD! I've change a lot... Even if you've played the original... don't miss this!
    - New ending!
    - Cool lighting effects added!
    - More (new) traps/tricks/monsters
    - Monsters under the bed!
    - Hear the funace in the basement running! (ooooooh)
    - Now takes place at night.... scarry
    - Added support for multi-player and Deathmatch
    - Added difficulty levels
    - Textures aligned / much better looking levels (should have always been)
    - Did I say monsters under the bed?
    - Levels flow into each other better (so what)

You return home to find your house infested with things worse than your (kids/in-laws/neighbors/ cousins... you pick). It's your duty to weed them out then find the passage they used to enter your life.

You find yourself teleported to the corporation responsible for selling humanity out to the hell spawn (no... not congress) and it too is over-run with nasties. Kill-em all and get past the guardian to their underground lair.

Finding the entrance to their domain, you descend and take on the minions of hell. You must deactivate the generater machine and make your way home through the main distribution teleporter.

Ahhhhh... home at last. You've got your revenge. But wait... Doom has it's own revenge on you......

  21. Eternal Revelation (DEMO)

This is a three-levels demo of full version of Eternal Revelation megawad. Who know when it will be finished, but you can play first three levels right now. These levels will force you to feel an atmosphere of Eternal III again.

To play this PWAD you need an original ETERNAL.WAD.

You can play it with 'vanilla' DOOM2.EXE or with any doom2 compatible port with good emulation of software tricks.

ZDoom/GZDoom, any versions of PrBoom/PrBoom-Plus with software rendering or GLBoom-Plus 2.5.0.1+ are strongly recommended.

WARNING: You should not use glboom at all and glboom-plus older than 2.5.0.1 with this PWAD to avoid tons of HOMs. (the same for the original Eternal III)

    Command line: glboom-plus -iwad doom2.wad -file eternal.wad reternal.wad -complevel 2 gzdoom -iwad doom2.wad -file eternal.wad reternal.wad doom2 -file eternal.wad reternal.wad

  23. The Water Reclaimation Facility

You have been investigating a series of homicides. The sheriff is frightened that an evil Satanic cult has moved into the area and has taken refuge in the old abandoned water reclaimation facility outside of town. He made you his deputy and ordered you to go to the reclaimation facility to recon any possible cult activity. He hands you a pistol and bids you farewell. You eventually make it to the facility shortly after nightfall. You slowly climb down a broken water main and enter the darkness not knowing what horrors await you.

3 fun level here. First level is a base with many monsters and a brige maez above the magma. You must kill Kunun to beat level. Second level you must kill 4 archvile, its not that easy. Third level is the hardest as you face the entire hellspawn crew on earthland. If you can beat it, just use the switch to get out of jail.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
