  1. PIK (Please, it kills!)

A weak version of what has yet to come, im going to eventually make all 32 levels, and keep in mind that these short levels will become better and longer. Also, the intentions of these levels is to be clasic gameplay with ALL the tricks in the book (without using a source port) So i say, get ready for olden day play!

  3. Quad Wads - Doom II version

All three of these wads are designed the same; one for Doom 1, one for Doom 2, and one for Heretic. It is a fast paced level that usually results in a lot of frags. The layout of the walls and transporters is identical in all three levels so if you learn one, you've learned them all. After many hours of,... ah,... "testing", we've found that this is one of the best layouts for deathmatch play.

  4. D.S.S. "Phoenix" (a.k.a. 'Doomzaak')

This wadfile is situated at the Delft Student Corps fraternity building D.S.S. "Phoenix". This means EVERYTHING you see exists for real (including the violence)! All Doom graphics have been changed into student fraternity related graphics, like bottles of wine and barrels of beer ('Pils' in Dutch). Your enemies wear correct clothing and have colourful clubties (press F1 to see them together, and their names in Dutch).
(I used a few graphics from other games: 4 or 5 wall patches from trinity.wad, the chicken enemy was imported (not overly successful) from Heretic, and the new Heavy Weapons Dude still looks a lot like the... Heavy Weapons Dude).
D.S.S. "Phoenix" exists of three levels: a ground floor with the 'conversation halls', kitchen, dining hall and some smaller rooms; first floor with fraternity Senate and Phoenix Commissaries rooms, library, rooftop terrace; and cellar with lots of service rooms, carpenter workshop, heating systems, wine cellar, fraternity administration and the disco 'Lorre'.
This wadfile has been constructed to look as realistic as possible and was meant only for fraternity members, even if they didn't like computer games (be happy I changed my mind and uploaded it to the internet). This means it is not very difficult to complete the game, only difficulty settings 4 and 5 are tough. Also, very few special Doom features like moving floors have been implemented. You won't miss them, though, there is enough to see. (You really MUST see what I did to the 'Fist' weapon!)

Much better than DXWS. Much, much better. It's fun, and hard. Really hard. That ending can be a bitch, but use your head and you can work it out.

  14. Quail

It was all over. You had singlehanded cleared earth of every scum-blood-dirt sucking alien bastard ever to hit the face of the univers. Or so you thought. As you had probably realised as you were fighting your way through halls, corri- dors and entire cities of hell and horror these alien reptiles had a rather advan- ced technology. And so years before we were ever going to invent time travel they had all ready done it. The few places you did not strike them they used their short time in making time travel experiments. And now they want your head on a stick for being too damn superior. Blasting three rockets into the superbrain almost took your last efforts, but still you had the strenght to drag yourself to a teleporter, adjust your wrist communica- tor to the exact coordinates of the UAC headquarters, or what was left of it, and beam home. Meanwhile those alien arschlocks were con- ducting experiments with their timemachine in order to trap you and beam you back in time to their planet. Right into a play- field of horror and death and humiliation. You would never stand a chance and they would all laugh and spit on you as you would fall to the ground dead! But their machine caught it wrong and send you outside the playfield and into the middle of their smelly bloodinfested world of hate. Here is the chance to prevent all the horror. Kill them now or earth will be for ever doomed. Continue your mission in the original military base, which the fuckers built a model of on the moon (for those who don´t understand; this .wad is exactly the same as E1M9 in DOOM, but with extreme changes in design and textures), deep in the heart of their world. It is simple, do as you did in the "moon-copy" and you will succeed. But remember you are still in their world so there might be more of them!!

  15. RoZinga's Nightmare

    Rozinga's Nightmare !!

This is my "first" wad level, which is a completely *revamped* level first released as Rozinga('s Nightmare) for DOOM I. This level is very complete, sophisticated and bloody !
    It's not a level for beginners !
If you want some peace use -nomonsters !
    -----------------------------------------
You can finish it without Cheating !
    -----------------------------------------
You'll find lots of monsters, gates, acid baths, hidden teleporters, and grey-megaspheres, armours, tons of weapons.
There are FEW traps ( I said few, not NONE!), while the whole level is CLEAR : you always know who or what is killing you !
There are millions of death match starts ! You can find the BFG9000 in the last room, so you'll be able, if you're interested in, to go back to first room and toast every form of life 8-) !!!

  16. PRISON

Welcome to prison moon base Delta 4. You've been called in because of a rather out-of-control riot is taking place. And boy are the guards happy to see you! Well, maybe not, because they're a little trigger happy now that all carnage has broken loose. At least you know where to find ammo; right next to their dead corpses, where they've stock piled as much as they can to protect themselves.

Two weeks ago, your best friend (a Mariner, like you) had been sent to investigate a suspicious building. There were rumors... Until now, there are no news about him or about his mission. The worst is feared. So, YOU are to be sent to find him - or, at least, his body - and fulfill his mission: investigate and 'disinfect' all the place.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
