  2. The Rescue (The Monastery, episode 5)

Remember the fourth episode, The Watering-Place. Gal Mac Porter told you it was the last mission you had to complete. But he forget to tell you something very important. He ordered your brother to go back to 15th century in the Carpathian Mountains, and try to strengthen the rebels by killing some more Hell Order agents, In spite of his promise to keep your brother away from these time-travel and risky missions. He is too young to die. Coming back to your era, he said that he couldn't do anything else, and that this mission was a matter of life and deaf for your rebelion group. He added that unfortunately he had no news about your brother for days. So, you to decide to go back there and try to rescue your brother. You hope he is still alive and could killed many Hell Order agents. But a bad thinking borns in your mind Why did Gal Mac Porter give such a dangerous mission to your brother in spite of his promise, what kind of reason did he found ? You must not loose a second, try to rescue your brother. You'll ask for explanations when you're back.

  4. The Power Plant ver 1.5

A new twist on pwad deathmatch creation.. a PWAD *MADE* for team play! some of the stuff you just can't get without a partner ( Like the BFG ) The BFG is a Trap, you can get TO it alone, but you can't LEAVE it alone. ::Grin:: ( Phrasing completely intentional )

The exit room has more than one switch, ONLY ONE IS THE TRUE EXIT! the rest lower the ceiling... ::Grin:: see how eager you are to run for the exit now coward...

    - New in 1.5 For some reason, 1.0 didn't work... (maybe its because I forgot to rebuild the nodes before I released it to the public? naaah....) Anyhow, it works now. Made a few changes as you'll see....

  9. Pain Hill (PAINHILL.WAD)

    New map for DOOM II

A small to mid sized level intended as both a gut wrenching Single Player or Coop. experience and a great deathmatch battleground. The name comes from the small hill in the center or the outdoor area. I have given great effort into creating a very good looking level with all the textures aligned properly. The pros might find a few areas that I missed though.

In single and coop. you will find yourself battling demons in a variety of arenas best suited to their fighting abilities. From a pistol dual in dark tunnels, to a wild romp with a revenant, and just possibly a small taste of hell.

For Deathmatch the level is designed to open up fairly well and allow a variety of entrances and exits to the main battle areas. All of the weapons are available, although some may be harder to get than others. I have not been able to test deathmatch with more than 2 players, so let me know how it is.

  10. QZar Teams!

This is a level based on the QZar in Berekly, CA. It has an arcade area, birthday area, secret bathroom, the breifing room w/ map, and of course the arena. You are supposed to have teams like this Green\Indigo vs. Red\Brown This is for the green and red teams. Once you have entered the arena you can't come out. The object is to have one person on the team protect the base while the other person attacks the other teams base. On each side, if the person is succsessful in taking over the base they will recieve a green armor. You can go up and hide in the green-side lift, but you can't get down so we don't recommend it. Have fun!!

  11. ROMAN.WAD

This is a fairly involved environment designed primarily for a single-person adventure. I've spent a lot of time providing just the right amount of ammo & health necessary to the accomplished favor and download it, play it, die repeatedly, and give me some feedback. May blood and sweat give the truth of your eyes a stinging red hue. ON TO THE KILL!!

  13. Rooftops.Wad

Inspired by episodes of TJHooker when ol' Bill Shatner hurtles his toupe packin' body over numerous chasms to snag the bad guy.

    Made for Doom2, Map01

    This wad serves several purposes.

It is large, and may not run well on slower computers with monsters, or during Deathmatch. For this reason I have mad the Easy settings have no monsters. In this difficulty setting you must jump across 9 rooftops in order to reach the exit. Consider it a test of your Doom agility. Very challenging.

Then there are monsters on the Hurt Me Plenty setting. Very tough to kill monsters AND jump across these rooftops. If you can do this, you're a STUD.

Then there's UltraViolence. Even more monsters. If you can do this, then you are a Doom ANIMAL!

Then there's Deathmatch. You can do it cooperatively against the monsters, or (as I suggest) play without. The level is large, so it works best with four people to keep the Frag count up. But if you like a good hunt, this is for you.

  16. RIGEL I

This WAD is my best one to date. Shadow/lighting effects, difficulty level support - the works. It makes a killer deathmatch wad and will work just fine for co-op and single play also. My goal was to defy the common opinion that you can't have a great deathmatch WAD and have it be fun to play co-op or solo also. Well, try this one! :) Comments, good and bad, are greatly appreciated.

WARNING: Ultra Violent is REALLY REALLY hard. If you can get through it without dying send me a LMP of it! I'd love to see you do it. It is NOT impossible, just very hard.

  17. Pistol.wad, a wad for Doom2.

This wad replaces episode 1, is quite large, and features a lot of twisty passages, big rooms and violence. The layout is reasonably interesting; most things interconnect, one way or another. There aren't any misaligned textures - I hate seeing that - or pits that you can't get out of. There are a few secret areas, but none that you need to find to be able to complete the level. You do have to flip nearly all the switches, though.

The "gimmick," I suppose, is that you'll have to go nearly the entire wad with nothing better than your trusty pistol (and guts of steel, natch). There's nothing here you can't kill - but you won't be able to kill everything, or finish every room, the first time you encounter it. If you hate wads in which you need to pay attention and dodge a lot, DON'T download this!

  19. RUNRIOT.WAD

I decided I wanted to make a level with a wooden theme, so I made runriot.wad. It is supposed to be difficult, with loads of enemies, so it is a challenge to complete. I have never done it on UV but given the time, I could (I think). The demo proves it can be done and shows where a couple of the secrets are. The file is RIOT.LMP.

  20. The Remains of Hell

Before the first DOOM missions, you were one of the ones "voluntarily" sent through the portal that caused so many problems in the first place. You were immediately captured and tortured repeatedly. (long expanse of time skipped) After the end of DOOM 2, with many of the structures destroyed, you were transferred to some underground caverns. During the confusion, you managed to slip a pistol in your pocket. Now, all you have to do is escape, and hopefully find your way back home. (Note: This is a different person than the marine in DOOM, but my drawing skills are inadequate to change the look of him. If anyone can send me new graphics that I like I'll put them in.) This is a completely new DOOM 2 level, it was not a DOOM 1 level that was converted. See the extra info on the bottom for more ramblings.

  21. PPalace.wad

level 1 is based on UCSD's Price Center. 3 keys, One Cyberdemon. level 2 is an obnoxious maze. Hit the buttons to raise the floor to exit. 2 keys, 2 Cyberdemons, 2 Spidermasterminds, 1 Massive Crushing Ceiling with cool Disco Lights. level 3 is very loosely based on the Warren Apt. complex at UCSD. 3 keys, no big monsters. 4 part jump, invisible floor. Exit by killing John Romero level 4 is Nye's old house. Very Japanese. It's an architectural wonder. Only one monster.

  22. Radiation Processing Plant

Large radioactive substance processing plant that's been overrun by hell-spawn. Large, open- plan warehouse section. Ideal for the Doomer looking for a bit of a blast. Also suits co-op netplay (like anyone plays it), but probably a no-no for deathmatch (I woulda made a dm wad, but... long story). It's a bit linear, but hey, it's only my first wad, so go easy! You'll have to look real hard to find the super-shotgun without cheating.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
