  1. Demon Eclipse: Episode 1 - Doorway to Abbadon

This is the first epsisode of a 18 (maybe 32) level Megawad I will be working on. Each map has it's own Deathmatch Map including within the main map itself to allow easy deathmatching and fun =).

I've never made doom maps before, so these are my first 6. They turend out decent, though the later maps tends to be a lot more detailed than the first few. I have gone back to add details, though.

These maps are designed for Doomers of all experience levels. On skill 1 and 2, the gameplay is pretty relaxed; designed for beginners. On skill 3, it's a bit more of a challenge, like some of the later DOOM 2 maps. On skill 4 (and 5 if you're crazy), there will be swarms of monsters. This was designed for more experienced doom players. Though non of these maps are quite as hard as Those found in Alien Vendetta or Plutonia Experiment. Later levels will reach the relative difficulty of those withing Alien Vendetta (perhaps?).

-TIPS: Many of the maps are UAC-facilities and there Are many computer consoles. Many of them will Activate some sort of switch. Others will reveal secret areas to you. Make sure to check them. There are numerous secrets with each map. On Ultraviolent and Nightmare, it's very important that you find them, for they give you much of the needed health and ammo.

  2. Jester's Enigma

A small but complex map. Probably takes about 10 minutes to complete on your first go, but can be quite challenging, especially on the harder difficulty levels. Bad guys range from small to large and have a tendancy to appear right behind you when you least expect it.

This is literally a maze of keys and switches. Be careful now ;D

  16. Darknation's Wacky Adventures in Impse or Dnwaii (pronounced 'denwhy')

Okay, in reality there's no story. I had a bunch of textures, and I had a bunch of imp sprites, so I smashed them all together and here's what came out. It's two maps, btw. You don't have to read any more if you don't want (though I doubt most people have even gotten this far).

The Real Story: You are Darknation, secret agent guy for the government of some country nobody gives a shit about (France or Norway or something). Some big government guys who probably wear fancy suits and dark sunglasses (and those thingies in their ears, radios or cell phone dealies or whatever) have just gotten word that a bunch of experiments have gone horribly, horribly wrong in some undisclosed location (never saw that coming, did you?). Your mission, should you chose to accept it (you don't have a choice anyway), is to infiltrate the base and kill the leader imp dudes (you'll know when you beat them because the map will end).

Sadly the only way you could get into the facility was via one of those crates the UAC is famous for. Once you bust out of it you should be good to go. It's time to kill some god damn dirty furries! Oh, I mean imps.

  20. Deus Vult

    My first map.

A large, two-themed level created for Co-op, inspired by Hell Revealed and Alien Vendetta. Emphasizes large, well-choreographed fights. Exceptionally calibrated for Single Player.

Deus Vult starts you off in an underground tech base and will eventually plunge you into the depths of Dante's Inferno in front of your eyes. Difficulty holds up to the extremes of HR. Legions of monsters. 150 minute [estimated] par time.

The map can be played in two distinct configurations:

Config 1 - Split into four sublevels for people who do not have patience to play through large maps, or do not own a high-end PC (<1.8 GHZ). Also good for co-op play, since smaller levels lag less. Designed to be completable from scratch. *Runs from Map 01-04.*

Config 2 - The full monty, the unabridged version of Deus Vult, for people who likes big maps. Designed to be completable from scratch. WARNING: Needs an EXTREMELY STRONG LIMIT REMOVING SOURCEPORT. *Runs on Map 05.*

  24. Floating Buildings v1.1

This was originally a contribution to the "Wad-in-a-Week" contest in 2000 at newdoom.com. Though, as they couldn't figure out, how to play this, they decided not to release it at all. Though, it can be solved as I tested it well with EDGE 1.24 and 1.27. It actually is my first map I ever made, and I think, it is good enough for a public release rather than laying unnoticed on my harddisc forever. Hence, here it is. Have some fun with it!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
