Imp Encounter: Second Edition

This map is not like regular maps in that you can't play it (unless you edit and recompile the scripts). It's sort of like an interactive fanfic, so just watch and enjoy. It only takes around 2:30 to run.
This is the second edition of impenc.wad, it's not quite as censored as the previous one.

This is a map I made after playing a Helm's Deep map for Counter-Strike. As far as looks go, I based on pretty much entirely on the CS map (which was pretty accurate as far as I know). In terms of gameplay, don't expect the marines to kill everything for you, you still have a lot of killing to do yourself. Also, the level will slow down at a few points, so be warned. If you have a lower end machine it may beg for mercy if you try and play this.66 downloads

This wad is a sequel to ALPHA and BETA which were never released. So the story won't make much sense to you, but here it is anyway. It has been four months now since Linguica cryogenically froze himself and now he is awake. His psychic data link informs him that the same demons are back. They've taken over the weapons factory. Be on the lookout for the simple fake slopes, the fake 3D floors, and the fake mirror. The demos show a walkthrough of the level on easy mode. MURDEROUS INTENT

The moon, the stars, the planets. Many nights you spent gazing skyward with dreams of what lay beyond the place you call home. Every childhood thought that you could remember was of going to outer space and exploring strange new worlds.
By the time you were Eighteen, the Earth was a paranoid society. Much of the resources that used to be used for space travel were now being used as defense from iminent invasion. This in mind, you decided to join the forces, and see some other planet. Mars would be great.
Your first job was security at a small mining outpost on Mars. Not the most interesting job, but the smell of Martian air was enough to make it all worthwhile. However, when unknown occurences started happening, and you started asking questions, the higher ups did not take kindly to this. You suspected that there was something amiss, so you packed a pistol with you on the latest assignment.
It was suspicious. Apparently, some beast had killed a marine only metres away from the outpost, and yet, this was the first you had heard about it all. As you lead the way, lieutenants Biggs and Wedge behind you muttered between themselves. You figured it was a trap of some kind. Now might be a good time to quit the job, make your way to the city and get off of Mars.
You here a click behind you, as Wedge readies his sidearm.
"I'm sorry I have to do this."
"Yeah, you were just getting in too deep where you don't belong."
Lucky for you that you had the sense to bring a pistol.

Hell's Arena

A large outdoor room that over time, gets filled with various monsters. This is not just another arena level with one big gray room and a million medi-kits. There is attention to detail (especially in the first couple of rooms). The ammo is mostly in one large cache and health is limited! The idea of this level was to be a challenge. I can almost guarantee that the first time you play this, the back of your skull will be blown out by a rocket. :)8 downloads

DOOM Legacy Water & 3-D Floor together

While testing out DOOM Legacy's 3-D water and 3-D floors I thought, "Can you have BOTH?! Nah..." but tried it anyway. The result: a room, with a real basement filled with water! You can swim around in it of course, and go to the room with the BFG which I modeled after a similar section in Quake II's 1st level. The teleporter can be entered at any height if you're swimming into it. AND, push the switch and the water drains!! =) Also the nukage pool in front of you when you start will hurt you while you swim in it. If I had just tagged the actual sector itself to hurt you, you'd only get hurt when standing on the bottom, not when swimming.16 downloads

I think this time it'll be different. What am I talking about? Merely a remix of the one of the most popular FPS levels ever, Doom's E1M1. I didn't try and do anything new in the map in-so-much as to reinterpet it.

It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long. -

Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo.
