    A small map created using only textures from Noir texture pack. It's quite dark, scary and pretty difficult. It was sort of inspired by Lab X-18 from Stalker and has quite a few design aspects borrowed from it.

Initially began as a map for Community Chest 3, which was originally proposed as a ZDoom-based project, but then it was decided that it would revert to Boom-Compatible, so the map couldn't be included (and, chances are, would never have been finished in time anyway).

    It is a pretty difficult map, I scale it to be challenging and just not a gun, shoot, win arena.

    In early 2013, I watched a video of an obscure FPS game called "Exploding Lips", a game that pretty much made no sense and pretty much sucked, yet for some reason I liked it anyways, so I decided to make something inspired by the game.

    Mayhem Mansion, you explore a haunted mansion full of giant disembodied lips, TV with legs, angry books, and other things trying to kill you for no reason whatsoever, but don't worry because you have your trusty weaponry and magic!

    After I had made the mod and released it on halloween 2013, sometime in 2014 I decided to expand the mod further, adding many more levels, enemies, powerups, weapons, and more, adding several more hours of gameplay. Now explore beyond just the mansion, clean out the infestation of the city, discover what is hidden within the nearby volcano, and ultimately find the person behind the mayhem!

  17. THE NAME OF THIS MAP WAS ORIGINALLY 'FUCK ORTHAGONAL LINES' BUT THEN I DECIDED I DIDN'T WANT THAT SO

    I draw a layout on a paper within five minutes, then sketched it out in SLADE 3, copypasted it twice, and made a map out of it. The result's not terrible! Also texturing is hard.

    This map is also in DUMP 2, so as a result, the map is fairly bulletproof to jumping and crouching, in the interest of the map playing the same between all the supported ports. Vertical rocket jumping will still break everything, though.

    The demo is partially there to show you that yes, I have beaten the damn thing, and also to show you that you don't have to do it in the order techbase -> cave -> hell. The map's actually pretty open-ended in how you do things. (9:55, UV, 100% kills, 0% secrets)

    Par time is 10 minutes. Props if you get it under 9 with 100% kills.

    NOTE: Requires cc4-tex.wad to run (WITH BRICKPLA). My understanding of it is that it's been updated a few times, so just to be sure, check the md5sum of your cc4-tex.wad, and if it matches what's below, you're good to go. Otherwise, you'll need to update.

    ... or just check for BRICKPLA, but that's too easy.

    NOTE 2: You'll still get a couple missing textures if you play the mod in a non-ZDoom port. Don't worry about those - they're in ZDoom-exclusive easter eggs.

    A techbase in the middle of nowhere. The gameplay concentrates on fighting with the basic weapons (no rockets or plasma). The playing area is limited to a square of 2048x2048 units. Jumping is allowed but not required. New music made by me for this project is also included.

  24. MBF Invasion

    An old attempt to recreate Skulltag/Zandronum invasion mode in MBF source port. The invasion control mechanism was done in late 2011, and the map has been completed at 01.10.2013 (originally called invaders.wad). It was only released on RDC forums and nowhere else/. I completely forgot to release it on Doomworld, so here it is (though I've made some balance modifications, so it's not compatible with invaders.wad)

      I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

      Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

      A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

      Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

      I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
