  2. Mountain Explosion Ver.1

Mountain Explosion: UAC experiments on a Quantum Gate Nullifer have backfired. A resulting overload and explosion has decimated Fort Epsilon, an underground UAC installation, and opened a gateway to Hell. A special response team has been dispatched and you are part of that team.

You as the team's most decorated member have been assigned to enter the Fort through its surface water treatment plant. You are to proceed down through the east wing of the Fort and attempt to reach the Quantum Gate Nullifer in order to shut it down. The main force has already managed to infiltrate the Forts security wing and has deactivated the locking mechanisms on the Water Treatment Plant's main door.

Note: This is the first 3 maps. 6 more maps are planned. All maps are tech-base though some will feature a mix between Hell and tech.

  5. MAYhem 2013

In response to it's wildly ignored predecessor, MAYhem 2013 is a collection of maps all made in the month of May. This time we were given the limitation of using only 2 monster types per map. Also we beat our previous streak of procrastination by 4 months! Count 'em.

  6. Metastasis

The map has no linear design, and it's ubicated in a abstract area. It's nothing awesome or something you've ever seen before, but i think it's fairly enjoyable. Beware some nasty difficult traps here and there.

  7. Cosa 'e mandinga

A compilation of old vanilla maps by myself, most of them unreleased for the archives. I made many changes and fixes, but I tried to keep the classic feeling, although some are heavily modified. All maps are playable from pistol start, but ammo may be tight sometimes. You'll need a limit-removing sopurce-port. Maps were tested with Zdoom and PrBoom. Vavoom ruins especial effects made with game bugs. But you should NOT jump or crouch in this levels.

  13. North By Doom 2

This was a sort of experimental concept map. Basically, what I did was find snippets of each level in the doom2 IWAD and make a one-level wad from scratch where you progress through in one cardinal direction, north. I stayed true to Doom II's architechture and design. Because I stayed true to that style, don't expect any crazy cool design or gameplay gimmicks or anything eye-opening (remember that Doom II's levels had texture misalignments too!). The way each area progresses, you'll always be going north. Hence the title.

It's completely linear, so if you hate that style I'd advise not playing this.

  15. Mine filled with methane

A relatively large map (303 monsters on UV to keep you busy) with a bunch of nonlinearity. There is more than one way to complete the map and you don't have to visit all areas to do it but exploration is encouraged and will make your life easier thanks to different weapons and powerups you may find in "optional" places. This wad includes MAPINFO lump which disables jumping - please do NOT override this as you are not supposed to jump in this map. Action takes place in a mine filled with methane... and hellspawn! Try finishing with 100% monsters and secrets! I hope you will enjoy playing the map as much as I enjoyed making and playtesting it!

  17. Mescalina / Mescaline

Lacking time and ideas, I decided to build a small and simple level. In the end, though, the map has turned not so small and simple, and I believe that it'll keep you playing 20-30 minutes. I didn't want to make another futurist map about invaded UAC bases and all the other commonplaces. So I improvised something with Doom's organic textures and a trippy sky. The result is maybe a little shocking, but if you've pla- yed my other maps Hachisch and Peyote you'll recognize fast the style. Be warned: this map is named "Mescaline", but it plays more like cocaine...

  18. Monochromatic Nightmare

A single player level designed for the Monochrome Mapping Project on the Doomworld Forums - http://tinyurl.com/bp2od5n.

This is a Monochromatic Black & White experience that will test your perception. The idea was to design a clean map devoid of detail but retaining character. The WAD is designed exclusively with Zdoom in mind as it does make use of Slopes, Stacked 3D sectors and ACS scripts.

As well as making heavy use of Da Werecat's textures I have also added my own black and white door, lift, floor and brick textures.

Screenshots can be found here: http://sdrv.ms/QnkSyG

    Enjoy,

    Dave

  21. MAYhem 2012

One fine day two years ago MionicDonut decided that a megawad made in one month would be a nifty idea. Then he forgot about it for two years. Before doing so again the idea was pushed forth that the month of May 2012 would be an open call to make some boom maps, and put everything together into one 32-map megawad. What was not accounted for is that May is a busy time for people doing college exams so they can become lawyers and businessmen. Accordingly, only 12 maps we completed by the end of the month. But they are an enjoyable bunch of maps, and we are still about five times more time efficient than the CC4 crowd.

    At least we have that.

    The maplist is!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
