  1. Somewhere in Time

"Somewhere in Time" is a set of 15+1 pure vanilla Doom 2 maps, inspired by the greatest of this category, most importantly Reverie, Revolution! and Scythe.

My primary aim was to create extraordinary maps, reaching the boundaries of gameplay, design - and Chocolate Doom!

Sadly, this was not done perfectly, as I lost motivation after losing some maps, but in the end, I'm satisfied anyway.

Moreover, the significance of this project for me is that it followed through not only my "career" as an improving Doom map designer but a huge portion of my life as well, which full of changes and improvements, so whenever I check out these maps, I can clearly remember, when and why did I do them.

This may not mean so much for you, but in the end, the only thing that matters is that I hope you enjoy this humble (and hopefully unique) set I created - dedicated to the Doom community!

The name comes from the legendary 1986 album of Iron Maiden; I thought it's fitting because of the varying themes of the WAD, and the time difference between the creation of the maps!

  2. Cabro's legacy

Cabro's Legacy is a compilatory megawad, created in the year 2014 as an homage to the Cabro's mapping tournaments. It contains maps from the top three winners from each year. These tournaments started in the now extinct Cabro's website in the Y2K, and were later continued in the Arcades3D website until the year 2015. They were organized by Cabro in their first entries; and later continued by the Arcades3D users Mojon Man and Wraith, respectively. Rules has changed over the course of time, but these maps are mostly in classic format, with the main additions (and the only two allowed, in later editions) being the sky and music.

All 42 maps included here must be understood and played as individual entries, because they were originally conceived as independent maps. Upon opening this megawad, you'll start the game in a "Portal level", from where you can access to all maps available.

  3. The DOOM Tribute Project

This is a re-interpretation of the original DOOM & DOOM II levels. It pretty much is a retelling of the DOOM story in a more up-to-date format. This wad contains 34 levels and it is an attempt to recreate the original DOOM maps while still keeping the classic DOOM experience. This wad includes cut-scenes (that are skipable), smooth DOOM weapon animations, a couple of new weapons including the railgun with sniper scope, and a second pistol you can pick up and go Lara Croft on some demon scum. For the most part, it's a tribute to DOOM. Jumping and Crouching may be required. Any addons will be available on www.zdoom.org within the DOOM Tribute thread under the Project portion of the ZDoom forums.

Overall i think the map has done me a great favor and more maps will come for sure.

  8. Estranged

Estranged is a 32 level megawad that uses stock Doom & Doom2 textures, I would describe the levels as cleanly detailed with a variety of environments. Levels are playable from pistol start.

Story: You are a marine stationed on a UAC mining facility on a desolate world on the edge of the known galaxy. Whilst performing routine operations you lose communication with the main base, upon your return you find that demons have overrun the facilities. You send a distress signal but are faced with little choice but to venture inside and do battle with the hellspawn.

  9. Valiant: Vaccinated Edition

This edition of Valiant strips out all of the MBF DeHackEd work from the original release, which means this version is compatible with gameplay mods!

If you really disliked the additional monsters and weapons in Valiant, you could also play this version as an alternative, since none of that content is present. Have fun! It's probably going to be a bit easy, though.

  12. 2048 UNLEASHED (Pcorf community project 2)

Welcome to 2048 UNLEASHED - An all new 32 level single player megawad for DOOM 2 put together by various authors in the community. Known as the Pcorf Community Project 2 at the Doomworld forums.

The aim of this project was simple and it was to create a 2048x2048 Boom compatible level for DOOM 2 using the Whispers of Satan texture wad. 10 months later I received 49 levels divided into two episodes, the first 2048 UNLEASHED which contains the 32 main levels and the second ALL HOPE FOR PEACE which contains 17 additional levels.

  13. Swift Death

Swift Death is an extremely hard megawad, calibrated for speedrunners. I recommanded for novice players to play in "easy" ("Toilet Break", or "Soft Event"). SD is realized in speedmapping sessions, for the most parts of maps. These maps are generally small, and contain on average 75 monsters. They are also compatible for the duel / deathmatch.

50 Shades of Graytall is a project designed around creating maps with interesting architecture and gameplay despite being limited to a selection of arguably hideous textures. Started in response to a silly post made in the Editing forum which led I and several others to attempt maps using the (slightly edited) rules in the post, hoping the result would be decent. Eventually opened up to the community and here we are! Hope you enjoy the maps and if you don't hey Doom projects cant be graytall the time

Valiant is a MBF megawad for Doom II featuring 32 new maps spanning 5 themed episodes. Each map is designed to be played from a pistol start, but some effort has been made to support continuous play as well.

Additionally, Valiant includes a number of new monsters and weapons implemented through an extensive MBF format DeHackEd patch. As a result, Valiant is not compatible with gameplay mods, and can only be played in ports with full MBF DeHackEd support. At present, these include ZDoom, GZDoom, PrBoom-plus (complevel 11), and Eternity. Zandronum is also supported through DECORATE.

  25. 32in24-14: How the Hamburglar Stole Christmas

"...It was the pinnacle of burgerdom. Finally, the long summer's study in Aberdonian cuisine and bovine mating rituals had yielded of a supple, juicy tower clad with buns too good to slap and the fattest sow the YEDS had ever sewn. The chief engineer-turned-overlord of foodstuffs, Percival Mechacook, deemed it necessary to awaken Shaitoken from his long winter's slumber to celebrate this yuletide achievement. Together, they would drive the Yeoman Engineers of Software and Design into a golden age of quality dining and unencumbered festivity. Christmas would take on a whole new meaning, and this time there would be no mistakes...

The burger was transported cross-country with 48 (respectably delicious) dummy-meals for protection. It was these meals that prevented the dreaded Hamburglar from eating everything in the back of the truck, his gristly whiskers lapping up the meat with fevered relish. Instead, the disgusting tramp of a man was only able to consume a whole 7 of the burgers before his stomach gave way and he was forced to ship the rest of them to his top secret Threecock Christmas Facilities for quality assessment.

One of these facilities now houses The Prize... but how long before it goes bad, or is eaten by the Hamburglar? Will this meaty masterstroke be the saviour of Christmas, or its ultimate undoing?"

    ...

And the Hamburglar puzzled, till his puzzler was sore Then thought of a thing that he hadn't before! "Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from McDonalds." "Maybe Christmas... perhaps... cannot be robbled!" And what happened then? Well... in Doomworld they say, That the Hamburglars hidden penis grew three sizes that day!

And then he was arrested for lewd conduct with Joe-Ilya in the men's room of a McDonalds. The Yeoman Engineers and Designers of Software carried out the arrest and swiftly carried out a military tribunal. Hampton C. Burglar was found guilty of billions of counts of burger larceny and poorly concealing his penis in the titlepic and sentenced to death by firing squad.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b
