  1. DOOM: A Megawad in Two Weeks

The idea behind this was to create a classic DOOM Megawad in two weeks. You can follow the development of the project at this thread in the doomworld.com forums http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39487

As calling the project DOOM 3 should be way too ambitous, we droped the idea, but the mod follows the plot right where Final DOOM lefts out. There are multiple references and alusion to elements from other chapters in the DOOM series, I'll send a special prize to the first who sends me a list of them all.

In case you like to add some background before playing you can read the plot right here (I put it now so you don't get tired before reading it).

But before that I want to advise you that jumping is not allowed.

  2. Core

A (almost) TC that follows the idea of making a series of small maps with a storyline about hellspawn and such (similar to doom2). It was supposed to follow the "classic" doom2 style gameplay, so it should feel like doom2.

  3. Scimitar

20 shortish levels split into three episodes: Rear Entry, Knee Deep in the Sludge and Into the Blood

"The Source" - That's what they call it. No one quite knows what it is, apart from the birthing grounds of the monstrous army that invaded your planet. Your team was sent to destroy it, but the way in was heavily guarded, and now only you survive. You'll have to find another way in...

The maps are all relatively small with 2 min par times as average. all are designed to be demo friendly, possible from a pistol start and reasonably challenging on UV.

  11. Scythe 2. Version 2

This is the sequel to my old megawad "Scythe". Expect better looking and bigger levels. unfortunately, the last 3 levels are missing, because I am so lazy and I haven't been satisfied with my attempts at making map28. I _might_ release the last 3 maps some time in the future, but do not count on it. (Update: the last 3 maps are now completed!)

  16. BELLA II

35 Levels for Zdoom, Plus 5 secret levels. Each level has all new challenges awaiting you. Plenty of use of the features in Zdoom like stealth enemies. There are also some new enemies capable of peforming the most unexpected tricks. There is no scripting this wad because I havent figured it out. The new enemies are a Spectre in one of the secret levels and a deadly floating Romero head. The five Secret levels like the two secret levels in the original Bella are all stunning. There is also a practice level included. Many styles of maps are included, from base to hellish to spaceship.

  20. Project Mars Base

The first mission to the moons of mars was a 2 man team of space marines who were trying to see if the moons were able to sustain the UAC's new space station. The team landed, they report every thing seems fine, but the shuttle they were in had been destryoed in the landing. After a day the team had failed to report back. The last thing they reported informed you that they had used charges to break through a small opening in the rocks, because they had detected a life form in a tunnel on the other side. The UAC sends you to rescue the team and check on thier progression of the project. What you find to your supprise is the crashed suttle, and the cave that they had tunneled into, but only one of the marines, and he was laying in front of you dying. The last few things he tells you is, the other marine was eaten by some beast that came through this gate. You see that he had destroyed the gate befor he was attacked. The last marine dies, you are now alone in this strange place built on alien soil. You can hear some noise comming from the tunnels, you try and radio back and notice that the transmition is very unclear. You figure that the base back on earth will send up a rescue team to find you... But then you remember, you are the rescue team...!! Oh shit... now what...? Well play the levels and see..!!!!!!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
