  1. Spawn Redux V2.0

    REQUIRES AT LEAST GZDOOM V4.3.1!

A 5 map hub centered around a UAC xenobiological research facility on Epsilon Eridani III.

This redux version of SPAWN fixes the vast majority of bugs which plagued the original version 1.0 of this mod, and (hopefully) only a handful remain. Known bugs include the brightmap for the small cell pack showing up on the alternative HUD instead of the cell pack itself. This will not be fixed, nor will a handful of other bugs that remain as I will be "retiring" from the mapping scene after 22 years.

In addition, I have dialed up the difficulty levels and have overhauled the most difficult skill level.

Balancing in the game has been revised as well, and some areas have been revised in terms of texturing and design.

This game also features a rudimentary achievement system. The list of achievements to "unlock" is as follows:

     1. Discover all secrets 2. Pick up all items 3. Kill all monsters 4. Complete all level stats for the game 5. Find the hidden BFG9000 6. Find the "easter egg" 7. Break all breakable windows in the game 8. Play the game without a backpack 9. Speedrun the game in under 15m45s 10. Complete hard mode by staying above 66 health 11. Complete the game in hard mode in under 40mins

  6. Mayan Mishap

Five maps, loosely Mayan in setting, with an assortment of DeHacked changes to alter monster behavior and a few other things. Notably, some monsters and projectiles are faster than their vanilla counterparts. If you typically play maps on UV, I would definitely recommend HMP for your first playthrough to avoid any potential frustration. Similarly, if you usually play on HMP by default, dropping the difficulty down to HNTR would probably be a good idea. UV is certainly doable on a first playthrough though, if you fancy yourself a challenge.

MBF-compatible port is needed for play. (G)ZDoom recommended, but also designed to work in PrBoom+ at complevel 11.

  10. Speed: The Freestyle Enigma

This is a set of nine Boom-compatible (-complevel 9) speedmaps that I made in roughly three hours each. I was originally hoping to release this once I hit ten maps, but I haven't really had the motivation so I've decided to actually release it instead of just letting it just sit there as another unfinished project. Each of the nine maps has some sort of different idea or gimmick to it, so no two maps really feel the same. Generally speaking, the quality increases further on as I learn to speedmap better. All of the maps (except map03) are on the small side and often feature some tricky close-quarters combat.

  11. Schism

Howdy! Today is my birthday, and I cannot think of a more fitting way to celebrate than with than with the release of my second map, Schism. This'll be a limit-removing Doom 2 map01 replacement. The ramp up in difficulty is pretty steep near the end, so be prepared. Otherwise, this a pretty standard vanilla gameplay map with a tech/ancient ruins theme going on. Two drastically different themes clashing, but with the ever-present Doomguy being the constant as always. Was mainly tested on Crispy Doom, with a few helpers testing it on PRBoom+. All known issues have been corrected as of this date, so if you see anything off about this, shoot it my way so I can properly deal with it before it goes up on /idgames. Tools used were GZDoom Builder for the map editing and Slade. Mainly tested on UV, but difficulty flags are in effect. Co-op starts are in as well. Build time was about a month. None of that three years BS this time around :P

  12. Sucker Punch

Sucker Punch features 9 small single-player maps for Doom II, tested in PrBoom+, ZDoom, GZDoom and Doom Retro. The WAD is made up from three mini-episodes of three maps each which escalate from easy (with green details) to harder (yellow) to hardest (red). The maps should take no longer than two or three minutes each to play and are designed for pistol starts. Difficulty settings are implemented.

This WAD was originally shared in January 2016 with three maps; this version has minor improvements to those three, six additional maps in two new themes, and some new custom graphics (a TITLEPIC, level names, etc.)

PLEASE NOTE: Sucker Punch requires the Community Chest 4 texture set (cc4text.wad) to be loaded alongside the WAD.

Title music: 'Main Title' from Eternal Champions Intermission music: 'The Selection' from Rolling Thunder 2

  16. Stranglehold

This is a Doom 2 boom-compatible map01 replacement. I originally intended this to be part of my planned mapset 'Jaunt', but I have since decided that I have poked around with this thing for way too long and I need to release it as it's own thing to be finally done with it. It's yet another tech base (groooooan, right? :P) with fairly challenging gameplay. Average par time ranges from 6-10 minutes, depending on your skill level. It's been mostly tested for UV, but HMP and below are available as well. No new sprites or monsters, nothin' but stock textures, and the gameplay is vanilla.

  17. Tekex

Tekex (a.k.a. Tech-Base Exploration) is a variant of Urban Exploration. One of the main differences is having something more interesting to shoot than rats. It is one of the most popular hobbies among UAC marines.

This is a medium-sized map with a mixture of open areas and smaller passages. Focus was put into verticality, light play and strolling monsters. Also includes a bunch of tricky traps, similar to my previous wad.

It is recommended to use a limit-removing port, since no tuning was done to avoid visplane overflows.

TITLEPIC is a 2-gram visualization of bytes in doom2.wad.

A man is on vacation and is out enjoying a day of hunting while his wife and infant son are at home. After a long and boring day, he starts walking back to his car, only to discover a ravine that wasn't there before. Feeling an unusually strong urge to find out what lurks beyond the ravine, he jumps down into it and heads out into the dark, foggy forest night.

Umbra of Fate is something of a personal experiment where I try to push the type of gameplay I enjoy to the limit.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
