  5. Temple of Blood

OK, this was originally going to be a level for the 10-sector contest, but I didn't finish it on time. It was just sitting on my hard drive collecting dust so I slapped a few more monsters in it to finish it, added a couple of weapons, and decided to release it. I'm warning you, this is a buggy piece of crap, and parts of it are way too narrow and you can't move, and there are way too many monsters, and I'm sure some textures aren't aligned properly, ect. The only reason I'm releasing it is because it will probably be a long while before I make anything that I deem worthy to release to the general public that I finish (I'm always running out of ideas) and this is the only thing I've been able to finish. Don't worry, when I do release something, it will be MUCH better than this (it had been a while since I had messed with a level editor when I made it, plus I was limited to only 10 sectors). OK, yada yada yada, on with the level. Oh right, it is set in a temple with lots of blood.

  6. Sacrifice in Blood

On a far away colony world, a temple was discovered which marked the border between our reality and another, far more sinister dimension which you've already been to a couple of time. We like to call that dimension "Hell." This temple, which was known as the "Temple of Water", was clean and pure, holding the evil in check. UAC sent marines and soldiers to guard it, restoring the old temple amd living there like the monks who had originally abandonded it long ago. Well, we _think_ they abandonded it... we're really not too sure, our scientists are still working on the books they've found in remarkable condition in the temple's libraries.

There are plenty of monsters, but most should have no problem on the lower difficulties. This was intended to be the 6th of 7 levels, and I used some "taboo" ememies, but in creative ways. Hard-to-find secrets too.

  9. Temple of the Ancients

5-level hub, set in a variety of environments. You start in a command center, but explore medieval and techno-medieval areas as you uncover the secrets of the Temple of the Ancients.

These levels extensively use Q3A textures, and a few Q1 & Q2 textures. They also feature cool new skies, and scripting. ZDooM features include translucency, laser barriers, underwater environments, true elevators, colored lighting, fog, slippery surfaces (ice), quakes, 3D bridges, etc.

Notes: I take credit/flames for many of the runic signs. The original Q1Tex.wad contained 32*32 signs. Using these in MS Paint, I edited the symbols to create new, larger signs. The new animated water flats plus the additional ice/water flat are all mine.

  15. Terrere1.wad

Terrere1.wad is a single level for boom. The theme varies between brown and rock textures. I've tried to make the area's merge in together and i think i've about succeeded. I think it's the best level i've made so far.

    ------------------- !!!!!!WARNING!!!!!! -------------------

I've made the level so hard i could just complete it without secrets. If you have trouble finishing it on UV, don't start whining but play it on HMP then.

  16. Only The Strong

Big, detailed SP map. Ammo and health are rare, but even a bad doom player (like me :-) can survive skill 3.

There is a lot of - Detail - Monsters - Ammo (on easy skill) - Nasty traps - Secrets

There is not much - Health - Ammo (on hard skill)

Some of the original graphics are from the Justin Fisher "Alchemy" library, from "3D Game Alchemy" by Sams Publishing. (they forced me to write this) Some textures where also taken from the IKBASEQ3 texture set for Quake3:Arena by Iikka Keränen as well as Afterglow's conversion of some other texture pack by Iikka Keränen. The blue forcefield was extracted from Nick Baker's "Nightmare texture WAD 2".

This map was rated 80% by The DOOMers Recess

  22. SIEBENBÜRGEN

The Siebenbürgen base is doomed. It is being invaded by two forces: You and the vicious breed of the Cave Imps. Your first objective is to thwart the cave imps: you cannot let anyone destroy the base you are about to destroy, right? Then, you must get the yellow key that the imps have stolen and placed within their cave lair. "Why do I need the yellow key?" you ask. "Because the author has chosen a linear level progression, stupid", a divine voice answers. Ah, so you have all the facts. Arm yer rocket launcher and whop some arse.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
