  2. The Lost Wad #2 (Version 1.8) 10/97 Remember this is a WAD from The Lost WADz series!

/Story ......and so it happened. You thought you had beat Doom and Doom II. You moved on to Quake and various other first-person perspective games but still missed the virgin scare you had the first few times you played Doom and Doom II. You knew there were many user levels, but most were boring and offered nothing new. Then it happened, you found The Lost Wad! You played it and played it and wanted more! It seemed that Level #1 was all you could find......until now!

  4. Tele-Direct Atlantic Doom

These files will (hopefully) serve as a replacement for the previous version of Tele-Direct Atlantic Doom I uploaded to this site previously. TELLY.WAD Replaces MAP01 of Doom2 with a layout of my employer's office. I have improved the appearance of the computer workstations (They now look much more realistic) I've also replaced the Imps with a sprite-animation sequence of Telly, our company mascot. TD2.WAD, TD4.WAD, TD6.WAD Used to customize layout so it resembles office.

Directions for use: Unzip all files into your doom2 directory- To start playing, type TELLY at DOS prompt.

  5. The Lost Wad #1 (Version 1.5) Remember this is a WAD from The Lost WADz series!

/Story ......and so it happened. You thought you had beat them all. But as you were on your way out they attacked! What's this? They're back? No, you never really got 'em. See, they got smart. They knew that if you killed their boss with a keyboard code it was only temporary. So they got into the "beast" mainframe computers and gave you so-called "cheat codes" that only protected them from permanent death. As your party enters the building they swoop down with perfect malice and you're the only one left, hiding like a child. This time, you say, you'll get those punks. This time, with NO codes, NO cheats and NO mercy!

  6. Search and Destroy

This wad is going to be part of a 32-level wad i'm currently working on. The idea for this wad comes from a book i've read called NEANDERTHAL. Who wrote the book? I can't seem to remember. But in the book the Neanderthals had the ability to know where you are by looking through your eyes. So in a sense that is how the monsters in this wad are. They will seek you out! So don't stay in one place. They'll get to you sooner or later.

  7. TeleKill

You start in hell. Too be more specific, a room flooded with barrels. You have to shoot the barrels with a pistol to manuever the barrels so you can walk out but once you shoot everyone is pissed off and you have limited time to escape to a safe spot before the whole level is exploding with barrels. THATS ultra violence. On the other skill levels you get ONE god sphere (to survive the blast). But even if you survive that you still have hell to look forward too. YOU WILL DIE. Yes, life sucks but it is possible. If you do it the right way it is possible. NO YOU MORON. IDDQD IS NOT THE RIGHT WAY. Don't you dare cheat on my sacred level. Or you'll wake up in TELEKILL.

  9. UACHQ.WAD

You get a phone call 4 am in the morning, you pick it up and ask "Who the hell is calling me 3 in the morning!?", the person on the other line answers, "This is the UAC H.Q., we've got a major problem here, no time to tell you the story, but this should give you a hint", you ask, "What?", he answers, "Moon base. I have no more time to talk, you will be teleported here in 2 minutes, good lu..", you only hear a scream and a hissing noise. You know what's happening, and you gotta stop 'em.

  10. uwcenter.wad

This map is my (very first WAD-building) attempt to realistically model part of the campus where I teach (located on the shore of Lake Michigan, Manitowoc, WI). The player begins in a cola-machine area just off the cafeteria. The hallway from the cafeteria leads to the main office, the theater, a lecture hall, classrooms, offices, etc. This is a small campus, but even so, this map represents only about 25% of it.

  11. SKULKEEP.WAD (instant: MAL_SKUP.WAD)

This is Skulkeep.wad. When you get it, it may be named MAL_SKUP.WAD. This is just the same thing, but you must run SKULKEEP.BAT to expand it. Or Skulkeep.wad if it was expanded before. The resulting PWAD will be around 4,5 MB...

Now for the level: In the Demos, both recorded at Skill Level Ultraviolence, you can watch the wrong and the right way how to start the level. I agree that the second demo is a bit long - that's although I wanted to die fast. The level is thought for single player. In Deathmatch you should have no problems, you cannot get stuck, but it was thouhgt for single player. Attentione: I used the old idea of hallways that open into rooms. I think that the level is not playable in Nightmare mode. (NEW:) Note that the level has (NEW) monsters and flats replaced. After having noticed (grave) problems with DEMOs here, the description of the demos may differ from what is final. I will re-record them.

One day, after playing alot of levels that thought that quantity was better than quality, I though why not make huge a level? So I started and from a few months work spawned this monstrosity. Exploration is cool. If you know what to do then you can finish this level in about 10mins otherwise, get compfy. My computer teacher was astonished of its size, although Im sure theres bigger. This level does slow my 486DX2 66 (8mb) when on the harder difficulty settings but supposedly runs a dream on a pentium. So stop reading and get immersed.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
