  3. The Lost WAD #7

/Story You awoke sharply at 3:53 AM to the sound of the sirens. You knew what that meant. In a matter of minutes the phone rang like a dull roar under the sounds screeching outside. The UAC Commander was talking so fast you could barely disipher the words. "Slow down" you say, "What's going on?" The sudden screech and the UAC Commander's screams brought back that slow chill you had the last time. After hanging up the phone you look outside at the opaqe moon and the red haze that blankets the night and realize they're back. You shake your head. "When will they close that experiment for good" you wonder. After starting a pot of coffee and stumbling to the shower you hope this time you won't get called. At 5:34 AM the phone rings again. After two words you tell it is the President of the UAC Corperation. "We screwed up" he says. "An understatement!" you yell back. The President continues, "There is an abandondend sub-station we forgot about. We need you to go in and stop this from happening again. I've arranged a sub-sect transport for 700 hours, be here. Remember your oath." You dress calmly, wondering if this time it won't happen. As you drive to the UAC Corperation you prepare yourself, and as you step onto the transporter you hold your breath and cross your fingers.

  5. SUB-ZERO v/s LIN KUEI

This set of wads contains new graphics, sprites, sound and music to create a Mortal Kombat in Doom2. I suggest you to play in Chosen One, but, if you're brave, play in MASTER (heh heh...) All the weapons were changed, and it can be a little difficult to play with the new weapons at the begining, but then you'll be fine. Requires Doom2 v1.9.

Level 1 - Ernst #227 - Ever wonder what a store in Hell would be like? Here's one version. Just enough sargeants to make your shop- ping experience interesting, with a few imps thrown in to slicken the floor. Don't forget the chips and beer for the beach. (You might experience a small amount of HOM in certain places due to the large amount of vertices and sectors... such is life). Level 2 - El-Bain - This vacation is not turning out well. Seems to be a new complex in the making. We don't know to much about it, just the name. But, you're there, so you might just as well take a look... Level 3 - Slime River Valley - No keys... just kill. A small hamlet in the middle of somewhere.

This is one Action-packed level. There are load's and load's of secret's to discover, some EZR then other's. This level is PERFECTION in action for single, cooperative and deathmatch play. You start of with only a few creatures roaming around. If you've killed all those creatures you can open up one of the plateau's or containers. There is way more ammo then you will ever need, but most of it is hidden away in secret's. If you know more secret's than your opponent, he is very dead.

  13. The Lost WAD #6 (12\97)

The Original Lost WAD floppy disc was dusty. It had inches of dust on it. So, I decided to re-vamp the original, and make it up to date. Well, nevertheless, this is NOT The Lost WAD #1! This level's is based on the first. This is about three times bigger with better traps. I'd ask anyone who plays this to download the original and check out the two side by side.

  15. The Lost WAD #5 "G" Rated (12/97)

As with previous Lost WADs, I built this with attention to texture alignment and playability using ALL the keys. It is a bit smaller than previous work, but if you notice how well the game plays (tested at all levels) you'll copy this one to your floppy disc. NOTE: I added an "Easter Egg" to this one as an incentive to play on. If you find it, e-mail me and tell me how you like it! You'll never see things the same way again!

  16. The Lost WAD #4 (11/97)

As with previous Lost WADs, I built this with attention to texture alignment and playability using ALL the keys. However, This time, I pushed the game-engine while paying close attention to shading, lighting and texture choices. The size of this WAD as a raw-copy (before music, graphics, etc) was 168k! I think you'll appreciate the extra work when you play The Lost WAD #4 and it earns and permanant home on your floppy discs!

Two levels that have a slight theme. Moderately gimmicky parts, and a fair Cyberdemon fight on level 2. Level 1 is one big multi-sectioned room. Sounds unoriginal, but it is done effectively enough.

  22. The Lost Wad #3 (Version 3.8) 11/97 Remember this is a WAD from The Lost WADz series!

/Story ......This WAD was started in January 1996 and available for the first time in November 1997! Due to cheap floppies and a Hard Drive crash this WAD has been built and rebuilt countless times. This time we went for excellence! Using various editors and the finest MIDIs we offer the third installment in The Lost Wads series! This is a pretty big level with all sorts of tricks and traps! Try to find the secret room included within the level. ......The story is the same. Those idiots allowed it to happen again, it's up to you to stop 'em!

  23. Star City

Single level with lots of new graphics. This is a 2nd sequel to the Pleiades level where you captured the starship pleiades. (you may wish to download Pleiades, which can be found at the same sites as this level under the names Pleiade2.zip and Pleiade3.zip; Pleiade2.zip is for Doom2 versions before 1.9 while Pleiade3.zip is for Doom2 versions 1.9 and later.) (The first sequel is Mir which can be found at the same site as Mir.zip.) Starcity will run under all versions of Doom2. Note: Pleiades, Mir, and Starcity are not intercompatible for combination into a single multilevel PWAD nor for play under the same loading of Doom2. They have different sky and wall textures assigned to the same names. Finally, this level is a standard patch wad that does not alter the main Doom wad and is playable with the standard -file parameter.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
