  2. Wild World V.1 (for Doom ][ Only!)

This wad was designed to try to be a single player, a coop, and a deathmatch wad (Try playing deathmatch on skill 4 or 5! FUN!). It's my first wad too let out into reality, but I've made wads before this, just never let them out, so I know how to make some cool Doom2 stuff. I tried to make every type of background, so if you like wooden walls, dead bodies all over, computeristic chaos, or dark, creepy rooms, expect it to be in there somewhere.

I'm not going to tell you about any specific parts of the level, because I think it's more fun if you find them out when you play the level yourself.

I left out four lower textures for special effects. Whadever ya' do, DON'T FILL EM' IN! Thank you.

Try to find all the secrets. If my level's too hard, find some secrets. They will make life easier. If it's too hard still, put it on the easiest difficulty. If it's still to hard, type -nomonsters at the dos prompt. If it's still too hard, put on the cheat code I-D-D-Q-D. But what I started this paragraph in the first place is too tell you to try to find all the secrets. There's about eleventeen thousand of them. And if you're still wondering how much eleventeen is, I don't have a clue, cause' it's probably not a number.

  3. UNCONDITIONAL ELIMINATION (i.e. ZAP)

This level has a theme: it's the room you start in and the surrounding nukage area. Your way through this level leads you all around that area giving some nice views of the start room before you finish the level on the very same spot you started on.

Life becomes increasingly hard as you proceed but this level is never unfair. Gameplay is tuned for single player but multi is possible, too (and tested, as always), with players starting in different areas of the map.

Deathmatch is restricted to one part of the map.

Of course, like all ZAP-maps this level is top quality in terms of design and gameplay.

  5. The UAC Deimos Weapons plant

A large UAC weapons production facility, with three departments: The ballistics production/shipping/testing area, the explosives production/testing area, and the chem/nuclear/bio weapons area (restricted access). The latter has chemical handling facilities and one reserve ICBM. A second is ready to launch, in the explosives area. Red key access may be granted on launch floor. Also equipped with a telegate entrance, standard airflow management systems, and a small hangar/starport area for shipping purposes. A distress call was recently received, and the marines called their best man into the field. You. They tried sending in a marine buddy of yours before you, who has not been heard from since. Your mission: scout the plant and rescue your buddy (Anyone who's read the Doom book series by Dafydd Ab Hugh and Brad Linaweaver should know who this certain "buddy" is).

  7. Well slap me silly then!

It's small. It's fairly hard. I made it with 50-70% health whenever I played it. It hasn't got any fantastic design...it only took me 2 hours to create...enjoy or don't enjoy.

  8. VISTA

VISTA Begins as outdoor urbanish sort of play, progresses through buildings, cemetary, sewer, underground fortress, deep underground nastiness, back up through underground fortress to urbanish wharf, up mountainside to a big temple. Some levels are packed, some are rather sparse.

  9. The Wretched

This is my first 'official' level. It is designed for single player, but should be quite good for DMs - as long as you use the NOMONSTER switch.

The level is set in a complex which includes a library,a large central tower and some in- teresting secret areas. Can you find the plasma gun?

    Please e-mail any comment,suggestion ecc.

A LMP of you getting 3x100% on UV without cheating would be welcome.

  10. WarpWorld 6

Demented warps lead you thru various parts of the level. Believe me this may sound boring, but this is one of the most challenging levels ever created. This is also a great deathmatch level. Lots of escapes and hidden sniper locations. You shouldn't be disappointed. All weapons included. However, shells and clips are the most plentiful ammo. You shouldn't have to use cheats.

  11. Valhalla

An absolute pain in the ( enter word of your choice here ) to finish due to the savegame memory limit in the doom2.exe file. I did this on a p120 with 32 meg and just got it within the limit but 50% of the time it still hangs the command.com when you exit the game so you will probably have to reboot. When playing the level, there are some parts that may seem hard to get to. They CAN be done. It is not a result of duff level design.

  14. Title

This WAD is pretty basic. There's neat guns and enemies, support for all three styles of play, etc. The textures are aligned for the most part, and it has been tested for deathmatch and difficulty. Fortunately, for those of you who care, it is NOT a newbie WAD. A newbie WAD is one that is filled with huge enemies, tons of items, and a bunch of textures that are uncommon. They look stupid and are dumb to play. This is a REAL WAD and you can actually play it!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
