Well, as soon as I got my hands on a copy of Heretic, I started playing it like mad. However, the weapons kind of annoyed me, with all their medieval type stuff. I needed GUNS!!! Therefore, I started working on a weapon replacement for heretic, and now I've finished it. Here it is. However, All the weapons behave exactly like their Heretic counterparts, since I have no way to change the weapon behaviors. Anyway, I still hope you enjoy it just the same. :P

  12. Close-Up!

This is another complete weapon conversion that I have made. The catch is, all (but 3) of the weapons can only be used when you're close-up to the baddies! It may sound like a stupid idea, but I've tried to balance it out by making the weapons very powerful. For instance, the Flame Cannon will kill most baddies in one hit, the Buzzsaw is insanely fast, and the Sonic Blaster works wonders on large groups of enemies. There are a few weapons that are ranged weapons, but one of them is very weak, and the other 2 have very little ammo. Use them wisely. Well, I at least think this deserves an A for originality, although it won't work too well with many wads. Oh, well. Just another experiment gone too far.

  13. P0WER WEAP0NS

Well, I (Xaser) juse love weapon replacements, and after doing Necro's Revenge, Acid Dreams (Unfinished), Sniper of Insanity, and Close-Up, I started to run low on ideas. So then I thought, "Hey! Lets all get together and make a Masters of Insanity weapon Wad!" So therefore, P0WER WEAP0NS was born. Well, see below for more detailed weapon info.

  14. Doom: Operational Support

In the vein of Immoral Conduct, this WAD is merely a gameplay hack that works with nearly any map. So long as said map doesn't have a DEH that changes the game substantially (ie. HacX), it works.

  15. icdlizard.WAD (FINAL VERSION)

This is basically my interpretation of the EDGE weapons mod, Immoral Conduct. I replaced most of the original graphics with mine. I'll probably get around to change all of the graphics. On the plus side though, I added a bunch of new weapons and heavily modified some of the original guns to make something completely new!

  16. Doom2:2_2 - The Time Travel Saga 2 - Endgame

THE STORY OF DOOM2:2:2- "Ah! I stoped the invasion AGAIN! Yay!" you shout after you finished off the sinful icon. 5 years later, after your retirement, you get the call to travel through time, and you get deja-vous. You're not going to do the same mistake a second time! And you call it off. The next morning, while drinking coffee, the general out of nowhere appears in your kitchen. "TaaaGGGGAAARRRRTTTTT! I came from the future to come and fetch you, sorry about the mishap old boy" barks the general "Misshaps? I had to FIGHT THE DEMON ARMY AGAIN!" you retort. "Yes but shit happens soldier! Come on, lets get you home!" "Fine" You take the generals hand and a ball of light encapsulates the two of you. A big flash later, and you lose conciousness. When you come to, you look at your surroundings... "Ahhh GOD... DAMNIT!" Yes, the general's time travel technology screwed up yet again and you find yourself at the beginning of the demon invasion. Oh well, you did it twice before, you can do it again!

...but hold on a sec... WAS it the general's time machine technology that stuffed up? When you took the general's hand, and the light overtook the two of you, you remember seeing someone when you lost consiousness. You seem to remember an old frail creature wearing an hour glass on his head. Yes, he was the Keeper of time, the last of the Time Lords.

What he said, you can't remember. You just remember seeing him (it?). Perhaps it isn't an accident that you keep coming back to the beginning of the demon invasion. What if the demon's CONTROL time? Trying to make you lose each time you have to repeat the battle? Perhaps you're not supposed to beat the demons!? Or maybe, just maybe, this is some kind of sick test of will- perhaps you have to beat the demon's on several parallel universes?

Too many questions, no answers. Just fight them. When you beat the demons this time around, you may get the chance to go through time again after it, to try and talk to the being. That is, IF you survive this place a third time!

Hopefully time is on your side. Or, at least, the Keeper of it is.

  17. Doom2:2 - The Time Travel saga.

THE STORY OF DOOM2:2 After you've destroyed the icon of sin, earth gets re-built, countrys come together, everyone's happy. 5 years after your retirement, you get a call from your old commander, Commander Ragg. He calls you up and goes "TaaaGGGAAARRRTTT!!!! The military has recently built a prototype time machine, and we need some tough marine to test it out. What do you say, buddy?" You think about it for a sec, and answer "...you got yourself a time machine pilot" You enter the time machine, deep in a secret part of a new military installation. The time machine activates and you get thrown 5 years in the past. You emerge from the time ship and look around... oh god- not again! Yep, it looks like you landed at the beginning of the demon invasion of the starbase. Oh well. Since the time machine is broken, you're going to have to fight them all over again, through exactly the same levels.

  21. Necro's Revenge

    Ok... Here's The Situation...

After defeating the big boss on doom2, which was Codenamed NECRO, you atart your long trek back home, however, you accidentally stumble into a portal and are sent back in time BEFORE THE INVASION EVEN STARTED!!! Suddenly, the demons barge in and take over earth, just like before! Now you have to stop the earth invasion ALL OVER AGAIN! However, somehow, you screwed with timespace, and now all the weapons are different! Instead of the wimpy pistol you used to have, you now have a kick-ass alien-looking plasma pistol! all the other weapons have changed, too!!!

Basically, it's just a weapon replacement for Doom2 or Final Doom. It may work with Ultimate Doom, but I'm not sure. Most of the weapons were taken from Mindscape's Necrodome, which is basically a car combat game that is *almost* like Twisted Metal. I guarantee that you'll like these guns, or else, i'll give you your money back. (Wait a minute, this was free, so never mind :)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
