  2. Cory's Clay Pidgeon Target Practice

So, you think you are a whizz with Doom's weaponry? Think again, hot-shot! Take my clay pidgeon target practice, and get to work on random, fast moving targets! For EDGE, I've given all the standard Doom weapons an alternate-attack which throws a clay target - see if you can hit it before it touches the ground. It's that simple. A high pitched "Bing!" will signify a hit, while a low pitched "bzzt!" will mean you suck real bad )

The only weapon I didn't add a target launcher to is the BFG9000, and even the RL and PG are useless here. Bullet weapons are the easiest to use.

Please refer to the hints n' tips section below.

  7. Nightmare Squad

Nightmare Squad is a new collection of weapons, and it is a completely new way to use weapons in DOOM. You will pick up, drop, reload, and unload your new weapons, and if you are smart, you will have a buddy alongside. There is also altered monster behavior to keep things interesting. This version is primarily intended as a way for you to familiarize yourself with the weapons and gameplay of Nightmare Squad. In the future, I plan to extend the story and add new monsters and levels.

  9. Kingpin- 'Life of Crime' shotgun (version 2)

This is an Ass-kicking re-make of dt-shot3. The sprites are considerably less grainy, the animation is better, and the weapon is black instead of green. Replaces Shotgun. I included the icon this time, as well as re-loading frames (may require offsetting).

  10. Doom Hack - version 2

This is a fantasy super-weapons patch for Doom2, featuring a complete set of awesome telekinetic weapons. The player's face in the status bar has been modified, and there are also some changes to the monsters, things and texts.

New to this version (by Sparky): - updated the DeHackEd file to Patch Format 6 for use with Doom2 v1.9 - renamed the files to meet standard conventions and deleted the patch program (this version will not run with 'Plain Vanilla' Doom2). - fixed the nul sprites and sounds so that they worked correctly with the various Source Ports (the original version either crashed the Source Port, or the modified sprites were ignored and the weapons just appeared normally).

  13. Enhanced Weapons Patch (Doom / Ultimate Doom Version)

An addon for Don Tello's Enhanced Weapons Patch (dtcog40.zip) to enable the patch to be used with Doom v1.9 and Ultimate Doom v1.9

You WILL require Don's original Doom II version to get the graphics, sounds and DeHackEd patch. DTCOG40.ZIP is available at: ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/idgames/combos/dtcog40.zip

You will also need a Source Port which can import DeHackEd patches and wads containing sprite data - such as ZDoom, MBF, SMMU, Boom, PRboom, etc. ZDoom is highly recommended because you also get to play with the Super Shotgun from Doom II.

See Don's text file for a more complete description of the changes this patch makes to Doom's game play; but very briefly the patch includes the following: * all weapons replaced or modified (even includes Doom II's Super Shotgun when played with ZDoom). * shootable hanging bodies (not all of them in the Doom I version though) * semi-permanent blood * the imp throws balls of fire * many item and weapon sprites replaced * many sounds replaced (weapons, doors, lifts, etc.) or remapped * a new status bar * new cross-hairs for use with Doom Legacy

Playing the original Doom or Ultimate Doom levels with ZDoom, MBF, SMMU, PRboom, Boom: -deh enhanced -file enhanced enhdoom1

Tested okay with: Doom v1.9 Ultimate Doom v1.9 ZDoom v1.21 MBF v2.03 SMMU v3.10 PRboom v2.02 Boom v2.02

Will not work with: Legacy v1.28 (DOS or Win32 versions) due to a bug where sprite frames for the one animation can't be in separate wad files.

  15. dtcog40.zip

I'll forego the wadauthoring template, and go straight to the Point.

For those of you who don't know, this is a wad & deh combo, used to change Doom2's gameplay slightly.

Of course, this was made with a source port in mind, so you can use Zdoom, or Legacy.. this was made with Legacy in mind, so give it a shot.
Be sure to set zdoom to use blood particles or both particles and sprites. It's got new weapons and sprites and sounds and graphics..
I keep uploading new versions all the time.. for no good reason.

See Progress.txt to see how much work I did since the last version.

  21. FIREGODS (version 2)

Ever wanted to be God? Ever wanted the power to strike down your opponents with a mere wave of your hand? Well HERE YOU GO! YOU are one of four FIREGODS, with almost total command of the element of fire. With a simple twist of your wrist, you can send your opponents screaming for the Fire Department!

Mere mortals will have a very hard time killing you, but other FIREGODS; that's another question entirely. FIREGODS have 750% health, which means it'll take more than faith to kill you. Rest assured your opponents will try, nonetheless.

This is a patch for Doom2 v1.9, specifically for Deathmatch.

  23. ALPHA GUNS (and more)

Way back in April of 1993 id Software sent to their Beta Testers the Alpha v0.4 of their upcoming game "Doom: Evil Unleashed". Most of the weapons, powerups, health and ammo never made it into the final game. Many of the early wall and floor textures were also dropped. There's even a monster in the early Alpha versions which you would hardly recognise.

Alpha Guns is a Partial Conversion for Doom and Doom II which simulates part of this Doom Alpha v0.4.

The early Space Marine had a very crude arsenal at his disposal - chainsaw, bayonet, rifle and machine gun. The rocket launcher, plasma gun and BFG 2704 (later to become the BFG 9000) were still in the pre-prototype stage where only a weapon icon was available. The Super Shotgun of course was still only a thought in some UAC engineer's head.

ALPHA GUNS enables you to experience the DOOM amd DOOM II worlds as if advanced weapons development had ceased back in April 1993. See what the early Space Marines had to deal with as you battle the original levels with the Alpha chainsaw, bayonet, rifle and machine gun. The levels are now filled with Alpha powerups, health, armor, ammo, etc. Only the most battle-hardened Space Marines need apply because the remaining weapons (super shotgun, rocket launcher, plasma gun and BFG 2704) have all been replaced with prototype versions which may not work quite as well as the production models you have come to know.

See below for Extra Notes - artistic licenses taken, test results, etc.

  24. Super Doom Guns (version 2)

In creating SDG, I tried to remedy the greatest flaws of each gun. Note: This patch tends to raise the power of weaker guns to make them more evenly powered, especially good for Deathmatchs. (Unless, of course, you like playing deathmatchs with huge weapon advantages. :) )

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b
