  18. LeggO DooM

[Fight with LEGO weapons against LEGO monsters!] Ok this is the first public release of LeggO DooM. What's in it: ...all new monsters! ...sorta new weapons! ...new sprites! ...some gfx What's not: ...levels...But they are underway! (still want help.) levels 1,2,3 are all but done.(anyone know how to end an episode after < 8 levels? I want to use another sky tex.) ...no sounds have been included in this release mostly because of the size! ...some sprites have been held back, they have more to do with the levels then anything else. ...ditto for textures, besides they make other levels look goofy.

What you get: ...hours of fun, new discovery!

  20. DM Patch #2 (Inspired By SiN)

A deathmatch gameplay enhancement, based on SiN. Not nearly as complex as my Quake3 based patch...

    All weapons are changed:
1: Fists Twice as strong as before
1: Plasma Accellerator In close combat mode. Is 3 times as powerful up close as it is far away.
2: Machine Gun Finally, a useful default weapon.
3: Shotgun Fires the SSG spread. Slow action, but deadly.
3: Rifle Super strong pinpoint accuracy.
    4: Chaingun Spray and pray.
5: Rocket Launcher Nothing too different here.
6: Plasma Accellerator Again, not too different. Faster plasma.
7: Quantum Destabilizer Fires a spray of flames. Be careful, as it hurts to touch the spray! Has a limited range, so no sniping!

  21. DM Patch #1 (Inspired By Quake 3)

A Simple wad I threw together for use in my deathmatching with a friend. It is based on Quake 3 Arena, another game we like to play.

Supposed to be simplistic, it sort of makes Doom deathmatch feel a little different.

    All weapons are replaced:
    1. Gauntlet (green): High powered glove for easy close combat frags.
    1. Charged Gauntlet (red): Even more lethal and quick.
    2. Machine Gun: Automatic default weapon. Weak, but useful.
    3. Shotgun: 2 barrels of death, lethal at close range.
    3. Rail Gun: Super strong rail, but slow recovery.
    4. Lightning Gun: Insane fast, just keep your crosshair on your enemy.
    5. Rocket Launcher: Standard DM weapon. See advanced description.
    6. Plasma Gun: Shoots bursts of fast but inaccurate plasma.
    7. BFG v2.1 Death bringer end-all weapon. Stay clear of the explosion.

All pickups are replaced as well, and ammo counts have been increased drastically.

This is made for deathmatch, and as such looks weird in singleplayer, as well as really unfair.

This ZIP file also contains TG-Q3DM3, which when loaded on top of CW-Q3DM1, applies new effects that make it more like Quake 3.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
