A music only wad containing some of the rejects from 2002ado and several other of my past projects. All songs are original and composed by me. Feel free to use any of these songs in your wad, level, etc. Music replaces all 32 levels, plus title, interpic and intermission in Doom 2. Works with vanilla doom2.exe.

  4. PSX Music wad

This is a wad that replaces the music in Doom1 with the music from PSX Doom. To prevent the file size from becoming huge i had to decrease the quality of the music. The ingame music still sounds ok but the music during the stats screen is somewhat hurt by the decreased quality. These are NOT midi files.

  12. Doom NES Music

All the original Doom tunes remixed into NES- style chiptunes via Impulse Tracker (IT) format. If you don't know what a chiptune is, basically it emulates the sound of the NES, Commodore 64, etc. music engines in the form of tracker-based music (MOD, XM, S3M, IT, etc). In this case, the songs resemble what you might have heard if Doom was ported to the NES. It should be noted that these songs were converted BY HAND, without the aid of a MID->IT converter of any sort.

  16. MP2 Music Definitions for JDoom

Okay, so you've downloaded all the Doom/Doom2 .mp2 files from Doomworld (www.doomworld.com) or Bobby Prince's site (before he moved only some of them to www.mp3.com). But how can you use them in a source port without creating a massive 60MB wad?

This file is simply a DED (Doomsday Engine Definitions) file for the source port JDoom. It simply tells JDoom what music to use for each level, and where to find the files.

  17. Revalvicate

Revalvicate - A complete Episode 1 music replacement wad with mostly original music from me. Covers E1M1 - E1M9, introduction, intermission and end victory. The majority of Revalvicate is simple but powerful. Not many instruments but they are used well. The idea for the songs was a style not quite DOOM, but would fit the levels. ZDOOM 1.23 or better (or something based on ZDOOM 1.23) is required to play the tracker files properly. I used ZDOOM v1.23 beta 28 to test Revalvicate.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
