  1. BEATLES2.WAD

The original BEATLES.WAD got some feedback to release the other 20 beatles songs in a wad so, here they are. I just HAD to put the DRVCAR.MID in there again so I did.

  2. Doom II Enhanced Music: Volume III

Tired of hearing the same old music? Hate the low-quality music WADs? Want music WADs that contain all kinds of music fitted to each level instead of one style of music thrown into the game without regard for the level's "personality?" The Enhanced Music WADs are for you! These WAD files are split into 3 different files so that you can load whichever WAD file contains the songs that you like the most.

This WAD contains new background songs for Doom II. This can only be used with DOOM II. Not only is the level music replaced, but the intro music, intermission music, and tally screen music is replaced also.

  6. Tyler's Music

This wad is a collection of midi files I found on the Internet...I was tired of the same ol' DOOM music, so I decided to put my own in!

If I could have found more rap midi's on the internet, I would've used them. Instead I (unknowingly) created the most musically diverse music wad ever! :) This wad has everything from the Beatles to Pink Floyd to NIN to Queen. Not to mention some funny/wierd/corny midi's I found...

See the playlist for a complete description of the music used.

  8. AWESOMUS.WAD for DOOM 2

I just thought I tell you that this is my very first PWAD for any DOOM game. It is, I'll admit, a very simple, music only addition... but I'm still proud of it. This PWAD will replace ALL the music tracks in id software's Doom ][. That's right, 35 all new tracks for your playing and listening pleasure. The songs range from NIN's "Head Like A Hole," to Led Zepplin's "Kashmir." And they really do mix well with the Doom2 levels.

  10. DM2MUSx.WAD

Has 2 WADs that has different music for each level. The third wad replaces some music too, but only like five of them. I picked out all the songs that I knew and I also picked some songs that I like but never heard of them before (only like 5 of them). It has songs from Madonna and Micheal Jackson. It also has songs from this one group that my brother likes (and his girlfriend. That song is Level 1's music in the wad... DM2MUS1.WAD.) It has the song from Back to the Future, and some TV shows. It has a song from Forest Gump (the song at the beginning of the movie). It has the theme to Terminator 2. And there's LOTS MORE!!! Some of them are duplicates... I just went through all these WADs and MIDI files... I didn't really pay attention to what song I heard. But there are only like 5 duplicates.

THERE'S A DOOM 1 VERSION OF THIS TOO!!! I MADE ONE FOR DOOM 1 AND 2.

    Doom1: DM1MUS.ZIP (For Ultimate Doom) Doom2: DM2MUS.ZIP

I don't think I will make a WAD for DOOM 1 regular (not ULTIMATE). You still can run DM1MUS.ZIP in regular DOOM 1. You just won't hear the songs that are in Episode 4, Levels 1 - 9.

  12. Doomsday

`Doomsday' tells the story of a small fighting unit that's more and more loosing it's game. It is a very heavy song about doom, battle and the end of the world. It's a particular blast when played loud while cruising in a car...

`Doomsday' was recorded in summer '95 by Naked Noise, the world's meanest 21st century mega-city heavy metal cyberpunk band.

THIS IS THE NEW AND (I HOPE SO) LAST VERSION OF GUS1M-II. THE OLD ONE HAS SOME MISTAKES AND IS TOO GREEDY FOR GUS MEMORY, WHICH CAN CRASH THE GAME. THIS NEW VERSION IS OPTIMIZED FOR MEMORY AND FOR MUSIC QUALITY, AND IS SAFEST THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE.

10 mus files to go along with my 10- PAK wad. It will also work with the regular DooM 2 levels or any other D2 pwads you may load. Made to match the 10-PAK levels however as the speed of the song is matched to the size of the level being played. Most of the songs are by Led Zeppelin which seem to be a DooM natural!

  18. 30 Levels of Doom2 Music

This is 30 levels of fairly interesting music for Doom 2. I downloaded about 100 midi files with cool filenames and chose about 25 to compile into one big Doom2 wad.

I'm planning to make a 30TUNES2 pretty soon. To this end, I have downloaded about 1,000 midi files from ftp.funet.fi. Now, all I have to do is listen to them. :)

I recommend using this wad with a 30-level deathmatch wad (like my own 30wads1.wad).

  20. Change All! (changall.wad)

This wad does'nt change just level 1... it changes ALL of the music... hence the name. I was getting tired of the normal Doom music. It's not bad or anything ... it's just getting boring. And all I could find were the usual changes to the music for map 01 so... I made this.

  21. Music for "All for One", the first Co-op only Episode for Doom

This is a set of replacement background music for all of E1 and three missions of E2 of Doom. It was originally intended to be be included in a41_coop.wad, but that's already mighty big and I've come to reconsider the dubious value of new music.

Still, I did work to find the best sounding .MID files to include, and rather than just write off that time I've provided them in this companion file. I recommend you add a41_mus.wad along with a41_coop.wad until the novelty wears off, then delete it. If any of the files strike you as particularly noteworthy, clip them out and re- assemble them with DEUtex (it's what I did).

  22. GUS 1M-II

This is an optimized MIDI instrument mapping for GUS 1024 (like GUS1M by Tom Klok for DOOM 1).
Tom Klok has done a very good job with GUS1M (thanx) but this mapping doesn't suit with DOOM ][.
This is not Tom Klok's fault : DOOM (1) and DOOM ][ don't use the same MIDI instruments at all. Id didn't seem to note it because they have inserted GUS1M in DOOM ]['s directory (DMXGUSC entry), which is not, I repeat, good for DOOM ][.

So, thanks to Joakim Erdfelt, I have converted MUS files to MIDI files with MUS2MIDI so I could see what instruments were used in the musics. Then I made a list of them and made the mapping according to it.

The result is ... simply great ;) ! DOOM ][ is not yet the same ! This is not a lie : try and listen.

  23. TLR : The Last Resort, the ultimate deathmatch experience

If you own a GUS with 1Mo on board and if you like playing TLR, THEN THIS IS FOR YOU !
This ZIP contains 2 WADS :
    * GUSTLR1.WAD if you play TLR for DOOM (1)
    * GUSTLR2.WAD if you play TLR for DOOM ][
These WADS contain the entries DMXGUS for DOOM, DMXGUSC for DOOM ][, which are the mappings of MIDI instruments for musics.
David Sears, the author of TLR's musics, has used a lot of instruments that DOOM and DOOM ][ don't use. So it was essential to make a new mapping for TLR, to appreciate to the full these very good musics.
    Listen to the difference !

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
