  3. 512k Patch Map for 1024k Gravis UltraSound Card

The main reason I made these wads is, I updated my GUS from 256k -> 512k -> 1024k and was able to listen to DooM music on all these configurations. I was disappointed by the 1024k patch maps and liked the 512k ones better.

Same as other patch map wads... these wad contains no music, they just tell GUS which instruments to play in a music. DMXGUS.WAD is for DooM and DMXGUSC.WAD is for DooM ][ (thats what they are called in their respective wads).

  4. ARMY OF DOOM V0.9

Well, I know that there's already a bunch of Army of Darkness patches for DOOM, but (with apologies to the authors) I was disappointed with them. There really weren't enough AOD sounds to it and they had fundamental flaws in them, for example when a imp sees you it says in Ash's voice "You want some" or something like that. well, that makes it seem like you are fighting a buch of Ash's. I had about 13MB of AOD wav files, a few hours to kill during school so decided to give it a go. if you care, this file was made last March and the only other AOD wad file at the time was ASH-DOOM. this file is on Software creations and a few ftp sites but I had never gotten around to putting it here on Infant2 until now.

  5. laugh.zip

What this is, is a collection of laughs, taken from Sepultura's latest incredible album, Chaos AD. They put a 'bonus' track on the end, full of demonic and demented sounding laughs. I normally play Chaos AD while playing DOOM, and once when a friend was watching, the 'bonus' track came on and these guys went into their act. All of a sudden, my friend said what a cool sound wad those would make. So we recorded the stuff, and edited them so they would really sound great while playing DOOM. So give them a try. And see if you can actually play a whole level, yet alone a whole episode, with these replacement sounds. They are for DOOM I by the way.

  8. SERENITY SOUNDS (sound WAD for SERENITY) A full replacement of all original Doom sounds by our very

The sounds in these WAD have been selected on various grounds. One of the important ones is that you don't get bored by a sample (since you'll be hearing it zillions of times!!). The samples do not match some kind of theme (for instance like the Aliens sound-wad), but we still like it 8^) This WAD works with all Doom 1.x versions.

  9. The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy meets Doom

This file contains samples from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy BBC Radio series. The sound effects were literally ground-breaking, with many of them taking days to perfect - followed by axing them for something even wilder.

I've scanned both series (all six hours) for useful sounds, and feel I've been fairly thorough - I have some sounds left over, which I *could've* put in, but I just ran out of spaces to put them in :-) (Fans of the series may like to know that I *ached* over whether or not to sample the lift scene for the lift sound - that was going a bit far though).

This is strictly silly, and should *never* be used for serious Dooming, having the same effect on the atmosphere as 4 Commander Keen's hanging on nooses >;-) Some of the sounds are quite long, and others (esp. the "Naughty" sound) have been deliberately included to annoy the hell out of you after 2 minutes.

Ha! Wish I had the template in front of me. Anyway.'Tis I, Johnny Nugnug, releasing my personal fave sound .wad. This is a .wad made from many of the >>excellent<< sound .wads out there. I thank you each and every one one you. I get irritated by sounds .wads very quickly, yet this sound .wad I have used for about 2 months with no irritation problems at all. I hope all you that use this .wad not only appreciate the (small) work I put into re-editing a sound .wad, but also the >hundreds<, if not >millions of billions< of man hours the original drug addicts put into making their own .wads.
    Or something like that.

Things have got desperate.... The british army has been called in to clear up the sewers under London. You are Major Dennis Bloodnock of the Third Disgusting Fusiliers, a slightly deranged british commando. Armed only with a used wire brush and disinfectant you must attempt to expunge all nasties from the East Finchley sewer system. No job for a boy scout!

These insane sounds were the creation of Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, and Harry Secombe, under the guidance of Spike Milligan. The world is a richer place for their efforts.

The idea for this project was inspired by the PYTHON sounds produced by... Solomon White, Adam IsGreen & Andre Vrignaud.
("BB Boom Da Da Bing" and "RIGHT!!". All we can say is.. "Nice one centurian")
There WAD file was modified using DMAUD.EXE by Bill Neisius.
    Thanks a ton guys!!

  15. Full Metal Jacket sound patch

Why do I call this v2.0? I converted the full metal jacket sounds to pwad form and found that the size of the thing went from 1.7+ megs unzipped to a mere 200+k uncompressed. A definite improvement by any measure of the word. I guess too high of a sampling rate was used, i.e. 44.1 khz. Well anyway, here it is......

  19. New sounds for Doom!

I replaced most of the sounds on the registered version of Doom with voice files from the shareware version of "SPISPOPD" (Smashing Pumpkins In Small Piles Of Putrid Debris) The version included all of the .voc files in the game so I used them to replace the sounds in Doom. If you like it, tell me!

  20. dm_cool.zip

The sound patch changes nearly every sound in the game, requires the registered version of doom to be used fully, and is, as the name states, really cool. Check this one out, some sounds are funny, others make no sense, and some are quite simply better than the original (check out the shotgun for an example of this).

Trust me - It's worth getting, and is completely safe.

  24. Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Sound Effects

A collection of new sound effects for Doom (registered only), all carefully sampled from the BBC Audio Collection of the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, by Douglas Adams.

For those of you unawares, the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book, and also a wholly remarkable audio collection.

The BBC Radiophonic Workshop created most of these sound effects, however a few were provided by real-live actors in real-live recording studios.

I've chosen these effects to keep the game playable, that is, without massively interfering with the gameplay. I may be adding more sounds later, as my time permits. I stopped at 9 sounds, when I realized the file was already up to 156K. With the future installation of my time-space fabric folding desk accessory, I should have already done many more sound effects before I even typed this file. See the Guide under 'verb tenses'.

  25. Jesco Doom

For those of you with no clue, tune into Roseanne sometime in May to find out what a real live West Virginia hillbilly is, namely, Jesco White. Or, check out PBS's The Dancing Outlaw which is Jesco White's biography and the source of all these sound samples. If you have seen this video, Jesco Doom will be appreciated for what it is worth, a masterpiece.

For those of you with a clue, you already know it is a masterpiece.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
