  2. aliens2.zip

This patch replaces 3 characters (ZOMBIEMAN, IMP, SHOTGUN GUY) with aliens and sounds from the movie.

The aliens were created by revolving my roomates great model of an alien in front of a camera attached to a computer at the University of Central Florida.

Results: The best (realistic) alien patch I've ever seen (to be modest).

There are lots of sounds from the R-rated movie so if you offend easily be warned. (But if you like Doom, I doubt you are very sensative.) Anyway, you can just edit the aliens.bat file to remove the sound wad aliensnd.wad if it bugs you.

  4. AL|ENS Total Conversion (Disk 1)

LB4-26. The terra forming colony has stopped transmitting or responding. There is a possibility that this is the result of an unknown parasitic alien species. Against this possibility, a military force has been mobilised to investigate.

    ALIENS-TC differs from DOOM in a few ways;

For starters, some standard DOOM tactics either don't work, or result in quick and messy death, don't approach this as another DOOM conversion, treat it like something new, pay attention, don't slip into Auto-kill-&-Collect mode and finish the game while thinking of other things, get immersed, look at the architecture, predict the layout and how it affects your plans etc.

  6. AliensDoom 2.0

12 YEARS AFTER THE LV-426 INCIDENT

Weyland-Yutani Bio-Weapons Research Labs on Dulceron, a planet in the 5th quadrant of the Mutari System (only 25 light years from earth) have discovered another source for the aliens which destoryed the colony on LV-426. Contact was lost with the Labs days after their transmission. You, a Colonial Marine, have been sent in with your troops to find, and destroy the aliens.
Upon your arrival, you find that the labs have been all but destroyed. Bodies lie everywhere, and before you know it, you and your team are attacked. Not by aliens, but by Weyland-Yutani employees in power loaders who do not want you to destroy their research. After you deal with the few that you encounter, most of your squad is suddenly killed in an alien attack. As you run down the corridor, you can hear their screams fading into the distance.
After trying to avoid aliens, facehuggers, disgruntled employees, and evil marines, you run into the ducts, to formulate your plan.

Now, it is just you. And you have to get out and blow the place....

  10. ALIENS The Total Conversion for Doom 2

The installation program was written by Olivier Montanuy (author of DeuTex and DeuSF... two very fine Doom utilities) and has been modified to work with Doom 2 by Jason Mezzacca. You'll need about about 2.5 megs of extra disk space to install. The installation will *not* change your doom2.wad nor will it change doom2.exe so there will be no need to uninstall it to play Doom normally again. The levels used for the normal A-TC game are map11 through map18, and map31 as the secret level. Map01 and map02 were used for the two bonus levels. If there are any problems with the installation, you can contact me at 72510.3424@compuserve.com. Please, do not bother Justin or Olivier about it... if there's a problem, it's most likely my fault.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
