  1. Star Wars graphics patches PWAD

This is a PWAD of all of the Star Wars graphics patches. I saw that only some gave the option of using a PWAD, so I figured out how to put them all into one. I take no credit for making any of the great graphics, just making it easier for us to use without modifying the Doom.wad. I found that swgfx.zip didn't do all that it said (no title screen/sky). Mebbe it was just my machine, but I patched this one up to have it all.

  2. Star Wars Music and Sound Effects PWAD

For those who have used swmusfx2 or swmusfx3, this contains some new sounds that correspond to the various graphics patches that have been released. For the Imperial Guard graphics replacements, I had trouble finding sounds so I just inserted a blank VOC. ;) They don't strike me as the type to say much anyway. ;) I also took some of the music from Tie Fighter (Thanks for the help with that Force!) and replaced 10 levels with music from the game. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the new sounds and music!

  3. SWATST

I thought it would be cool to replace the cyber creature at the end of the second episode with an atst from Star Wars!!!

Designed as part of the Star Wars DOOM experience, the ATST replacement sprites (for the cyber boss) add another piece to the experience.

For the full effect, I also recommend creating a complete Star Wars Doom replacement sprite WAD from all the ones floating around out there (STROOPER, SWLASER, etc.) Trust me, the final effect will be well worth the effort. Also recommended are SWMUSFX3, SWGRFX and STARWAR2.

  4. Star Wars Doom Exe Patch v0.99b

This is a patch file that will work with Dehacked V1.3. Sorry if this isn't high quality but I wipped it up quickly. Tell me if you have any suggestions.
This was designed to be used with:
    SWGFX4.ZIP
    SWGFX2.ZIP
    SWGFX3.ZIP
    SWGFX5.ZIP
    SWLASER.ZIP
    STROOPER.ZIP

-It makes the rocket launcher look more like the laser gun and reacts like it too.

And some other stuff that you'll see..

  5. Star Wars Doom - Version 1.0 beta

Star Wars Doom is a collection of sprites, sounds, music, and levels. This release contains only graphic replacements as everybody who downloads this probably has the the pwad's for the other stuff. Eventually I'd like to see Star Wars Doom having a full episode (complete with secret level), full graphic replacements, and the greatest replacement sounds on earth...

  7. STARWARS SOUND REPLACEMENT

Ok! Here is yet ANOTHER updated SWSFX file. This is THE final one! I have changed a few sounds around, which has improved the overall effect. If you like/use any of the SWGFX files, this is a must!!! All sounds coincide with the replaced graphics!

This time, I even fired in music files! (thanx Chris!)

  8. STARWAR1.WAD

The DEATH STAR!!! Based on blueprints of a set built for the movie and as well as information contained in the SW RPG. This level includes the chasm Luke and Leia swang across, the elevators Luke, Han, and Chewie entered on their way to the detention level (sorry, these don't work, I ran out of sectors), and the large corridor with the blast doors. The blueprints covered 1/6 of the level, so I had to make up the rest. This is probably the first of many Star Wars levels I will do, and I will eventually replace this level's textures with my own.

  9. The Death Star

The DEATH STAR!!! Based on blueprints of a set built for the movie and as well as information contained in the SW RPG. These are the first of many Star Wars levels I will do, and I will eventually replace these levels' textures with my own. Doors needing keys aren't marked by colors primarily because I wanted the levels to look as much like Death Star as possible. -----> If the game runs to slowly, just run an IMPORTANT!-----> easier setting to limit the number of -----> monsters (they slow down slower machines). This isn't as bad as it used to be now that I've used a reject compiler.

Level 1 includes the chasm Luke and Leia swang across, the elevators Luke, Han, and Chewie entered on their way to the detention level, and the large corridor with the blast doors. The blueprints covered 1/6 of the level, so I had to make up the rest.

Level 2 consists of the detention level, the trash copmactor, and the security station from the RPG. I copied some of the sections for deathmatch reasons.

HINT: follow Leia's technique on getting to the trash compactor

  12. Star Wars - 3 New Doom Patches !!!

SWTITLE.BAT - change the old 'doom' title to 'Star Wars doom'
PINETREE.BAT - change the trees to pine trees

Although the pine trees aren't really anything from Star Wars, I included them anyways because they had them in the Rebel Assault game, and besides they look better than those ugly scraggly stumps.. The new title screen is the title of of Rebel Assault, with a little art in the corner.. It is pretty cool to see it while the SWMUSGFX.WAD is playing in the background.

  17. STAR WARS DOOM SOUND REPLACEMENT WAD

These files are sub sets of swsfx.wad(zip). By request, I've uploaded these smaller-chunk files for those that have ftp limits, or just want smaller download times, etc. Anyway, just get swsfx-1 thru 3, then use deu or some wad tool to pack them back together into one and you'll get swsfx.wad.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
