  1. Mars Base: 1 (Unfinished)

This was going to be my intro to the DTNC world. However, my time is increasing being devoted to writing so I have decided to release this as it is in the hopes that someone will finish it. All the scripts are in the wad under the Scripts lumps as well as the dehacked patch. If you get stuck playing, see below. Feel free to use this as a base or learning tool. I am doing things in this, nobody has done before (like in game scripted sequences and random monsters). I at least I haven't see them them. :) You'll need to get The Return resource wad from TeamTNT, as per their request. See enclosed text file.

  2. Phouse: "The house of portals"

To start the wad, type: Boom -file phthp.wad -deh phthp.deh

Phthp is a 9 level single player only doom2 wad, inspired by the great game, Realms of the haunting. I've tried to recreate a creepy experience like in this game (especially in the house). I hope i've succeeded. You will need a Boom compatible engine to play it. Any comments are welcome, just mail me. In every level (except the last) there's one secret. If you don't find the portals or the secrets, just read phhint.txt file.

    !!!!! IMPORTANT TO KNOW !!!!!

The first level plays in the house of portals. Here you come accross two key doors, but the keys aren't in the first level. The yellow key is in the second level. You have to find the hidden portal to that level (the world Homophobia)and recover the yellow key there. In level three, you're back in the house, with the yel- low key, wich you can use to open the yellow door. Then you must find the next portal to level four (the world Demoka).

  12. The Return

    So what is "The Return"?

It's several things, but it's mostly a set of resources from the folks who brought you Eternal DOOM and the BOOM engine. In addition there will be levels from a variety of people, and you can be one of those yourself. Read on.

Note: No levels are included in this ZIP file.

We have received many requests over the years to use material from the mega-release Eternal DOOM. You know what we mean - the cool railings, breakable glass, and awesome textures - everything from Medieval to High Tech.

So here is our gift to you:

We are releasing the entire Eternal DOOM Resource WAD as a publicly available resource. That's right! Now you can use the entire Eternal DOOM resource (plus all the new resources released for "The Return") to decorate your levels.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
