  1. Doom Debug Menu

This adds an debug menu which give you the ability to change any monster, weapon, item, decoration, dead thing, and key to any others that are similar to it. So you instead of a zombieman, you can choose to have an cyberdemon in that monster's place for example.

I was going to make this just as close to Doom 2 as possible, but decided to also add all of the ZDoom extras within the menu. The menu has stealth variations of all monsters, dead bodies of most monsters, and three extra weapons with one of them including the beta version of the BFG 9000, and the Doom beta score items that were eventually scrapped from the final product.

  2. DeathManager! v1.5 extra configs

This is a set of configuration files for DeathManager! v1.5 (DM.EXE). This version of DM was included with later versions of Heretic, Hexen and Final Doom, but requires a special configuration file (DM.DAT) in order to operate. This is a set of such configuration files for Ultimate Doom, Doom II, Strife and Chex Quest.

  3. Doom Batch file creator/Doom launcher v1.3

Please note: this archive has been updated to include a version of Doombat that features a sort of console, password protection, and the ability to jump to sections of the program from the command line. Unfortunately, it's not very polished, and some of the commands will send you back to the start of the program (don't worry, you can still jump back to the section you were at, and the values you entered will be untouched). Though you can go anywhere in the program at just about any time, you still have to select whether you want to make a doom batch file or launch doom when you are ready to do those things, or the program won't work (you'll only see the neat previewing feature before the program exits :) Please keep in mind that there may be some other minor bugs in this program. This modified Doombat is for Doom and Doom2 only, but the regular Doombat and Doomhere programs are still included and unchanged.

  4. Master Levels Menu Interface

The Master Levels Menu Interface is an ingame menu that serves to replace the old DOS program that would launch the chosen wad of the MASTER LEVELS FOR DOOM II. The Master Levels themselves ARE NOT INCLUDED in this package (they are a commercial release by id Software and must be purchased separately.)

Effectively, this file serves as a new frontend for the MASTER LEVELS, allowing you to play them in one sitting without restarting ZDoom. It also gives you a few extra options (keeping inventory between levels, varying the music so more than half the levels aren't playing D_RUNNIN, ...)

Detailed instructions for using this file are recorded below the upload template. Likewise, the PK3 itself contains an INSTRUCTIONS.txt file which is a duplicate of the same information. If you are not familiar with PK3's, it's just a Zip file and you can open it with any standarding archival tool that supports such (or rename it to ZDMLMENU.zip in Windows to browse it in Explorer.)

The scripts use to drive the menu system are in MenuLevelScripts.txt in the PK3, if you wish to use or study that as a basis for your own.

MasterLevelsLibrary.txt is the source script for the script library used in the menu interface (it is only tangentlly related to the menu scripting. It is mainly used for recording the player's progress which is why it is a script library and not level scripts.

  6. The Ultimate WAD.BAT

This is a batch file I wrote years ago to start Doom. Instead of tediously having to type "doom2 -file foo.wad -warp 1" when testing a file, you can just type "wad foo". The batch file is quite clever, though. You can specify a bunch of WADs on the command line, each with or without the '.wad' extension. You can also specify extra command-line parameters. "stuffbuf" is included, so that you don't need to press enter at the "you are playing a modified version of Doom" screen.

The original documentation is included below.

I wrote this years ago, before the Doom source was even released. Suffice to say I don't use DOS any more :-)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b
