  1. Dan & Dave 1.1 - DOOM 1

This was started using the MINE1 level which was distributed along with Doom Editor 2.60b. It has been modified from the original with many additions. If you play Ultra-Violence, be careful, there are a lot of monsters here!

  3. MULTI1.WAD and MULTI2.WAD

(The following text is from MULTI.TXT.) I have included three files in MULTI.ZIP: This text file, MULTI1.WAD and MULTI2.WAD. MULTI1.WAD is the original board I created, and MULTI2.WAD is the outcome after using BSP on my game. Try standing on the elevator near the sides of it and see what happens...you should be left at ground level while the elevator rises (without you). You might have to fight off imps first though because I put a lot in there.

If you don't like something about the board (too many monsters/powerups), feel free to change it around. I didn't spend much time on placing monsters or items, since I spent tons of time trying to get the board to work. Also, I didn't bother to match up the wall textures very well.

I haven't tried it in multi-player mode yet, so I don't know if it will be good or not.

  9. Killin for DOOM

You have to be real tough to will in Ultra Violent Mode. All skill levels are supported. Multi-player mode is supported. There are a several different sections to explore: The BIG room, "Tricky places", and a Teleporting Kill Zone. There are a number of secret doors, many of which are disquised completely. You need a fast machine to keep the battle in the BIG room from being jerky.

  22. DANTE'S GATE version 1.666

This is the third revision of DANTE'S GATE, and it accommodates a peculiar bug in the Doom 1.666 engine which does not allow multiple sector tagging for raised floors. I just barely caught this and had to redo a couple of sectors which raised fine in 1.2 through 1.5b, but not in 1.666. I've also taken advantage of some of the new LineDef and Sector tags for Fast Doors and Lifts. This version is fully compatible with Doom 1.666.

For the most part, the only "theme" I had in mind was to make the level as aesthetically pleasing and consistent as possible. In other words, I wanted it to look neat. There are lots of little nooks and crannies scattered about, and (I hope) a few surprises. Here is the storyline, if you want one:

After all this wackiness at the UAC base, you have lost track of your lady-friend, BEATRICE. How the two of you ever got separated is no great mystery, what with all these demons and devils running about, but you're damned if you're going to go through Hell for nothing. The only other survivor besides yourself and Beatrice is VIRGIL, the beatnik space poet. He last saw Beatrice by one of the warp-gates. Chances are she made it through -- but what's on the other side?

Only one way to find out. You'll have to go through DANTE'S GATE.

Please let me know what you think by E-Mail.

    Enjoy.

  24. RED.WAD - RED for Deathmatch!

Explore this small but potent array of terror with your opponent(s) until you've seen all the RED you want to see!

    RED for Deathmatch!

I personally would like to Welcome you to my second in a slew of customized PWAD files created for use with the Registered Version of ID's virtual reality game DOOM. In RED after you shake off the highly disorienting effect of the entry tunnel, you'll have plenty to do to finish off the utter nightmare of RED, then you'll have only a moment to breathe as you begin counting up your frags. This small but very deadly mirror image map will insure visions of RED! This map (E1L1) is recommended for use in Deathmatch only, even though it can be accomplished solo, it's not very challenging.

    Have Fun,

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
