  3. Special Operation Force

You are Sgt. Kebo Ludo. Member of the elite Special Operation Force left alone in a strange world.

You have to solve how to get to end without being killed. Not only by defending yourself against all the lovely monsters who want you visit them at HELL. Solve the problem of the Bounty, or the Atztec pryramid & the Phanton of the Opera.

I rely on the Shotgun, I think its the best all around weapon, besides Sgt. Ludo is too macho to carry a Rocket Launcher or a BFG. Those are girly-weapons. Besides solving how to get to the end of each level is sometimes not as easy.

Do NOT attempt to get 100% kills in all levels, if you do it means you cheated!!! If you like it, ket me know. This my second one, and do not know if I am doing ok.

  6. Disdain.WAD

There's not much of a story to this .WAD, I built it mostly for challenging architecture and just plain blood and carnage. ;) It (I think) would be fun for Deathmatch play, so let me know what you think.

"We're on an express elevator to hell, goin' down!" You have lost contact with the mining colony codenamed FURY. It is your job to find out what has happened to the colonists. Sound familiar? probably. This WAD is still fun to play though.

  9. DIAMOND1.WAD AND DIAMOND2.WAD

Here is an example of a level generated with NewDEU 5.0b Rev. 4 by Raphael Quinet. Since he asked every NewDEU user to do so, I have now mentioned the utillity by which the level was modified. The first level "DIAMOND1.WAD" is the first derivation, distinctly designed for my Doom aptitude. After letting some friends test the level (by using NewDEU 5.0b Rev. 3 with some minor clipping problems) I decided to modify the level and make it a bit simpler. All the secrets and switches are the same; only the size of the pedestals has changed. After you see the level you will realize it is very short, but, it took more than four hours to create! The level "DIAMOND2.WAD" is the easier of the two, although the monster-difficulty has not changed any. The levels *should* work with Deathmatch and cooperative, but, I have not had an opportunity to test either over a multiplayer connection... this testing happens tomorrow :)

    Enjoy!

  10. FULL ON (legalized release)

"FULL ON" is an exciting addition to DOOM.
    - E2M1 From Scratch! This is great starting place
    - E2M2 The Warehouse; from scratch, this place is full of hiding places and tricks. Also a great Deathmatch PWAD. Shoot it out in a Wholesale Warehouse amongst the aisles or pick them off from high places.
    - E2M3 The Refinery; from scratch, full of hiding places.
    - E2M4 The Testing Labs; from scratch, think you can do it by yourself? I think not!
    - E2M5 The Administration Complex; from scratch, Another fun place to hang out.
    - E2M6 thru E2M8 have been altered originals DOOM episodes. They have been removed by the uploader in order to avoid copyright problems.

  18. Escape from Planet Deum

Final Transmission of Agent Brendan Raphael Blaskowiecz: When I arrived on Planet Deum last night I teleported into the offices of the ware- house. Disguised as a Cacodemon I was easily able to maneuver through the mazelike corridors until I found the teleporter that took me to the computer facility. In the computer facility I discovered crushing ceilings and after much carnage was able to locate the teleporter to the penal facility. This led to the surface where, after sneaking by a spider demon I arrived at the door to the exit. I am opening the door right ARGHHH....... END OF TRANSMISSION. You will now be deposited into the warehouse where agent Blaskowiecz was sent. You must retrace his steps and discover his fate.

  21. EXODUS.WAD

Three Earth days ago (according to your chronometer), during a one-man assault on the Phobos Computer Station, you were knocked unconscious and taken captive by demon-possessed soldiers. When you awoke, you found yourself in a holding cell, in what appears to be some sort of prison. You've seen guards walking up and down through the cell block, and occassionally you hear the familiar sounds of those god-forsaken imps that you've grown to loathe so much during the past weeks. Luckily you have some UAC rations to sustain you, for your guards offer no food. But your weapons have been taken and it looks as if you are doomed .

But wait, what's this? A trooper has stopped at your cell door, and he appears to be preparing to open it. Could this be the chance you've been waiting for? As the door of your cell slides aside, you see that your guard is carrying only a pistol, which remains holstered. Can you take him? There's only one way to find out!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
