  1. Fury's Ambush

Infuriated by her losses, the Spiderboss was able to intercept your pursuit with her elite squads.

This is my first released level and its design concept is quite simple, but I really like how it turned up. You'll probably see. You'll see a mini- ature Hell. A REAL Hell. Watch out. I'd appreciate any suggestion or feedback.

  7. The Texas Tornado Deathmatch Wad

Well, I picked the name because a tornado just missed our house the other day. Seemed fitting for a wad file. This is a medium sized level. Pretty tough in the hard setting. No Cyberdemon or Spiderdemon. There are a few Barons, though :-). You'll need all 3 keys to exit, one of the keys is in a hidden room.

  8. MUDWADS Yeah, thats rite. MUD WAD'S

MUD1ST.WAD - My first full length, feature epic type challenge worthy of anyones GOD mode. This beauty has more monsters and demons than you can shake four rocket launchers at. There's a key hidden that you need to get into the room that goes to the next level. All difficulties are the same... hard! There is a lot going on so this may tax some less than lightspeed machines but you got it all here. Some secret rooms will help you. Bigtime.

MUDTOWN.WAD - Second one here, this one does have an easier difficuly setting (easier than totally impossible) and has more acurate texture matches for all areas and more refined challenges. There's a key hidden that you have to find to get into the room to the next level. Watch out on Diff 3/4 - it'll work you! Diff 1/2 are the same - doable. Good luck.

MUDVILLE.WAD - Third one's the charm. Well, there are teleporters and more new stuff... for me to do anyway. A good technical game. No secret rooms to speak of but a real good challenge for the purist. Diff 1/2 are doable... not too hard actually. 3/4 are another story. Strap on the big gun. Loop around and catch the trip wire to the door. Hang on!

MUDMANOR.WAD - This one is more and better.... skill levels cover possible to impossible. Ample weapons in the possible levels. Perhaps enough in the more difficult "impossible" levels too. No keys but it is necessary to take the long way around to finish. Enjoy!

What's with Mud, you may ask. And well you may. I am Pres of The West Mountain Mudbrothers Mountainbiking Club and as such the word (and substance) have a great deal of significance in everyday life. Besides how else would you know for sure that it was the "Muds" work unless I made it obvious when you tabbed to map in strategic spots.

A large, tough floor. Takes me 25 minutes to complete without cheating. Thought about making the map look like the state of Texas, but gave up on that, kept the name, though. Revised to support deathmatches.

  20. Slayer

This is my first "official" wad. The idea behind it is a themeless, but varied scenery type adventure. I tried to make it scary and fun. Also, the area in which the level ends is the ground floor of my cabin near Mount Lassen.

  23. Paradox

So here it is: Paradox, E1M2. Where Showdown only included my favorite four of the baddies, Paradox has them all. (With the exception of the bosses.) Also present are some interesting plays on the usual constructs. As before, I spent exhaustive (No joke there!) man hours playing and playing to bring the difficulty to just the right point. It CAN BE WON, providing you bear in mind the following points:

1: DOOM has a save game feature...

2: Monsters shoot too, so watch your ass!

3: What sometimes looks peaceful and innocent is probably a trap! Spare no caution!

4: Ammo is quite transient; use only what you have to and be careful what type you use.

5: Moving objects are much harder to hit than ones that just stand there and let themselves be shot...:)

Once again, this level gets much easier with practice, making it fun to come in on a fleshing rampage once you get good at it!

  24. Teleport me Where??

Teleporters and patterns are the key to this level. As in all my wads there is a hidden switch to end the level. Lots of bad guys a perfect level for 2 or more. Look for the key to open the hidden door that leads to the way out. Weapons availability (Chain gun, Plasma gun, Shotgun, Rocket Launcher)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
