  2. The Day Hell Froze Over...

Well, the cows have come home, pigs are flying, the fat lady has sung her tune, and now, yes, hell has frozen over! Just in time for the holiday season, you can frag some bad-asses over satan's now icy domain!!!

This wad is meant for deathmatch, though sadly I have not been able to test it out for myself!! If someone would be so kind as to try it out and then tell me if it's any good, I'd really be greatful!!!

NOTE: Run the wad from the batch file (frozen) `cause the new floor texture has to be added. Don't worry, it'll replace it after it's done, just run the batch file.

  4. Frag City

You start out in the middle of an arena, if you are able to reach a teleporter, you can enter the second area. There is also a special third area you can fight or run through.

What is different about this Wad that 300 others don't have? Hint: look at the ceiling, :)

    1. No bottlenecks: every spot has at least two exits; you can't be locked down. You also have to watch at least two places for enemies.

    2. Better weapons selection: if you select the first two weapons levels, only shotgun, chainsaw and pistol are available. At level 3, chaingun is available and at level 4, rocket launcher is available. Why do this? We found in playing deathmatch, that the game became too easy with the plasma rifle or rocket launcher all the time. It also made the game's outcome depend on whoever got to the biggest weapon first.

Shotgun and Pistol can be evaded. Plasma gun makes getting killed too easy. Rockets can kill just from the blast wave. The reduction in firepower makes the game more interesting since even an inexperienced player can do killing damage to a seasoned veteran.

An inexperienced player is no match against a more experienced one even with equal high- powered weaponary. This also makes the game more fun since you never know what will happen.

  6. Deathmatch Cathedral

Designed to have a demonic presence about it. You are locked inside an Unholy Cathedral- and only one of you shall survive!

There are a couple of "secrets" - but not too many to make it unfair. My favorate is watching someone burst out from behind the icon-of-hell with a newly aquired BFG 9000. The placement of all the weapons and bonus items were all well thought out and fair. This wad plays very well in -ALTDEATH and the exit is co-operative.

    my next level.
again, i made it primarily for death-match. it can be played alone or even co-op (who wants to do co-op's anyway?). i've tested it alone and on death-match but never co-op.
    it replaces e1m1.

  10. Deathmatch Showdown

On a secret base somewhere in Montana the US military wants to train elite marines to hand to hand in your face fighters. So they set up this building with nothing but halls and some weapon rooms. To make things a little more difficult they added no light sectors to hide in and wait.

  11. deathday.wad

My first serious attempt at a wad, also my first uploaded wad. This level is mainly made for deathmatch, however, single play is possible. I'm not sure about co-op, as I never bother to play it. The main premise behind the level is windows and more windows to shoot/see through. I haven't added the plasma gun, BFG or rocket launcher as I prefer the shotgun and chaingun in deathmatches. Also, there are no difficulty levels implemented. Either kill everything or be killed...oh, don't forget to wash your subconscience before and after playing doom.

  12. DietDoom

Small, frantic, deadly deathmatch wad. This Wad is meant for only deathmatch use, I won't be held responsible for the resulting boredom when playing single/cooperative. Contains all weapons, many teleporters, crossing alleyways, stepping stones, and no big open places. HEAPS of ammo in the start so keep blasting with that BFG. Meant for normal deathmatch and 1.2 doom because the network machines we run doom on havem't got enough ram for later versions.

  13. Eye Spy (Deathmatch Episode)

I called it Eye Spy because, well, it seemed appropriate. This level may seem large at the onset, but it has been found to be "just right" when playing in deathmatch. There are many, many sniper zones; a large catwalk surrounding a large courtyard; an altar room with a pit of death :) ; a torture room with a crushing ceiling; a lockable room for those occasions where you need to "duck in quick"; a look-out tower; a upward spiral staircase; ALOT of barrels; and ALL the weapons.. (if you can find 'em...); and a bunch of secret rooms.

  14. Fist_Em.wad

This is a fairly large level geared toward 3 or more players. Not many monsters but plenty of ammo. Lots of open space with some good sniper spots. Yes I have two prisons ( HALLS ) but one is escapable. I might of gotten lazy with a couple of unpegged textures but I had so many new ideas for new wads, that I had to put this behind me. Lots of lifts and teleports ( or transports for all the Trekkies ). I named it " Fist_Em " because when you are out of ammo, there is nothing better than sneaking up on someone ( who is armed for bear ) and punching their lights out.

  18. DeathMatch Arena

This is a basic large arena, with a ring surrounding it. There's a couple tricks to be found, so it remains interesting. There is no rocket launcher or acid, so it will work well without -altdeath. E-mail me to tell me if it's great or if it sucks. Thanks. Happy fragging!

  19. Free for All

In the spirit of LEDGES comes this all out deathmatch slugfest. All weapons are present, but are situated in such a place that going for them, puts the player at a perfect position to be fragged by other players. GET THE WEAPONS AND RUN! ALOT of time has been spent figuring out the layout to be in such a way that it makes for a FAST paced game and there are minimal "skulking" positions. Don't stand around! You'll get fragged! The exit requires two people to complete the board. One person to press a switch, and another person to use the lift. I've added a half-dozen imps around the board for a bit of variety but you may wish to use -nomonsters, or for real fun, use -respawn. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR -altdeath PLAY!!!

(Did I forget to mention that you start off with the chainsaw and shotgun... :)

  20. D9.WAD

D9 is the utimate in Deathmatch level design! Made especialy for the hard core player. Consider it your owne personal dungeon of death! There are two weapons of each type in all levels, no slime pits for those pussy suicide attempts and no monsters. All exits are co-op, so no scaredy cat escapes! This 3 level mini episode is the start of an entire 9 level DM episode! I am curently working on these 6 other levels and will release them upon compleation so enjoy these for now! Also D9 has its reject data rebuilt at a setting of 32 witch should vastly improve the performance on lower end computers.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
